I don't see who would really support a cap on individual contracts, except maybe owners as a way to limit overall salaries. Players, agents and the union all want to see both top end and total comp go up. The former is a leading indicator of the later. I still can't believe the people who flood into these threads with the guaranteed contracts nonsense, as if NFL players are standing shoulder to shoulder with them on the picket line for an additional $5 an hour.

He didn't live up to the first round pick and was a bit of an outcast guy with the abstinence stuff, but overall he was a decent CB. As with every player, he has a price.

That's certainly conventional wisdom and my default way of thinking, but I wonder if teams are banking on more availability of FA QBs in the future based on what has happened these last few years. Gruden seems to like experienced vets and could probably bank on picking up someone like Cousins or Carr (again) in two years. But if I moved all the way to CA to get away from seeing NE* on TV every week only to have Brady come here, I'll be pissed.

I get it if you're interviewing at a white shoe law firm or on Wall Street, but otherwise find the pretense of dressing for an interview differently than how you'd dress working there (or dressing up for work in general), to be a silly anachronism.
