Exactly. Very few WRs are starter-ready as rookies so you need to draft them in advance of when you really need them. If you look at their ages and contracts, it is highly likely Brown and Beasley both have two years left in Buffalo. So it's either develop young talent now or go bargain basement shopping in FA later for starters at WR. Remember by then they'll have had to pay Josh and a bunch of other guys so they won't have $90m in cap space every year. I'm not saying it's mandatory to draft a WR with a day 2 pick, but it is high on the list of positions they should be targeting in rounds 2 and 3. I tend to think RBs can be found later in the draft but wouldn't have an issue if they felt they found great value earlier in the draft.

And unlike getting TP and cold cuts, there is no problem getting alcohol. Also, this no going in the store thing works like a charm! I ordered from BevMo on Friday, drove over and the guy had my order ready and in a shopping cart for me when I arrived. I never got more than ten feet from my car and was in and out in 3 minutes. Pretty remarkable that in 50 years only one guy (and by one yard) has exceeded that kick when you consider the changes in athletes, conditioning, fields, domes, etc. RIP

We were shopping regularly but now all the stores, even the local market down the street, have gone to the big-box policy of lining up on the sidewalk and only allowing X people into the store at a time, so we gotta plan to avoid store-rush hour now. And it's been raining all weekend.

The problem with Watkins is he doesn't elevate anyone else. In Buffalo, he needed to be the guy. He needed to make his QB better. He needed to open things up for the other receivers. That's what a #1 WR does. That's what Tyreek Hill does. That's what Julio Jones does. That's not what Watkins does. That's not who he is. Yes, he can blow up two or three times a year when the defenses are running all over the field trying to defend Hill and Kelce, but he'll always be a 3d option player. Not a very good return for a #4 pick that you traded up to get. I don't have a problem with Watkins, but I'll always have a problem with Whaley and his stupid 'make a big splash' approach to the draft. The day they fired Whaley was the biggest moment of the century for the Bills.
