Thad was more impressive than I thought last year
billrooter replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I usually don't even post, but we have different opinions. First up the offensive line was very good, but they got dominated every super bowl, that's where the bills lost the super bowls on the line of scrimmage. The defense in my opinion was also very good, with alot of big names on it, but i doubt they were even a top ten defense in points against, or yardage during the super bowl years. With guys' like Jeff Wright and Leon Seals on the line they got pushed all around in the super bowls. The Bill's offense was a top five offense in the super bowl years, maybe even the best offense in the league in a few of those years, if the defense was also top five it's truly a travesty that a super bowl was never won, i kinda doubt a team has ever had a top 5 defense and offense in the same year, but stranger things could happen. Don't mean to call out your post, but our opinions vary so much, and your not giving Kelly the credit he deserves! -
Is TJ Graham as bad as we think?
billrooter replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's better than Beebe, wow really? You base this on him not having the qb, Goodwin was better than Graham so Goodwin as a rookie was better than Beebe also right? -
Jerry Hughes and Mario Williams chasing history
billrooter replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't check but right off the top of my head I would have thought Warren Sapp and John Randle had more sacks in a season than Cortez Kennedy? -
Actually he looked awesome in one of the preseason games, I forget which one? He's a rookie and I am not encouraged after the Cleveland game but it was a Thursday game in which he was receiving very little reps in practice, hopefully a full week of snaps and more experience helps the guy!

I for one admire his dedication, but we need him on the field next week, when we hand KC there first loss of the season!

I believe coaching is getting a lot of praise when it comes to our cbs this year, the difference is scheme. We are playing much more one on one and corners close to the line of scrimmage. I hate zone coverage and understand in some cases you have to use it, though we have been more fortunate with the scheme we don't rely on it like years in the past. Williams and Mckelvin I think are playing better because they are allowing them to use there physicality more than in years past, it will be interesting when Gilmore is finally healthy to see the dbs in action!

Wow is there a festival in Miami today where are the fans? Is this Jacksonville? -
This Marrone fella, he's gonna be a good one
billrooter replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It could have a lot to do with Cincy being at home last week, most teams are better at home as evidenced by them being 3-0 at home and 0-2 on the road before this weekend. His play calling has been questionable and predictable a lot to me this year, I just hope it improves next season when we may actually be able to do damage! -
Very well done!

I believe this is year number 4 for Easley two years right of the bat can be eliminated, from his broken leg and heart condition. I'd love for them to give him a chance, he seems like he might have finally found his groove as a receiver, though the fact that he has been a really good gunner on special teams thus far might have something to do with it.

Let's give Stevie Johnson some negative attention
billrooter replied to davspo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If SJ would just produce at critical times and shut his fu$$ing mouth he would get less critique, but over the years come crunch time he has either critical drops or penalties and continues to run his piehole, and then morons defend him. Shutup or put up Steve Johnson, by the way Stevie makes him sound like hes' a ten year old, even if he acts like one. -
Sheppard to me looked like he was to slow to react to anything while he was here and heavy footed, the only reason he started for us because he was a drafted guy and we had ****ty linebackers. He might blossom in Indy but imo he will be a fringe guy if hes' even in the league in five years, time will tell!

Under pressure, name of an 80's tune also!

ESPN article ranks Marv Levy # 17
billrooter replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since you replied to my post with out listing my name I will reply, first up i'm 41 and not too young too remember Marvs' tenure with the Bills'. I like Marv and i'm happy hes' in the Hall but 17th does seem kind of high, but hey to each is own! -
ESPN article ranks Marv Levy # 17
billrooter replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marv Levy is a great guy but before he came to Buffalo he was a sub 500 coach in the nfl, many coaches would have succeded with the talent he inherited. I would in fact go out on a limb and say if the Bills' had a coach a caliber of Parcells, Johnson, or Gibbs they would have definitely have won the first super bowl and quite possibly another or two. The bills' staff was really out coached in those super bowls and probably a lot of other games while he was here, but they has a ton of talent! -
While I agree that me may have very well been a reach, He's actually 5'8 7/8's and 183 lbs. and I have read that he is a very good blocker, so you may not be giving the guy enough credit for his ability to handle contact.

