  1. Great!, thank you, just set the DVR; hopefully it is actually broadcast this time.
  2. Thanks. And that is a great avatar!
  3. Thanks and to WotAguy as well. BS that it is was listed this morning as playing at 4 on the NFL network locally. I am obsessive compulsive about checking to see that I have actually scheduled the recordings for Bills games, checking again and again... Now, it will only get worse, with nightmares and night terrors likely to follow!
  4. Crap, just checked, yes, but that is what came up this morning when I did a search for the game, not sure what channel it was on. WTF? Why would that happen, why would the Bills game be listed on the NFLN and then not played on it??
  5. So, I get home just now, ready to relax and watch the Bills decimate the Giants, excited and happy that I am about to watch my first Bills action of the year... I recorded the game with my DVR thing from Time Warner, adding an extra 30 minutes just in case the excitement continues past the 4th quarter... And what do I see? DOUG FLUTIE!! Scanning through this it clearly was not a prelude of some kind, but a documentary that went on and on. And then, some kind of documentary on...JOE NAMATH!! So, the thing that I most wanted to watch was replaced with something you could not pay me to watch. WHY? What happened?? Wasn't the game on Syracuse TV? There is no longer a blackout rule, correct? It said Bills versus Giants when I recorded and it says the same in the recordings list. I did a search, hoping it was on later tonight or this weekend, but nothing came up.
  6. I agree-- it is my opinion, no doubt. But just because something is not commonly done does not make it wrong, and just because it has been done one way does not make that way the right way. The opinion of those arguing against my point seems to be: this is how it is done, therefore let it be. And then, the more absurd and disrespectful idea, that we don't owe Wilson anything. I disagree, think it diminishes the Bills, their history, and their legacy to replace the founder's name with a hat company's name. Ralph Wilson's name should still be the hallmark of the Buffalo Bills' stadium name. And the company would be so much better off doing so, associating their company's name and products with one of the most respected and important men in Buffalo New York's history.
  7. To say that they, and so 'we', don't owe Ralph Wilson a thing is nonsensical and disrespectful. Yes, other stadiums are not generally named after their founder, but this one was. The smart and respectful thing to do would be to include his name as a significant part of the Buffalo Bills' stadium's name. It is not all about the bottom line. Many owners took the money and ran in the last few decades, deserting their cities and their loyal fans. Ralph Wilson never did so despite many opportunities to cash in. There are many things more important than squeezing every cent out of a business, such as loyalty, history.. And integrity.
  8. They don't owe Ralph Wilson anything? You immediately lose all credibility with all clear thinking Bills fans with that statement. !!!!!
  9. Again, just because this is done doesn't make it right. The fact is the stadium is named after the founder and should retain that name. No football in this town without Ralph. I am less likely to buy the goods of New Era if his name is not part of this stadium. Makes sense from a community point of view and for the company to include his name. So, why not done? Answer: because others have not done so. Poor reason. No class without it.
  10. Yes, sad and pathetic. Just because 'this is what is done" in the NFL does not make it the right thing to do or a classy move. If the company wants to sell things and also enhance its image it should incorporate Ralph Wilson's name into the stadium's name: Ralph Wilson New Era Stadium ? A bit more classy, and more logical too. If not, shame on the Pegulas for this move and on New Era too.
  11. Great news. I cannot believe they signed Taylor and did not have to break the bank to do so. They will have a top tier, probably top 5 this year, NFL quarterback and they put themselves in a great position to build a strong team around him as well. Will prove to be one of the Bills best moves ever, I believe.
  12. Great mid-summer news! Taylor showed signs of greatness last year, both as a player and a leader. Exciting, sound, and motivating move for the team and fans. Even if they are not on board yet, they will be once the season gets started.
  13. Yes, of course, believe what he says. As Marcus Vick is an extremely reliable source, a really upstanding guy, citizen....
  14. Dennis Green always seemed like a good guy, someone you would want to play hard for. And I think people forget how good of a coach he was at Minnesota: --in ten years as head coach his Viking teams finished 1st or 2nd in the NFC Central 7 times --they made the playoffs 8 out of those ten years --and he finished his Vikings' tenure with a 97-62 record So, yeah, you will probably see and hear that tirade after the Bears game today, this week. I always liked that, how honest he was. But Greenwas an excellent head coach.
  15. Extremely misleading, as the poster likely knows... We know that those defenses often were paper tigers and couldn't do what they most needed to do--stop the other team from scoring. As in the last five years, they have been in the bottom half of the NFL every year: From a Dave McBride post: "Rex has certainly had that over the years. Still, over a five year stretch going back to 2011, here is how his defenses have fared on the points allowed front: 20th, 20th, 19th, 24th, and 16th (this year)." Those are the important numbers. Numbers like that are almost impossible to refute. Hard to imagine that this defense can rebound next year with same coaches, and more of the same 'philosophy" (and preparation, discipline, game day adjustments...). Carucci's article is very factual, hard to refute the implied conclusions: this did not work and will not work.
