    I don't dispute the concept but I have issues with the discount rate being applied, especially when it's a first round pick. p.s. when's your next SF trip?

    I really don't get the whole 'I'm pissed they took a CB after letting Gilmore go'. WTF did you think they would do, ignore the position because it was now a glaring hole (and instead draft a TE at #10 when we already have an $8M/yr guy at that position)? They got a CB for much cheaper than Lattimore and they got the two extra picks.

    So they got White + 3d + next year 1st instead of Lattimore or another TE the QB can't find? That's looks ok to me at this stage. Obviously they need to spend multiple picks on the secondary in this draft so no issue with the position.

    Fast forward a year and the Bills will be using those picks to trade up for a QB. Book it.

    That's the most unnecessary trade up for a QB since JP Losman. The Niners were not going to take a QB.

    I agree the weather thing is, but the character & heart of the player isn't. Those other guys you mentioned are all at the very top of the heap in that category. Most players aren't.

    Yup, but his nature is to run things so that means he's going to make plenty of rookie mistakes, as we've seen with the Bills and Sabres. Hopefully he's learning from them.

    There's the conundrum. Guys like TP didn't get rich hiring the right people and stepping aside. They got rich by being the right person who drove strategy and key decisions.
