  1. Strange post.. How is this about ego in any negative sense of the word? Seems the OP is confused about the concept of a big ego (as implied negatively by the OP) and about the type of player McCoy is. He loves playing, was devastated when he thought he would may not play anymore this past week after he was injured. The Bills are his team now. He wants this as much as anyone. Ego is a good thing, it is what propels us, but this is not a 'big ego' thing for McCoy, but about wanting to be part of this, of his team, as they head to the playoffs for a huge game. If they gave him a lobotomy then he may not care. Yup, he knows he is a vital component of this team and their success. Knowing that does not make him egotistical, as it is factual. (To not understand that would make him ignorant.) Ridiculous take, in my view.
  2. Absolutely. Dalton is a top tier quarterback who at this point in his career has been destined to play for a perpetually underperforming coach and, so, team. Hard to imagine how any NFL team would part with a player like that. But, hey, we got Shady McCoy for...Kiko Alonso! So you never know...
  3. Kyle is going to play great next weekend, will be a big factor in the Bills victory.
  4. If Shady is out, then any options should be explored..
  5. I know it is not a very feasible option, but Tyrod would make an excellent backup and would likely really help a young quarterback as well. Likely: the Bills get what they can for him in a trade, hopefully a pick in rounds 3-4, and this trip to the playoffs increases his value, clearly. But if the Bills win next week it makes things difficult for the team, especially if Taylor plays a major role. And if they make it to the championship game, then he is back next year. (Has Taylor ever had a great quarterback coach in Buffalo, someone to help him eliminate weaknesses and sharpen his skills? fi not, might that be an option?)
  6. The Bills win an exciting game in Miami. The Bengals come through for their head coach. Kyle Williams gets in, his one time, finally.
  7. Jim Kelly Jack Kemp Joe Furguson Frank Reich Doug Flutie
  8. Yes! Exactly what the Bills need, helping to eliminate the most glaring weakness. Looks like a great trade and a great deal.
  9. I have been a Bills fan since the late 70s. This was the most important trade in Bills' history, in my opinion. While the championship teams may be better known for the offense, to me it was the dynamic defense that got things going and that was the base of much of the success. The trade, and that first game with Bennett, were seminal moments.
  10. Interesting to see the extent of the coverage of this topic on CBS pregame, and the extent of the criticism. Many players, teams, and coaches are speaking out and taking action. I think If fans took a knee, or engaged in some other show of solidarity, it would amplify the effects considerably. (Go Bills 12, Broncos 6)
  11. He seemed like a talented player who played hard, and a good leader as well, From the Buffalo News today, upon his signing with the Rams: "The analytics website Pro Football Focus ranked Robey-Coleman second among slot cornerbacks with a 74.86 passer rating allowed to opposing quarterbacks." 2nd in the league seems pretty good. How many other Bills rank that high? What is the highest ranking of all of these free agents that the Bills have brought in to this point? It doesn't seem that the Bills are in a position to just get rid of good players. I wonder if the Bills, Whaley, have a real plan or if they are just shooting craps, over and over...
  12. I always thought he played his heart out and did so with talent. He also seemed like a good leader. From The Buffalo News today, upon his signing with the Rams: "The analytics website Pro Football Focus ranked Robey-Coleman second among slot cornerbacks with a 74.86 passer rating allowed to opposing quarterbacks/" Isn't 2nd best in the league pretty good? How many other Bills rate this high at their position? It doesn't seem that the Bills are in a position to just get rid of good players. I wonder if the Bills, Whaley, have a real plan or if they are just shooting craps, over and over...
  13. Just read Jay Skurski's summation of the Daily News interview with Ryan. What a classless, senseless, irresponsible, obnoxious, pathetic ingrate. Saying he doesn't wish the team luck (to me, shows you just how close this 'players' coach' really is to his players), blaming everyone else for his failure and taking zero responsibility, implying the Bills position was not a "realistic opportunity", suggesting he joined a team in disarray as he was "not real lucky coming in there with the situation" he did, and bragging about the additional 15 million the Bills have to pay him. What a classless moron, the incompetent huckster fool he has defined himself as over the last 7-8 years. Talk about burning your bridges. Stupid, classless, clown.
  14. Phew!! Thanks. Late when I read the post and didn't want to read through the thread. As much as I don't like losing to Brady, game after game, year after year, and, now, decade after decade, it was the comment, "At that point, you may have to start elevating such undefeated Super Bowl QB's as Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco- certainly Eli Manning- to maybe not all time greater QB's than Brady, but definitely all time greater Super Bowl performing QB's," that had me concerned about your intelligence level, rationality, and, possibly, your sanity. While Manning has performed fairly well in one, okay in another, Brady has won 4 Super Bowls and the other quarterbacks, well, they should never even be mentioned in the same sentence as Brady. Your intelligence, rationality, and sanity remain intact in my book! Thanks for the clarification.
