Since it opened the reports of the bad views from many of the far away seats means people often spend the game watching the huge monitors rather than trying to figure out what is happening on the field. And because the fans sit so far from the field, because of how it is designed, there is usually not much of a home field advantage there. Yes, they have often beat up on the bad teams there, but rarely come through now when the good teams come to jerry’s dysfunctional stadium. Instead, people have said it caters to the elite, to the corporate--and to jones’ ego. I have said the same kind of thing on here, that it a soulless place, one devoid of character or football atmosphere—so, the house that jerry built is often like his teams. To me it reflects the kind of teams and team atmosphere he has increasingly built over the years. And that is truer today than ever.

Agreed, at least in part, as McCarthy is likely not a championship caliber coach either. Said the same kind of thing on here, that he chooses personnel like a kid playing a video game, with the big names, stars, flashy players. They bring him the attention he craves. Now it is a different kind of attention. But I have pointed out that when things start going south, this year and last, and overall, he always is sure to let people know it is NOT the personnel, but something else, so, not HIM. But just look at his teams, whether they look close (to some) or like this year, and the players cannot cut it. And he brings in past their prime coaches, as they seem to be the ones who are willing to put up with the huge obstacles in Dallas to get a job. Young, sharp, upcoming coaches stay away, know better. And jones does not want coaches who would speak the truth--or want more say. Hence, McCarthy, Zimmer. Maybe he will bring in Norv Turner next year, for another go round? Honestly, what is likely to happen tomorrow is probably the best birthday present ever for McCarthy. Can you imagine how free and fixed he is going to feel to no longer be under the thumb--and getting thrown under the bus--of jerry jones?

That would be very funny, and very bold of him.

Well, another head coach may also be fired tomorrow, Aaron Rodgers. If so, I cannot imagine a more perfect fit. He could be their quarterback too. Really, it can be Joe Schmo. Maybe someone who can at least instill a little discipline, structure, attention to detail, to end the year with at least the hope, or the attempt to improve. Then, with an 'interim head coach', it will be much less embarrassing for Jones than having his beloved team look so awful playing for a coach who has won the Super Bowl. He can rationalize it was because teams don't usually do that well under interims..

yup, makes sense, was thinking along the same line when I wrote that, realizing that the thing that would likely give him the most satisfaction in winning another Super Bowl is the attention, the spotlight, shining brightly on him. Without that, he would likely not want one as much.

A very good point, one I had not really considered: today we see another fatal flaw in his team, a very poor back up quarterback situation too. And with the lack of offensive play makers, running backs and receivers, and ditto for the defensive personnel, today he embarrassed himself even more. He knows full well that tomorrow the criticism of the very poor depth at quarterback will grow louder and louder. Prescott is out for the year, and what we saw today may be what we see for the rest of the year. Yikes. He had two days to get someone else in here, knowing that Prescott may be lost for the year. But he ignored that in the same way he simply ignored their player needs in the off season. The sutff is likely to really hit the fan for jones--and he has not been handling it very well lately.

What a mess Jerry's team is. Makes me appreciate what we have in Buffalo even more. Today against the Eagles they looked unprepared, undisciplined, and unmotivated. They have the worst rushing offense in the NFL. And the 3rd worst rushing defense. They have given up 44, 29, 47, and 34 points in their four home games this year, losing them all in blowouts. Right there in Jerry's giant soulless castle, a building that effectively symbolizes his leadership. Even though Jones likely realizes the best way to get out of this mess is to have a great draft this year, so the more they lose the better, I don't think he can handle the humiliation any more and sets McCarthy loose on Monday. I assume when CBS cut to the king's throne room late in the game, and his was empty, he was already setting this up, a done deal. What do you think? Will Jones also replace the GM? He must realize that the guy is obviously not cutting it, and at 82 he would love to win one more Super Bowl. I bet he would give up most of his wealth, and all of his fame, to win one more. Will he look himself in the mirror and do what he needs to do to have that opportunity again?

Can you imagine how relieved Prescott must be today, to be off that dysfunctional train wreck of a team for the rest of their miserable year? And he never even had to actually tell jones to fu*# off. Probably will just mouth that today if on the sideline.

Bills 30, Colts 21 Bills run and run, and set up the pass like this, and not just Cook this time--Brady wakes up and realizes what he has in the RB room, and uses his backs much more effectively today, both running and catching. Screens galore. Hollins, coming through now, and at the perfect time, has a big game. Hopefully Copper can go too, and also has a big game. Short passes, creativity, and lotsa good pass rush today. As usual under McD, the Bills bounce back on run defense, a week after getting gashed, learning from their mistakes.

Great to hear this. Bass will make some big kicks in the post season. Like I said previously, the best thing I have seen related to that monster kick was Sam Martin repeatedly kissing him on the sideline after he made the kick, after picking him up in the air. Just like an (affectionate) father would do to his son after a great moment like that. Showed just how close this team is, a great sign. Compare the Bills, this year and over the last 7, with a team like the girls, with every man for himself.

