So hard to believe that a team led by rodgers at QB, head coach, and GM is so obviously a dumpster fire this early in the season, isn't it? Goes back to what I said again and again and again since the jets brought him in. No reason to ever be concerned about the rodgers 'led' jets, and laughed out loud at so many predicting fantastic success for the jets now.. Four sacks for the Bills this week? 2-3 interceptions?

Rookie WR Separation win-rates thru week 5
Mister Defense replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coleman is young, smart, and really dedicated to the game. He looks pretty good for a rookie. Not surprised he is doing well, so far, at separating. I think this, and his physicality and other traits will mean he will get better and better as this year progresses. I believe he will more clearly look like a quality #2 receiver by the end of this season--and next year, keep progressing. But the Bills need help at the position, clearly, and now, whether it is from the current roster or practice squad or elsewhere. -
Hey, Einstein, watch the replay, please. It seems you know more than the former long time NFL official the Bills hired to make these calls. Maybe you should apply for his job? Every NFL team can use a genius to help them make decisions...

Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
Mister Defense replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wait, wasn't Einstein a pretty smart guy in real life??? So, an ironic nickname here? Oh, I get the Einstein nickname now. Yes, simple sarcasm and irony... Like: "Hey, Einstein, you have to turn the hot water spigot to get the hot water to come out." Makes much more sense now, an extremely apt nickname. -
LOl, well, not by everyone! Some supremely dumb threads and posts after this loss. I tend not to get on here much after losses, generally speaking. Now I am wondering if so many are so ignorant this often? In this thread, the OP diagnosed a concussion from his couch, and would bet on his intelligent diagnosis... All the trashing of McD and Beane and other super dumb, can't be any dumber threads than this and the OP. Like little kids with no logic or experience, just throwing out random reactions as factual.
-
umm, huh?? A joke? You could tell, from home, about a player on the field, that he has a concussion? It looked bad, and likely hurt, and maybe was a concussion, but YOU could definitively determine this was "pretty clear" from your couch last night?? Could you clarify this, your reasoning, or just trolling here, a joke, maybe?

Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.
Mister Defense replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, I do. Thank God, the vast vast majority of Bills' fans do the same... -
Who is more at fault? Beane or McDermott?
Mister Defense replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall
Responsible for what??? For having the 2nd best record in the NFL over the last 5 years, second only to the 3 time SB champion Chiefs???? I would say both have been responsible for this significant success. You give yourself away, your ignorance, with your opening words: "As much as I'd love to blame McDermott" Translation: "So, while I hate both of these men, tonight, well my extremely irrational hate is more focused on Beane." Lol: see bold above. Yikes. Are all the crazy hate posts on McD and/or Beane as comically ignorant as the posts in this thread, or is this thread exceptionally so? -
Thanks, as it gives me an opportunity to respond to the now closed thread "I think the only way McDermott gets fired" One of the most batshi* crazy (and dumb) OPs I have ever seen. It's like these crazies are watching, hoping for a loss, so they can spew their nonsense and ignorance.

Week 5, Bills v. Texans, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Mister Defense replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lost some respect for Stroud on this comment: "I’m glad that he’s finally having fun playing the game." Give it a year, or a few more games, cj, and the facade will burn off again, as it always does with ol' diggs. Stefon screams and cries on the sidelines, during and after the game: Bills 31, texans 20 -
The idiocy and worst kind of (willful( ignorance of a post like this is revealed in much of the nonsense he spewed, but this one says it all, defines the post as complete junk: "We fans have witnessed countless performances in McDermott's tenure that have defied logic in terms of how well your QB performed and how the games ultimately turned out when it really mattered most." The "countless performances"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is that complete BS, not in any way true, and obviously so, this team has lost very few games since McD and Beane (as I assume if I go and read his comments on other threads, his hates is likely spewed equally between the two men) took over this team. And almost no games lost by more than one score. Yikes, sad, pathetic, nonsensical post and words. Countless performances!!!

