Quarterback Playoff Stats Comparison
Mister Defense replied to TableDestoyer69's topic in The Stadium Wall
great stats and presentation! One of the most effective ways to present stats, with the visuals, graphs. Thank you! Amazing just how many people who make their living analyzing football have said the Bills don't hit their potential in the playoffs because of his play, especially his significant turnovers. When, in reality, he is one of the best all time. Lazy and careless to spout this BS when they have not done the research they needed to do. You should send it to the uniformed and crazy lazy Shannon Sharpe, who repeatedly said the reason the Bills have not made it far enough in the playoffs is because of his turnovers. He said in answer to someone, maybe Orlovsky, who said Josh was a scoring machine, that yes, but 'for every touchdown he scores he turned the ball over and the other team scored off it'. ! And that he did the same thing in the playoffs. And he said it over and over, as if that would somehow make his lazy ignorant nonsense factual. Great football player, but he may not be able to read. Your graph may be what he needs so he can see it. -
No thanks, as though he may do well next year, it is a big risk for any team willing to pay him over ten million. The Bills, and Beane, will not repeat what was one of the worst moves of this current team--bringing in an old lineman way past his prime and dramatically overpay for him. Like Miller, one of his most important attributes was his speed, which often enabled all his other skills. Mack will be 34 soon. Instead, the Bills need to follow their own philosophy, and trust the process that has made them so successful. Use the draft and/or get a young up and coming player in free agency that they have had their eyes on. They should hire Gregg Cosell as a consultant and finally nail their defensive line picks in this year's draft (and free agency).

Nice! Really like this move, but any head coach for the Jersey jets is likely to be a good one for the Bills with as dysfunctional an owner and organization as they have. Now, let us all cross our fingers, and any other body parts we can cross, so soon we can hear the magic words we all should be rooting for: "The Jets have decided to bring back aaron rodgers for the 2025 season." Fingers, toes, eyes..?..all crossed. Please let this happen

? The first six games of this current season? They scored 34, 31, 47, and 35 points in the first four games, victories, of this season. Then, 10 and 20 in the two losses, of course. So not sure what you mean by that statement, first 6 games. In any case, I am confident that the game plan against the bluebirds this past week will not be the same against the Chiefs, as far as the how conservative it will be. But I would definitely be up for point totals like they had early in the season!

I’m very happy with how far we made it.

Of course you are right--this team has shown time and time again they fold under pressure and do not have the mindset to improve, get better, no matter the circumstances. If they don't win, this is a lost season, and the Bills will not recover. It will be time for dramatic changes in leadership as well. The Bills will likely fire the coaching staff and bring back someone like Dorsey to steer the Bills into the future, to a championship. -
Concussion protocol shmotocol... Benford needs to play this week no matter what No excuses

Great take, i had not heard about McD looking at every play of the Ravens, for example. The Bills do not have the defensive talent of most of the top teams in the playoffs, such as Phili and KC, but they have a coach who can overcome the current shortcomings--and an offense that can do more than almost any in the league. I cannot wait to see what happens when they re-load on defensive players in the off season, and prepare for another run at a (2nd?) championship. If McD can do what he has been doing without great defensive talent, imagine what he can do when the Bills are fully loaded..

Part 2- Another disaster by McDs defense in the playoffs
Mister Defense replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even though I think the Bills will win the Super Bowl in about 3 weeks, I am just as eager for the off season and draft as ever, if not more so. With some great players added on defense now, they may be building the next NFL dynasty. Our head coach continues to prove he is one of the best defensive minds, and head coaches, in the NFL. The great stats you have chosen and show us are another example of how he has evolved as a coach. He is not just more aggressive in what he wants on offense, but much more willing to change things up, even dramatically, for games and in general, when it comes to any aspect of his team. I think what Josh has been saying publicly, that they are not going to reinvent the wheel come playoff time but do the same things well, was a smoke screen, subterfuge. I thought that after last week against Denver and seeing things such as many different running plays used etcetera. Against the bluebirds this past week, on both defense and offense, it is clear that the Bills will make any changes they need to beat their next opponent. And to win it all. That is growth, just as one would expect from a man with his ability and integrity. Against his old boss, mentor, next week, I cannot wait to see what he will have in store. -

You better stop having some fun at the haters' expense. They are extremely sensitive about their hate, very protective of it, and will not stand for anyone undermining it in any way! -
Personally, this Ravens matchup is my "McDermott Game."