Oh, not what I expected, a very misleading topic stated... Oh well, a very good post nonetheless. I like that he has been more involved lately, a big, aggressive wide receiver, who can go up and get the ball. Shoot, the guy had an excellent year just two years ago, with a much lesser quarterback in Carr throwing to him: 690 yards, 12.1 ypc. and 4 TDS. He won't hit those numbers this year, but as he is being integrated more now it is clear he can make a difference this year.

But you have to admit, this year, so far, an extremely good job by McDermott and his coaches to quickly take this team, with so many new pieces, and turning it into a contender almost immediately? Almost startling, actually.

Yup, an A, A+ actually. And definitely needed to put this in its own thread, not buried in another. Great move, as now many more will read it. 4 high caliber starting players, all of which are already integral parts of an excellent team, and all/most may be consistent Pro Bowlers. Of course, it will not stop the Beane or McDermott haters, and we all know that, but they aren't relevant to conversations like this or about the Bills. Thanks for the info, work put in. Yes, but don't you want more of Davis too? I said in my prediction against the dolphins to give all of the backs more touches last week, running and catching We see what Davis could do and seemingly almost every time he touches the ball. And Johnson is a dynamic player too. Once the Bills start to use all of their backs more effectively in both the run and pass game, and not just Cook, this offense will take the next steps. If they do that, with Cooper also getting integrated, the Bills will be right up there with the Lions as the best offense in the league.

Great, give him more playing time. Need a good blowout or two, thought it may last week, to give guys like this some playing time to see what they can do.

So, from what you have seen from Brady, the resurrecting of the Bills' offense overnight, the 13-3 record since he took over, the resurrection of the Bills ground game, one of the best offenses in the NFL this year, even after significant off season changes etcetera etcetera etcetera... You would "dump Brady" with, literally no thought whatsover, as you say, in less than a second, in a "nano second"? So, to you, Brady has been soo bad as the Bills' OC, you would not even have to THINK about a move to Stefanski, not even consider any of the objective information available, no stats, no evidence of Brady's tenure as the OC, don't need to weigh the pros and cons of both men as OCs, not consider what Brady has done so far? At all. And ditto for Stefanski--what he has done so far as an OC is soo good to you, so superb, so superlative, that you would not even need to think about firing Brady and replacing him with Stefanski? For you, a "nano second" is all you need to make this major decision? So, that clearly implies no thoughts needed, no consideration of any facts, evidence, comparison, and basic reasoning needed? You would automatically do this without any consideration? Why? One would think with such a definitive point of you, and no thoughts or consideration on this move needed, that there would be something that caused this to happen inside your head. But none are spoken of in your post. What leads you to your decision? Can you tell us why?

??? I am very confused by this.. I get home after being away most of the day, assuming Beane and the Bills' leaders have read this thread and that it has helped them to NOW finally decide what move to make, what player(s) to trade for. But then I look at the list of NFL transactions for today---and see the Bills have done nothing at all!! No trades at all! WTF?

Makes zero sense to think that getting rid of Brady and replacing him, after taking a moribund offense that was lost, confused, desperate, and regressing, and turning it completely around over night, and ending the season almost going undefeated save for a 59 yard field goal... and after going 13-3 in his first 16 games, and, this year, 7-2, with a revamped offense, with almost all new wide receivers, and turning it into one of the best, most dynamic offenses in the league, in both their running and passing... and top 5 in points per game... and somehow, knowing all of these things, all of these facts (strange things, these facts, eh?) thinking: 'Hmm, it seems we could do better, move on from this guy now. This is clearly an area of our team we must get better at than this." Only dumb and extremely incompetent GMs, and clearly with some kind of personal axe to grind, would think this makes sense. And GMs, people, with no sense whatsoever. Ludicrous. Not saying Brady is the 2nd coming of Reid now, but hard to imagine a much better start to his tenure here as OC. Any GM or business owner with the philosophy you suggest, and in a case like this, would surely lead their team or business directly into the ground. Yup, you always want to make your team or business or school, or whatever it is, better, better than good, great, but you will not ever get there by doing supremely illogical things. And just throwing all of the objective evidence out the window as you make decisions.

Thankfully the Bills' brass would not do that, are not stupid. With the Bills having the 5th most points per game this year. And being 13-3 in the regular season since Brady took over. We can all thank our lucky stars the Bills would never be that ignorant, that illogical. That is what bad teams do, make stupid moves that don't make any sense. How can anyone not think Brady has done a superb job? And this year, with a revamped offense, not only not missing a beat, but becoming even better, more diverse, more physical and dynamic on offense. And Allen having one of his best years.

I agree they need a pass rusher, as THAT can be the missing piece too. So, if what you say is correct, seems a player like Azeez Ojulari? If Tua can have his way with this defense, other good passing and running times will too--Detroit, KC, Baltimore, Phiii..