  15. Please, someone tell me, that this person is just messing around, as he cannot be that out of touch with reality and rational thought to believe either of the monumentally irrational and ridiculous points quoted above-? As I watch the news tonight, see what is happening in America now, it makes me realize that, yes, this person may actually believe these words. Maybe we have entered a new era where facts, logic, and common sense have been replaced by strange and irrational whims, daydreams, alternative realities.. And I think that America's schools may really be failing our students as badly as some believe.. But then I read his words above again, and think they are a joke, tongue in cheek. Correct?
  16. I disagree. What I read today related to the press conference makes me really question many of the decisions over the years by Whaley+. It now appears the same dysfunction, and incompetence, may be the cause of many other bad decisions as well. I have had an open mind about Whaley, and it is not closed now, but today makes me question if this leadership can ever move the Bills forward. I can see the Bills regressing again this year, maybe significantly. Difficult to see how any high level, respected head coach would consider taking the Bills head coaching job. And easy to see now how someone like Rex Ryan could have been hired.
  17. ? The GM of the team says he had no input in the firing of the head coach--and that the fired head coach called the shot on who should be the interim head coach? Etcetera, etcetera... This isn't just about not understanding PR, but indicates a very dysfunctional business. You can't have things like this happening in a local corner diner and think it would be successful let alone in a billion dollar organization.
  18. Yes, even diehard supporters of the Pegulas, and the way things are being run, need to be shocked by what transpired at today's press conference. The lack of accountability, honesty, factual presentation of what has occurred, and the completely dysfunctional nature of how decisions are being made was shocking. And, keep in mind, the Bills were clearly trying to present things in the best light. (Can you imagine what is actually happening behind the scenes?) The Bills, and it is crystal clear now, need new leadership, someone brought in with knowledge and experience, to take over the football operations. And not next year, this year, now. If not, it seems impossible for the Bills to get on track. No way can a championship team ever come from the mess that revealed itself at today's press conference. Very discouraging.
  19. Too bad EJ didn't work out, that he was not a better quarterback. Good guy, good for the area, but cannot throw the football where it needs to be thrown. Today, he looked as bad as he ever has, clearly having regressed this year, with almost no glimpse of quality play. (I was happy on the few balls that were actually in the general vicinity..) If today was any indication, he may not get another look in the NFL. But he is young, rich, and I am sure being an NFL quarterback looks good on a resume. Painful to watch today, though, thought he would show other teams something. But nothing there.
  20. But the Bills finally have a good offensive line. To get rid of a great player for an unknown, the draft pick, does not make sense. If Kujo works out then the Bills can move Glenn to right tackle possibly, or one may make a great guard. The offensive line is now the strength of the team, leading a great running attack. You don't all of the sudden roll the dice and play around with that success. The Bills will constantly experience mediocrity if they consistently diminish a strength for an unknown, a crap shoot, which, in the end, almost every draft pick is. The Bills should continue to strengthen their offensive line, not undermine it. I remember the same kinds of things being said about Marshawn Lynch when he was here, to get rid of him, get a draft pick, that we had a great running back in Jackson. I said on here at the time the trade was in the top two of the worst moves the Bills had ever made, that they got rid of their best player. This is not the well oiled machine that the Patriots are; you hold onto your best players or the Bills will constantly will be spinning their wheels, shooting craps. I felt the same way when the Bills got rid of Schwartz. Incredible hubris, stupidity too, to think your new unknown was going to do better than the top 5 defense the Bills had.
  21. Are people serious when they say this kind of thing? Trade away one of your best players for a pick that may mean nothing?? Crazy, illogical, the kind of thinking that would mean a team would almost never become championship caliber, constantly rolling the dice, taking ridiculous gambles devoid of logic. Get rid of a very high quality offensive lineman because another lineman shows some promise! Yikes.
  22. Seems like this happens sometimes. For example, Wade Phillips, former head coach of Denver, and now their offensive coordinator. (Assuming he was fired when he was the head coach there?)
  23. This guy is joking?? I would love it if I had time to see what kinds of things a person with this kind of analysis has supported and said on this board over the years. Can someone actually believe this, despite the lack of success the Bills have had since? Incomprehensible.
  24. He would bring in the best coaches, run a tight/organized/disciplined ship, and instill a winning attitude and culture into the Bills for the first time since.... Surely he would also choose a few of his former players as key position coaches. Just saying. Shoot, either one of the two presidential candidates would have been almost 80 near the end of their second term, running a country, and leading the free world. This is a just a little ol' football team, a game. I counted him as washed up when the Bills first hired him so I'll never discount what Marv can do to for a team.
  25. How so?? What he says overall seems pretty solid to me, and he often uses good facts to back himself up. But your comment lacks any back up, any support, so just appears you are shooting from the hip, flailing. Back yourself up..