  16. Catch the Craziness while you can: Rex Ryan's last (half) year as a head coach!
  17. I am assuming this is all a joke, right? That, after 6 years in the NFL, and at almost 30 years old, and coming off a significant injury, someone would suggest that Easley might be converted to a safety? Just trying to get a reaction, correct? Definitely not "creative thinking" if the OP is serious. If not a joke, not just messing around, YIKES...
  18. No, it is a horrible idea, as it undermines Taylor's loyalty to the team and makes it more likely that he goes for the bigger money someone else will pay him next year. And it is especially troublesome considering how Whaley opens the vault for ridiculous contracts for much lesser players, and for players much less important to team, such as Clay. The Bills need to get something done soon, cannot wait until next year, as Taylor is the real deal, the hope for the future. If the Bills mess this up...
  19. I am not saying that these men coaching here in realistic, especially Coughlin, but how the heck would you know that they have huge egos? Because they were successful NFL coaches they have big egos? A very simplistic and illogical way to think, unless you are leaving out evidence that you have on this. Just because someone is successful does not mean that they have a big ego. In fact, from the little I know of both Lebeau and Coughlin they do not seem to be egotistical, seem fairly humble. When the Giants won the Super Bowl I was happy for Coughlin because of this; he never seemed arrogant, full of himself. Ditto for Lebeau, though I know less of him. And again, nothing to back up the implication that Schwartz too has a huge ego, but there it is again. Now for Rex, you may be able to make a case for his ego problem. I think this is a good possibility too. The offense was dramatically improved and Taylor is the real deal, will be the best quarterback the Bills have had since Jim Kelly, the line looks better and better, and the running game looked almost unstoppable. That was Roman's first year (for all that say give Rex the benefit of the doubt, 'what can you expect in a first year', 'blah blah...' ) Unless Ryan has a re-awakening, the defense will continue to underperform in dramatic fashion but the offense should be very good to excellent--and improve and improve and improve, just like they did this year. That is a sign of good/great coaching, the kind the Bills had in the Super Bowl years. I hope I am wrong about Ryan's defensive coaching ability, but if not, yes, Roman is an excellent bet for head coach next year (or earlier, if the defense does not show they are much improved during next year's season...).
  20. No, this makes sense, is what I want too. This team has many needs, and always will be behind with Ryan as the coach, so we need to direct our resources to more important areas of need. EJ had one horrible quarter, but otherwise played well, showed he could move his team effectively this year. Taylor had some very bad stretches too and is clearly going to be a high level franchise quarterback. And EJ will continue to improve working with Taylor, as Taylor is rapidly gaining/improving skills that EJ needs to be a starter, and they seem to have a very solid relationship.
  21. But it isn't true, look at the defensive statistics of the Jets the last four years. They had the players, but were not a high level defense in the most important statistical areas. And we all saw that when we watched them--hot and cold, inconsistent, few big plays, not ready for prime time, etcetera--these were their most consistent attributes. Takes a long time to learn! So sick of hearing this, so ludicrous that this is still being said. NOTHING to back that up, any more than there is to back up 'Rex is a defensive genius', just an illogical cop out. These are NFL players, most with significant experience.
  22. But again, why did his Jets defense break the NFL record for fewest turnovers caused in a two year period his last two years in New York? Was it the players' fault there too, that one of the most important objectives of the pressuring, disruptive defense failed miserably? The players' fault that the so called loaded Jets defense was not even middle of the pack in points allowed? Almost shocking to see those three big turnovers on Sunday, the game changing nature of them (go Fitz!) as we have come to simply not expect big plays from this extremely underachieving, poorly coached defense. If Thurman is back next year, or Rex has another yes man leading the defense, it will likely be the same thing again next year. Another waste of big time talent, like the Bills the past year and the Jets for years under Ryan. I hope I am wrong, as I think this offense will become better and better, and the defensive talent is there, but the objective evidence, including what we have seen with our eyes, tells me otherwise.
  23. After watching Mario play this season, this seems like the perfect place for him next year: http://all-funny.info/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/lazy-firefighter.jpg
  24. He not only doesn't look great, or good, he doesn't look like he belongs on an NFL field. He seems to have trouble even making a tackle, lacks the physical strength to do that like any linebacker should. If he doesn't get better quickly he won't be an Eagle next season and will be out of football soon. To say the Bills got the better end of the McCoy trade is a significant understatement. I hope Alonzo gets better quickly, but doesn't look good for him at this point.
