[Name Only Title] Ryan tannehill
Mister Defense replied to nuklz2594's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Umm...yes...as an extremely obvious answer to the question at hand, as stated.. Would anyone answer "no" to this question...? Tannehill was the highest rated passer in the NFL last year and almost led his team to the Super Bowl. So, duh? -
1 Bold Offseason Prediction
Mister Defense replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills do what they did last year: Address holes or weak areas effectively in the free agent market. Then, based on what they accomplished in free agency, they will draft the best player available at 22. And: They will sign key Bills' free agents, such as Shaq Lawson. They will not sign Jordan Phillips. They will lock up White and others before the season starts.. And then the Bills will win 12 games and earn a home playoff game. -
But this is your OP, the question you posed in it, directly (not as 'an example'): "Here’s my idea...what if we took the top DE or OT on the board at 22 and trade next year’s first and one of the extra 5ths this year to get back in the bottom of round 1?" I was responding to that, as that is the base of this thread, what many are responding to. But good to hear that you know better, that that is completely unrealistic. Unless the other GM is really, really bad!
-
Obviously not someone very familar with the NFL draft!! It would take a lot more than next year's first and the FIFTH round this year to get another first round pick this year!!
-
Umm... yes, some GMS listed here... But does anyone else know how this relates to the question posed by the OP other than providing a list of some good GMs possibly? I hit the links and that does not help at all, at least from what I see. (Is it so we can go to their many yearly drafts and read each one and try to ascertain this? If so, not very helpful!) Thanks.

One Bills Live...Maddy Glab
Mister Defense replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
She is doing a nice job, and is young and will keep getting better. I like that she does research and wants to use statistics to make key points. The use of these will get smoother and stronger as she progresses and gets experience. And by far, Murphy and Tasker offer the best Bills radio broadcast I have ever listened to--almost totally focused on the Bills and their opponents, very little of the side stuff, the poor humor and grating time-filling sidetracks of most other Bills (and sports radio shows) I have listened to, and very little attempt to create false topics and conflict to fill their shows. Yes, tough to fill 3 hours day after day, clearly, but an excellent job. I am not in the area anymore and wonder how their ratings are compared to other Bills and sports shows in Buffalo? -
I had not thought of Brady in Indi; a great fit, as they may have the best offensive line and Reich as the coach. I can actually seeing a move like this happening, but still not likely. Winston has a great arm. He may be worth the risk, a dynamic talent, but flawed. BB and McDaniel's should give it a shot.

yes, something like that. And Nantz is one of the best play by play guys--he'd be working with an inferior broadcaster, and if the current guy, much more inferior than Nantz. Part of Romo's immediate success has been because of a good broadcast team, both the production quality and his partner. I am always surprised when I watch the current MNF because of how amateurish it is.

The Pats With or With Out the G.O.A.T You Choose .

I want him to stay, to watch the Bills take the AFC East next year from them, him. -
Bills add K/P Kaare Vedvik to the futures signings.
Mister Defense replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
An average punter in college and comically bad place kicker in his limited NFL time; so I have no idea why the Bills would sign this guy. There is zero chance that he can outperform either of our solid current kickers so seems pretty silly and pointless to me. -

Boroquez played very well as the year progressed overall. He placed the 4th most punts inside the 20 yard line this year, nailing 34 of his punts inside the 20. He was 11th in the league in percentage of punts inside the 20 yard line, at 43%. Not bad for his first year in the NFL. The Bills have needs, and punter is not likely one of them. Boroquez got better and better as the year progressed and became one of the better punters in the league in putting the ball inside the 20 yard line. He will continue to get better. -
Yup, Wade is an excellent defensive coordinator. (He doesn't seem to be anything more than a good/decent head coach, though. Too many great coordinators want to be head coaches though it is not a good fit for them.) I was at the 1992 Bills Broncos Championship game and the defense he coached was one of the few able to stop that offense, though the Bills won 10-7. I think wherever Wade goes now he will continue to put a much improved, high quality defense on the field.

Biggest Bills needs this offseason
Mister Defense replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% agree except I would flip 4 and 5 here. (But I think Wade will be a dynamic, game changing running back next year.) If the first three happen, and the Bills get quality players, they take the next step(s) next year, in my opinion. -
Good luck!!! He has done some very good things, especially helping Josh Allen progress, but it seems like he may never be a consistently good OC, or, if he does become one, that it won't happen soon enough. But it seems extremely unlikely that he gets the job, as the Browns don't want a repeat of Kitchens.

No. The first two posts are more correct here; the Bills played not to lose their lead, the game, once they got ahead. Dabol does some great things, and he did so yesterday, but lacks the ability to consistently call a good game, even over the course of one game. He has done a good job with Allen, but if the Bills had a lesser season Daboll would likely be out. I keep hoping he will develop that consistency, and start to get it as a coordinator, but it does not seem he has it in him. Our coach and GM likely see the same things most fans see, I think.

Duke today, did the bad outweigh the good?
Mister Defense replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I started this topic because I was thinking of these things. I am questioning if the Bills feel they can rely on him to catch the ball when it is there, consistently. Perhaps this was why we did not see Williams on the field this year very much? Could be. -

Mister Defense replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely, and there were several. Important drops. That throw by Allen to Williams in the end zone was an excellent play. The balls that Williams dropped hit his hands, I believe. -
Richie Incognito extended by Raiders
Mister Defense replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought he was done before the Billls signed him, was merely an outside shot. I was wrong as Incognito became one of the Bills best players and a cornerstone of the offense. Then, this time, I was pretty sure he was done and at the most would be a backup. But with one sack allowed this year and seen as a stabilizing influence on the Raiders' line, he came back as almost the same player. You gotta give it to the guy, resilient as hell. And he will go down as a great guard in the NFL. A good example of perseverance and overcoming obstacles. -
Who remembers Don Smith's last carry for the Bills
Mister Defense replied to Stallions's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of confusing and misleading post--you should include the date of the publication on it so it is clearer. The Tuesday spoken of was almost 30 years ago. Anyone know how Smith is doing now, as he supposedly has been out of prison for over a decade? I remember him as he was one of the main kickoff returners in the Bills first Super Bowl year and decent at it. Had a few good runs as well, but tough to get touches that year. -
The starters are likely playing to sharpen the offense with one last game time opportunity to do so. That being said, this is how I think it will play out on Sunday: On offense, Gore, Nsekeh, but if healthy may play a little since he needs some game time. And while Brown and Beasley could benefit from a week off, the offense is developing and they need to be in there when Allen is. Ditto for all of the offensive lineman. On defense, the old guys, Lorenzo Alexander and Jerry Hughes; Star and Lawson too. And all 4 starting defensive backs: a long season and a week off is what Poyer, Hyde, Wallace, White need most. I see mainly backups playing by the second half.
