I am completely sold on Patrick Willis
gflande1 replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peterson will definetly be gone...Willis may even be gone before the #12 -
I have been sitting around tonight watching player videos on youtube trying to see who I think the Bills should pick at #12...one guy really stood out...Patrick Willis I just love how humble this guy seemed in receiving the Butkus Award. Link I also like the way he plays Link This guy is a playmaker...he is the LB we have been looking for

the official " i think we should trade up and try

Bad idea. If they are going to move, it has to be down to get more picks. Too many holes to fill -
Corey Dillon cancelled trip... says No to Buffalo
gflande1 replied to Tom's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it has to do with Jurons statement about wanting to go to a running back by committe rather than having a feature back. Im sure they told Dillon this, and his oversized ego told him that he is a feature back...therefore no reason to come to Buffalo. -
Yesterday I read that the Bears are looking to move into the top of the first round. With the possible trade of Willis (assuming a second round) to Baltimore, would you be interested in giving up our #12 for Lance Briggs? I wouldnt mind seeing a trade that included Spikes and our first for the Beard third and Briggs...is this possible? I just feel that Briggs has a better chance of succeeding that some unknown college rookie (ie LB Willis). He has experience and would be able to fill in for the loss of London Fletchers experience. We would then have our LB and could focus the remaining picks (2 second round, 2 third rounds) on our remaining areas of need (DB, DT, LB, RB). The remaining offseason would look like this: Sign Dillon and Brown to short term contracts Trade Spikes and #12 pick to Bears for Briggs and their third round pick Draft: Second Round: Best available DB Second Round (McGahee): Best available DT Third Round: Best available LB or RB Third Round (Spikes): Best available RB or LB Fourth Round: Best available OG Sixth Round: Best available Seventh Round: Best available

Dolphins | Trade agreement reached for Welker Mon, 5 Mar 2007 14:05:53 -0800 Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the New England Patriots have agreed to a trade with the Miami Dolphins for restricted free agent WR Wes Welker. The Patriots have already agreed to contract terms with the receiver, but rather then go through the motions required with restricted free agents, the team will instead acquire his rights from the Dolphins and then proceed to sign him. It is still unclear as to what the Dolphins will receive in the deal. Chris Brown had this to say:

If Wes Welker is worth 38 million over 6 years

Here's a RFA DT that sounds like a seasoned Akoye.

Just wondering if a player can be traded to a team in lieu of a draft pick? Maybe we could send McGahee to the Titans in exchange for the rights to Starks (possibly even a late pick from the titans) -
Any chance we could have gotten Adalius Thomas?
gflande1 replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry....NFL Network went on to say that this is very unusual for the Pats, that they will sign him to a blockbuster deal...bet that wont go over well in their locker room. Later -

NFL Network is reporting that Adalius Thomas is close to signing with the Patriots, just wondering if there was any chance of the Bills being able to afford him. I only ask becuase I heard that the Pats are known for not breaking the bank on free agents, so the fact that they are close to signing him, I would guess its not a huge blockbuster deal like many thought he would get, or atleast very cap friendly the first couple of years. What do you think? -
Dockery Signed per Buffalobills.com
gflande1 replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The other posts said that WGR said he was signed, I was just saying that it is now confirmed by the teams page.... CHIEF -
Nothing about Walker, but it says that Dockery has signed on the main page. WGR was right Yeah!!

Just wondering what kind of contracts these guys are looking at. Sporting News suggest that these guys might be what the Bills need to upgrade: Eric Steinbach G Cincinnati Kris Dielman G San Diego's Michael Myers DT Broncos Alfonso Boone DT Bears Cato June LB Colts Adalius Thomas LB Ravens Nick Harper CB Colts Just wondering what the possibilities of us getting any of the above players. I would love it if the Bills signed Steinbach, Myers, June, and Harper (not likely to get all four, especially with cash to cap). I think we could then fill the other guard spot, RB, and WR through the draft.

Thanks. I can remember seeing Joe Furguson play, but the rest of these guys I dont remember. I would have been 11 when Furguson stopped playing for the Bills.

I know this is a bit off topic...but I just came across a advertisement saying that the "The Buffalo Bills Electric Company" will be signing autographs on February 25 at ENV Collectables, Carousel Center, Syracuse NY. Scheduled to attend are: Joe Ferguson, Reggie McKenzie, Joe DeLamielleure, Mike Montler, Dave Foley, Tony Greene, and Seymour (not sure what his first name is). http://www.envcollectables.com/bubielcofe25.html

Lots to be optimistic about for 2007
gflande1 replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that with the 2 1st round picks and Maroney the Pats are far from dead. I think with a few key additions, they will be in the think of things again (although I hate saying that). -

Bills vs. Dolphins [Game Thread]

I thought the score was 0-0...when did JP lead them to a TD? -
A very close friend of mine, who is big fan of the Bills, is deployed here in Iraq with me. Anyway, he got a call today that his pregnant wife is having complications...and it appears she is having a miscarriage. She is in the hospital now, ready to go into surgery to remove the baby...and save her life. This is there second unsuccessful attempt to have a child. He is preparing to get a plane out of Iraq to be with his wife. I am not a very religious person...but Travis needs our prayers...if you would...please say a prayer for him and his wife. Thank you, Glen

[ot] AWOL soldier seeks refuge in Canada
gflande1 replied to udonkey's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just in case anyone was wondering, no this was not me. I am still in Iraq fighting alongside by brothers and sisters! I am not trying to defend this dude, but can understand how people could get f-ed up enough to run. I dont like it, but some people cant handle this sh--. Go Buffalo!!!!! edit: Sorry, like many on here, i posted before I read. I thought he had been here, got scared and ran. Instead he was anti-war and had no plan on fighting in the first place...all the while sucking on the govt's tit. I am not for this war, like many of you I think its been handled improperly, however, I'm in the military and its my duty!!!!! I have been living of the govt for 14 years and there is no way in hell I would ever think about abandoning my family and fellow airmen (Air Force). If you dont want to fight in a war, dont join the military (which I think is fine, this crap isnt for everyone, during some of our attacks I have even wondered what the hell I was thinking when i came here!!!). The guy will get what he deserves. Again, GO BUFFALO!!!! -
Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that I arrived safely in Iraq a few days ago. I posted that I was deploying last week and was looking for someone to send me copies of Bills games I will miss while I am gone. Anyway, doesnt seem like I am missing much. I have a much bigger request for everyone here on the board...helping the Iraqi children. The base I am located at has the largest Trauma 1 hospitals in Iraq. Obviously injured soldiers go through here, many critical, some unfortunately dead. Iraqi children are also brought through this hospital, many with severe injuries, and some having lost their entire family. The hospital here is requesting donations of children’s clothing and toys be sent as they are not equipped the handle this overwhelming issue. If you would like to send something, you can send them to me and I will ensure it makes it to the hospital. Fortunately for me, I am only here for a short period of time, so send it soon (priority takes approx 9 days), the end of this month might be too late. I will try to work out a thank you letter or something for everyone the sends something. TSgt Glen Flanders 332 AEW, 332 EFS/OPS APO AE 09315-9997 Take Care, Glen
