  1. Yes, more or less. The first few times I used Lyft it seemed inferior but they have caught up; at least here in San Francisco. Not sure if they are as well established in every market.
  2. Multiple this by a million and presto -- you have the creation of the Patriots* fan base over the last 15 years!! But yeah, you don't make a comment about anyone's kid, ever, no matter how much you hate the player or politician or guy in the next cubicle.
  3. I don't think you understand what Uber is. And they've had unlicensed taxis in NYC and other rich places for decades too. Yes, Uber and Lyft are my favorites; best invention in a long time. I don't care how many stupid things the ex-CEO said or did.
  4. Great question. URI is one of those perfect steps between small time and big time for rising or rehabilitating coaches so any success is usually fleeting. I was there when they had Tom Penders and he brought exciting teams and packed houses to a dormant program. Jim Harrick did the same a decade later. I assumed Hurley would follow the same path but he signed a big extension last year so maybe URI is serious about building a contender and maybe he'd rather do that than go to a big name and deal with that set of circumstances. Every contract can be broken so I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but the more they win the more likely he sticks around. http://www.providencejournal.com/sports/20170516/uri-dan-hurley-agree-on-contract-extension-through-2023-24-season
  5. Dan's been putting some talent together the last few years. So far this year they've been playing up to their potential.
  6. Let's also take a moment to say 'thanks !@#$s' to Pete Carroll, Dan Quinn and Mike Shannahan for robbing us of the 'Pats staring at 5th straight SB loss' story line.
  7. Absolutely. The Giants aren't anywhere near as bad as they played this season. They are not going to be the Browns or Rams and have a top 5 pick every year for a decade.
  8. But...but....getting a pound of flesh from someone I've never met over something they may or may not have said to another person I've never met is what is critically important right now!!! Truely bizarre how much energy people devote to certain inconsequential things.
  9. Given their once in a generation draft slot, they'd have to be really sure Eli can and wants to play 3 more years to pass on a QB.
  10. Bummer; one of most likeable guys on the team over the years. Best wishes to him. Add OL to the high priority list in the draft.
  11. No major arguments with the results. Those 4 guys were all clearly deserving. A whole bunch of HOVG guys on the ballot who I don't see building their way to Cooperstown. A few comments: Clemens -- As always, !@#$ Clemens. I hope he never, ever gets in. Or at least dies first. I couldn't hate him any more if he was starting for the Pats*. Mussina -- interesting borderline case. I don't think of him as being that great, but he has more wins than Jim Palmer and Bob Feller. Can you workhorse your way to the Hall? Manny -- wow, people really hate Manny. 22% for maybe the best hitter we've seen in our lifetime. I understand why, but......damn what a hitter. Livan -- I know he's no HOF, but come on, only one vote? This guy had a really interesting career. Too bad they couldn't put Livan and El Duque on the ballot a team. Isringhausen -- So much for Generation K.
  12. I'm fine with Reyes in the reserve IF role. He's a Met, he belongs here.
  13. Man, even though I didn't go out of my way to get Mets news when I lived in CT, I realize how much I picked up via a few minutes of the FAN in the car or reading the Post a couple times a week, etc. I don't know anything anymore. Is there a Two Mets Drive?
  14. Obama is smart enough to understand his entire term was inconsequential. Other than ‘cash for clunkers’ of course.
  15. I gave them an F for waiting until they were so desperate they had to draft a stiff like EJ. AND they drafted Tony Hunter first.
  16. Come live in Marin! http://www.pacificunion.com/real-estate/13-fielding-circle-mill-valley-ca-94941/21726338/46656650
  17. Well, in the first season they went 0-3 against the Yankees, but that team was a dynasty under Roy Turner.
  18. I've always liked Costas but it seems like he got very preachy in recent years.
  19. Excellent point here. The Bears were battle tested playing in the North Valley Little League. Bears in 7.
