I tend to agree with Kelly and frogger on this one. Three things about this situation: 1) The kid owned up to the issue before it became public and admitted his mistake. 2) He and his coach both collaborate that he did not use them during the season but afterward to assist in recovery of an injury 3) Everything I have read about him says good kid, good player It would be niave to assume this is the first kid that was a user at the time of the draft-- He's a talented kid---who took responsibility for his actions--if he becomes good value--which most pundits say is anything lower than the second round with him--I say get him to Buffalo--

Castillo juicing From all accounts a good kid..but this will hurt his status. Several of us have speculated he would look good the Red and Blue

This is beyond the vendetta stage...there has got to be some history here. Maybe when TD's grandfather was Governor of PA, he incarcerated Sully's grandfather for stupidity or something. Blaming TD for drafting McGahee---good God--this man is an idiot...

A resident of Alaska who frequents this board

Not a good time to be a wildcat in Wisconson Article snipet... Feline lovers holding pictures of cats, clutching stuffed animals and wearing whiskers faced-off against hundreds of hunters at meetings around Wisconsin to voice their opinion on whether to legalize cat hunting. Residents in 72 counties were asked whether free-roaming cats — including any domestic cat that isn't under the owner's direct control or any cat without a collar — should be listed as an unprotected species. If listed as so, the cats could be hunted. The proposal was one of several dozen included in a spring vote on hunting and fishing issues held by the Wisconsin Conservation Congress. The results, only advisory, get forwarded to the state Natural Resources Board. -
Breaking news from the Research Triangle Region of NC...... A massive pile up on I-40 was triggered this morning when a group of Hell's Angels collided with an animal transport truck and an ice transport vehicle. The resulting pandelerium caused pigs to fly and hells froze over.... I heard from a confidential source that eating lots of McDonald's super size meals will make you fat.....I also heard TD told the truth once during the month leading up to the draft. Twelve years ago he stated that Bill Cowher had a rare disease called jet jaw that will prove fatal over time. Cowher was so upset that he eventually got TD fired.... The guy who started the rumor on bb.com said he is studying to be a sports agent someday. He got a good start on his apprenticeship by spreading his first whooper...

While its fun to speculate this time of year...I don't believe even a quarter of the stuff that TD says in the media, on bb.com, in Bills digest or to his wife, mother and kids this time of year. I will make two predictions: 1) We will draft someone that is very obscure like McGee two years ago. He wasn't even in the Pro Football Weekly top 30 CB's in 2003. 2) Travis Henry will not be a Bill on March (I meant APRIL, ) 25, 2005

Plus we have Tory Woodbury.... Tory Woodbury Just a question of whether we want to bring 4 or 5 to camp. Might be a subtle indication of how much they plan to work the passing game in camp.

Age, Skills, support in the run game, potential difference maker on special teams...all factors...Nate is simply a better player

I would only consider this if Dan Snyder offered more than his first. TD vs. Snyder in a negotiation like this would be fun to see. Snyder is a pretty formidable business guy but the football team is his toy and when he covets a guy he overpays.... So how about their first and their third this year and maybe a conditional '06 pick based on Nate's playing time in '05--up to a second.

Other thread Mark, agree with your post. But I also think this is partially Lenny P. continuing to be TD's B word..... -
I have read two places where Jones has a shoulder injury that has hung around for a while. One was from Mort who claimed the shoulder injury hurt him being viewed as a QB. The other is in the Pro Football Weekly draft guide which I just picked up today at the local Barnes and Noble. On the good side, the PFW guide said the kid plays hurt on the bad side it said he doesn't always play hard. They rated him late 2nd, early 3rd as a TE. By the way, the PFW book is still the best mass market draft publication available even after Joel B's untimely death two years ago.

Its hard to do investigative reporting with his head so far up TD's anal orifice...and that's one big noggin Lenny's got by the way. -

TD getting Lenny to do his posturing work for him. Not unusual at all. Now I am sure this trade is going to happen and the swap of seconds is included. -

From ESPN Insider and Scouts, Inc. Travis Henry Bills Cardinals Apr. 7 - Scouts Inc. is hearing that the long-rumored Travis Henry-for-L.J. Shelton trade will be consummated within the next few days. The deal has been delayed over the Bills' insistence that draft picks are included. Buffalo has been asking the Cardinals to switch spots in the second round, which Arizona now appears willing to do. If the trade goes through, Buffalo will move up from pick No. 55 to No. 44. The only thing that could hold up the deal now is the status of Henry's contract. He has one year left on his deal, and the Cardinals would want to sign him to a long-term contract before making a trade. L.J. Shelton Cardinals Bills Apr. 7 - Left tackle L.J. Shelton appears to be on his way to Buffalo in exchange for running back Travis Henry. Scouts Inc. is hearing that the long-rumored trade will be consummated within the next few days. Shelton, who fell out of favor with Cardinals coach Dennis Green last season, was granted permission to seek a trade in February. He has already undergone a physical by the Bills. John Clayton has corrected the Bills cap figure from $62 Million available (Spend like drunken sailors in Thailand) to $6.2 Million (spend like drunken sailors in Norfolk)...This is as of April 1--so its probably more like $5 million after Anderson's hit is assessed--meaning that the assumption of Shelton's contract and the trade of Henry will leave us about $3.25 Million...enough to draft and sign one vet at the minimum....

True SF..but for job growth I am sure reasonable incentives can be put together. We have a $8 million dollar private sector fund in Raleigh to attract businesses. The banks, energy company, service firms who benefit from job growth contributed. The state usually quadruple matches that fund. The county in this case instead of contributing money could contribute tax abbatement and infrastructre upgrades from bonded funds. Anyway--I think there are probably pockets of money. On another note, this has been a really good thread. I have learned a lot about WNY politics and stadium design. I particularly like the Peace Bridge stadium with the Canadian arts, culture and interpretative dance pavillion....

The comcast/time warner bid would leave little room for a regional hq in a place like buffalo. A cablevision bid might open up more possibilities for regional headquarters and offices... Time Warner for example has two regional hubs in NC and employs about 2000 folks in the state--Cablevision would need that type of operation somewhere in the new markets it would obtain if it took over Adelphia's. It would be more than just the truck roll folks probably include their marketing, finance, hr and other business functions.