Dave Wannstedt 2012-2013 Thread
billrooter replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sanchez has dropped back all day and gotten rid of the ball real quick nixing buffalos' pass rush when the dbs are playing 7-10 yards of the ball. Wannstedt has to have the dbs step and and play bump and run or something of that sort in my opinion. -
Tank cut - Carder to Cleveland Browns
billrooter replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I respect that then, i seen him fill the whole twice very nicely and he was in on those two tackles, and sniffed out a screen behind the line and made the tackle. I guess we just have different opinions. I agree he was one of my favorites as was Joique Bell a couple years ago and maybe my glasses are to rose colored. -

Just trying to state that i have a mild understanding for the game, internet smartasses are a dime a dozen online and i see here is no exception. -
Tank cut - Carder to Cleveland Browns

What i find amusing is people on this board make posts such as, everyone likes his name and if you know the game of football and watch him you see hes' lost. I have watched every preseason game and i am now watching the lions game less than a quarter left, i only played inside lber for 9 years through high school and as i am expecting the guy to not play well in this game, i am watching him make plays when hes' on the field, he has great football instincts and he doesn't wait downfield like alot of linebackers he gets of his block and goes to the line and makes the hit. In my opinion he got the shaft here, he might or might not turn out to be a solid pro but i am expecting he will, i think they blew it on him. Bradham as previously stated made it for his special teams skills as did White they must prefer that more in a backup, but in my opinion he turns out better than Sheppard, hopefully i am wrong because Sheppard is here and hes' gone. His skill set, speed, instincts, and sideline to sideline capabillities blows Sheppard away, if he was our 4th rounder he'd also still be on the team. As a disclaimer every year i like most others don't like some of the Bills' cuts and i have been wrong before. I also liked the play in this game of Aiken, he looks like a real confident receiver that fights for the ball! Did you watch any of the games, that is a generalization, he is not slow footed and doesn't play stiff you have no clue in my opinion! -
What a turd! Speedy recovery Ralph.

Bills need to fix LB's and DB's core
billrooter replied to TitansBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tank Carder is the name, and chances are like most 6th rounders he's not the answer, i can honestly say i have only seen him in last weekends preseason game (have yesterdays dvred), but based of of that i like his instincts, sideline to sideline pursuit and willingness to stick his helmet in the thick. I want to see what this guy can do before i write him off and more of Mckillop as well, Sheppard didn't impress me at all last year, he seems to slow, and lacks instincts. When the bills drafted him i liked Mason Foster alot better and i think foster was drafted later but might be wrong on that. I never noticed Aaron Williams at safety last year either as the previous posters' acknowledged though i may be wrong. -
Actually i wanted to see him play more last year to see what he had, did i miss something i didn't see him on the field for more than 20 plays?
-
What would you expect to get out of a guy that was classless, and a thuggish punk who was one strike away from a big suspension? The bill's were cutting their ties from an ignorant pick the previous regime made, you hardly ever get true value with a trade when it involves draft picks, if i recall marshall faulk was traded for a 2nd rounder. In my opinion Freddy had not exploded yet because he was never given a fair chance to be the starter, he played great football when he was splitting time also, once the offense started to roll a bit it opened up space for him to fully shine. I like the previous poster must hold higher expectations for a running back that was chosen 9th overall, to me franchise backs are picked that high, i hope spiller turns into one but him starting 6 games and staying healthy hasn't convinced me he's turning into a great back. I was dumbfounded with the pick when it happened and i am fine with it now and just hope it turns out for the best, but he has alot of work left to do for me to consider it a great pick or developing into a great pick, he don't have the instincts most great backs have.
