Yup; all those shows were great, and possible before these guys made huge dollars and TV could still incent them to participate. Now, half of them can't be bothered to take an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl.

Meh....not generally a fan of mergers of two good things (cause it usually ends with one mediocre thing). And certainly not a fan of the current wave of small brewers selling to big ones, but I understand the economic realities driving the trend, so I guess this is better than either of them being purchased by one of the giant, crappy brewers.

Downtown/Market Street/Union Sq., etc. is awful and as advertised. It's like the whole Tenderloin slum moves south for the day. Ironically, rich capitalists like the head of Salesforce are now taking on the challenge of fixing it since the government liberals have no answers. That said, you really don't see that crap (literally and figuratively) in most of the city. The Mission has always been sketchy, but even there it seems to be different than what they permit in the downtown sewer. And of course, there are no cops here. Still amazes me when compared to NYC where you see them everywhere, all the time.

This posted reminded me of my greatest shot. We were playing Richter Park in Danbury, CT the day after Thanksgiving. It was cold -- we had to wait for the frost to melt before they let us start. Got to the tee on an all over water par-3. I topped my iron such that it shot straight out from the tee, skidded all the way across the pond on the very thin layer of ice that had formed, hit the bank on the other side and popped up and onto the green. Two putt for par!

It's almost like people would rather watch a video game than watch humans. The most absurd example now is how baseball reply is primarily used to attempt to decide if a guy's midsection comes off second base for a millisecond while he slides over the bag after he beats the throw. But the pending PI disaster will far exceed that. When I am Emperor, not only will all replay be outlawed forever, those who most vociferously advocated for it will be sent to labor camps as punishment.