Come on though, the facts are awfully clear now. I think this year will make you re-evaluate your analysis. In fact, more than anything now, I want the Bills to be true to their 'everyone eats" offensive philosophy--and start making both Davis and Johnson integral parts of the running (and passing) game. This is the next step, the championship step to me. Think Allen is at his most dangerous now? Wait until the running game becomes a dominant, versatile one... But yup, we definitely disagree! Watch the Giants game from last night if you have not. They went with your conventional wisdom and would not pay their star RB, those dime a dozen rbs... Moves like that will serve to further shatter that fallacy, the CW, about the value of high level running backs.
-
Wow, not only does it seem you did not watch Bills' games last year, but maybe did not watch the NFL at all last year--or this year. The running games are now becoming as vital as ever, again. So clear that was happening last year, as teams realized they could run and run on the smaller defensive players teams were going with, and schemes, to counter the passing game. It seems you are sadly suckered in by cliches, the so called conventional wisdom, and don't see what is actually happening in the league. Or with the Bills. The teams with the best, most dynamic running attacks are taking over now, again. And when Buffalo began to focus on the run, they turned two seasons completely around and became the legitimate Super Bowl contenders we knew they should be. Open your eyes: San Fran, Buffalo, KC, Ravens.... So I guess I stumbled onto why you would even consider such a comically bad Cook trade--you likely despise the term 'complimentary football' too, I would guess. When McD forced Daboll's hand a few years ago, after a 6-5 start, the Bills then ran the ball the most in the NFL--and immediately became a legitimate SB contender, losing to the Chiefs in the 13 second game. Last year he fired dorsey, and, yup, the Bills ran the ball like they had not in years. And, just as I suspected, see my posts, the Bills became a dominant, SB contender over night. They went 6-1, their only loss to the Eagles, on a crazy long field goal. But you think Beane should be fired if Cook continues to shine and becomes the star he seems to becoming--and Beane signs him to another contract?!?! Despite what we have seen from the Bills when they run the ball a lot and well over the last few years, and despite what we have seen related to NFL running games last year, and even more so this year? Immensely illogical, ridiculous, and comically so. Julian, Two shockingly nonsensical football statements now in this thread. But thanks for filling in the blanks for me--to flesh out how you can possibly have come to these absurd conclusions. Very clear now.
-
Nope, this is the first time I saw this post. And ??? , "I mean pretty convenient to blast away after a great start for Cook" Umm, were you actually surprised that he started as well this year? Out of the country last year? He was one of the best players in the league LAST year, Julian: 6th most yards from scrimmage in the league, with 1122 rushing yards and 445 receiving yards. 1567 yards. So, yeah, pretty shocking to read the OP. It is how horrible teams operate--not winning teams. You have to admit, pretty funny that some actually said we should do this crazy thing! Can we get a 2nd for Spencer Brown next year? Rousseau? Kincaid? I think we could. Get 'er done, Beane! As soon as all of the good players come into their own, let's cut our losses, just in case...
-
One of the dumbest OPs in the almost 30 years I have been on TBL. He is just kidding, right, trolling? It reminds of some similar threads with some yahoos hoping to trade Marshawn Lynch, because we had another good (30 year old? 31 year old?) RB at the time. Made a lot of sense to me at the time--let's get rid of what is clearly our best player, not even at the prime of his career, with maybe ten good years left in him, for a draft pick--as we had a player near the end of his career at the same position? Yikes. With moves like the one the OP suggests, the Bills would always be that team we saw for a decade plus after Lynch was traded. Scary dumb, or just a joke? No in between here.
-
I think it shouldn't be massive, but super massive, the biggest cb contract in the history of the league. For a 6th round pick, at a position where we have seen this coaching staff take one so called meh player after another and turn them into high level starters. But Beane will likely sign him soon, get a lower number than would otherwise be the case, as usual. Go Beane!
-
But seems unlikely Chicago and Williams beat them at home. He looks like he needs to sit and watch and learn for a while before starting--like most qbs. Or the Bears may ruin yet another QB. And surprised the Hawks are only favored by that many points over the qb less fins--and at home. And the Eagles may be as dysfunctional this year as they were last year. We will see. Bellicheck will likely be getting a call well before the season ends by one of three NFC East teams.

Thanks a lot for the help. Set up an account on FanDuel, 'made' my bets. But it won't let me place them as is says they cannot verify my location. And all their links to download the geo ocation thing just took me back to the same page. Tried to then to do it on my phone, and surprising--same problem. Have never had that happen in all transactions+ I have done online, so off to the casino I think.

Curious what people think is the best betting site for NFL games? Interested in betting on several individual games this week and choosing 3-6 games in some parlays. When I checked sites it was hard to find info on a parlay like that, only in 'same game" parlays which I have no interest in right now. Or would I get better odds etcetera by just doing this at a local casino this morning? Seems like some good bets/lines today: Hawks -4.5 over fish, Tampa -6.5 over the Broncos, New Orleans -3 over the Eagles, and maybe Vegas -5 over the Panthers, though Dalton may give the Panthers something more today. (Like Titans over the Packers, but not with Love at QB.)

Flashback EJ manual comeback drive
Mister Defense replied to mikemac2001's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember getting very excited in some of his later games, telling people, "Look how much better he is getting! The balls are now in the vicinity of the receivers! This means soon he may be able to get it even closer!" Nope. Homer, rose colored glasses, yup. -

Who loves ya, baby? We do! Go CB! -
I think you need to re-read my 2 posts and stop being such an attacking, reactionary person on this board, lambasting and name calling as you so often do... You are definitely not one who should claim to have all the answers, but, instead, the one with the childish insults and over the top, hyperbolic statements over and over...
-
Lol, patently wrong, eh!? You are the arbiter of these things? No way--I have read your posts over the years! McDermott is an excellent coach, but has been too defensive, not willing to take (good, calculated) chances enough as a head coach, plays it safe too much in big moments. Not necessarily in going for it on 4th downs anymore, but in general. Has played it too close to the vest. But he has learned, I believe he is cognizant of this weakness and is getting over it. Clearly so. Kind of a 'duh' statement by me, that he has been too conservative overall, and one most would agree with, even those, like me, who hope he is the Bills' head coach for years to come. Best coach and staff in the NFL in fostering the potential in players, and in coaches, and in making sure back ups are almost as ready as the starters. Now, becoming more aggressive, less concerned about losing than in winning and dominating.
-
I agree completely. He has been an excellent head coach, could likely take a team of back ups and cast offs and field a dominant defense. His one weakness is he is too cautious, too careful--too defensive. But last year, with the firing of the clearly incompetent dorsey in the middle of the season, and taking more chances in general, showed he has learned, is taking the next step to reach his and his team's potential. And on Thursday, doing the unexpected, just like you say. We saw that change in Andy Reid when he went to KC, and in Dick Vermeil in his second go round in the league, and it enabled them to take the next step. If you always do what you've always done you will always get what you always got. McDermott wants a championship--and now seems to have found the final key in his bag to open that door. Go Bengals and Titans today! Though Burrow may be on his last leg (wrist).

Week 2, Bills v. Fish - PREDICT THE SCORE!
Mister Defense replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
No time to do any stat research, so total shot in the dark: Bills 35, squished 24