That's what I thought! Some people are just flat out envious of another man's disposition or beauty. And if you have both, as you do, they are green with envy. -

No, don't be so humble. It is your super objective, positive and even handed analysis of this team that completes the board. More of that, please! He sounds like he may be your long lost brother.. -

I did not mean to embarrass you. Having some good fun with a bizarre post, before a huge game, in which you clearly stated a win was not good enough reason to keep McDermott as our head coach, but it needed to be a win with specific criteria, criteria that were, as you know, almost impossible to meet. You said it, and it showed the absurdity of the hatred for McDermott, so I shined a little light on that. Go Bills! -

Yes, overall they are quiet, but, like last week, we can fully expect the top dozen haters to get going soon--give them time, they just need more time to figure out how to approach this huge win. But you can see the seeds of their discontent emerging already at the end of the previous hate threads from the last few weeks, like this one, sharpening their blades: 'Oh yeah, you think the Bills had a great win yesterday? I will show you just how lucky they actually were. It is wildly irrational to think this Bills team can ever win it all...' But we as Bills fans should give them space today, as yesterday had to be an extremely tough day for them as the Bills are now heading to the AFC championship game again. -

Yes, makes perfect sense. Win Win for the Bills. A Super Bowl victory and also losing this albatross the Bills have had around their necks for 7 long years now. Fire him a day after the Bills win the championship. This also fully supports the astute analysis, logic, and generous spirit of the OP as well. In addition, with time left on his contract, the Bills should be able to get some extremely good draft picks after the Bills win it all this year. Those teams won't know, the way a small percentage of very smart, astute, football savants in Buffalo know, such as the OP, that he is a team killing coach, and his 'success' in Buffalo has been a mirage. Hopefully those teams won't do a deep dive, or look too closely at this board. -
Spoken like a true hater--and someone who watched the game wearing glasses covered with feces..

I agree Hamlin is not a great starting safety, but very glad that the Bills had him to start this year as they would likely not be in this position without him. I think he will be a high quality back up for at least a few years now with the Bills, something I did not think would happen before this season. The Bills may have lost the game yesterday without him. That sack on Jackson and fumble, returned by Miller, were one of the key moments in the game. Ditto for his tackle on Henry in what was likely Henry's best opportunity for a huge gain, with a head of steam and no one in front of him. It would have demoralized the Bills a little and changed the mindset of the Ravens. While he made some big mistakes, he made HUGE plays in a huge game, with Hamlin doing the unexpected, again.

I am also heart broken, as any real Bills fan would be for poor Andrews. I almost wept when he dropped that conversion, had to leave the room to collect myself. I am slowly getting over it though.

Just checking in to see how you are doing on what must be a tough night for you and to offer you my support. Too bad your big, scary Ravens, with all that overwhelming talent, those stars you glorify, did not show up today to beat up on the lowly Bills. Maybe next year your team will rise to the occasion? Have hope that one day they can rise to your lofty expectations. Best wishes!

A great win for the Bills, but a bittersweet moment for McDermott and his supporters.. Obviously he did not meet your criteria to hold onto his job next year, as the Bills, of course, did not 'shut down the Ravens or at least hold them under 20 points'. Do you think the Bills should wait until after the AFC Championship game to fire him? Or should they do it tomorrow? Or, do they wait until after next week's game? After the Super Bowl? The Bills will be far behind the other teams looking for head coaches as it is, so should they do it tomorrow, to get that search going? It was a good run, but you are right, as I said originally in this thread, so time to move on.- 268 replies

Divisional Round, Ravens v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Mister Defense replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills have met almost every challenge this year. They will do so again today. Win or lose they are in superb position going forward, with an offense that is superb, historically good, and so can devote much of their considerable draft capital to acquiring the kind of talented, stout defensive lineman that will help them become unstoppable. Bills score over 30 again, with the Bills O line and offense the story. Tight ends and backs come through early and throughout in frigid Buffalo, while their defense plays better than the critics are saying. We saw a taste of what to expect last week. The 12th man comes through big time. Jimbo Cook, who has become a top five, elite back, with superior vision and speed, shows who the best all around back is today The Ravens are an excellent team, with very good talent overall, but they are not the unstoppable powerhouse so many have been saying they are. Bills 33, humming birds 24 -

Hey, Mr./Mrs. Rigotz, Are you going to answer these important questions, above??? Like I said there, it seems very very clear in your OP that a win today is not enough for McDermott to keep his job, but that only an extremely specific type of win will meet your criteria and enable McDermott to keep coaching here next year. And possibly beyond. Can you confirm this, clarify this? The game is today and we need to know!. Thanks again for your time.
