End of last season quotes in Denver... But would he be willing to stick around as a backup to Drew Lock? That's half of the question. “Like I said, I’m probably a little bit more worried about other things at this point," Flacco said on Monday as the Broncos cleared out their lockers. "If that’s what it has to be, then—I want to play football. If that’s what it has to be, whether it’s here or wherever, if that’s what it’s going to take for me to get back in and start playing again, then yeah. I’ll go that route, but you never know what’s going to happen in the next couple of months.” Sounds like he would have tried to "Kevin Kolb slippery mat" Drew Lock at every chance.....watch your back Sam Darnold..

From a talent perspective, no doubt. You likely disagree, but I've never seen the clipboard holder job as solely based on talent. You have to assume your starter is going to get 80+% of the snaps (13 or 14 of 16 games even with an injury). I want a player who knows his main job is to help QB1 with preparation -- be there with him watching film, analyzing, assessing practice and also getting himself mentally ready to play if the unlikely event happens that he does have to play. He is QB1's sounding board who isn't the QB coach or OC. I think its needed. QB2 is going to get very few practice reps after the start of the regular season. I like a low maintenance guy who works hard and supports QB1..the strategy ***** the bed if QB1 goes down for a long time, but odds are having a good role fit QB2 is better than having a divided QB room. Like I said, you likely disagree--but this is my take...

I think he assessed his options and picked the most physically fragile starter..honestly...

1) Own it 2) If its a bigger issue like an addiction ask for help- the Bills and the NFL both have resources to help 3) Realize its part of Ed Oliver's "brand" now...troublemaker, dumb mistake, criminal 4) Learn from it 5) Strive to be your best self every day No BS, No I didn't do it, no blame other's game. This is totally on Ed. I believe his actions from here will show this is a one time thing. I have faith in this kid.

In a normal year, he would be in Buffalo for OTAs and workouts. He will pay a price for this and hopefully use it as a lesson. Just dumb....at least he didn't harm anyone else or himself.

Jetnation sure does not lack any confidence

I have some empathy for Jets fans. We were looking for hope not so long ago as well and grasping at any activity as our ticket to the post season....glad we are past that phase for the time being. I thought Joe Douglas did a serviceable job in the draft this year. In addition to the core of Darnold, Bell -- they stole the strategy from Beane of signing some mid tier OL in bulk to upgrade and added Becton in the Draft. I think Mims was a good pick as well...however I don't necessarily think they made substantial improvements. I think the Bills are pretty significantly improved even accounting for the losses of Lawson, Phillips and Alexander on D.... For the Jets, I think Gase is their "Rex Ryan" coach....a name with experience but just not a good fit for the team and actually a deterrent to progress. I thought Gase was going to be a good head coach when Miami got him -- I was really wrong. -

Examining Brandon Beane’s comp pick hack

Play in a little Jeopardy. The answer is Robert Foster, House Money and Trent Murphy. The question is “who does GM BB turn into picks at the end of training camp this year? -
Examining Brandon Beane’s comp pick hack
JoeF replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good article by Joe Marino.....Beane uses excess talent at positions to create comp-pick like compensation at the end of training camp. Getting picks for Teller and Bodine at the end of TC last year was like comp picks. He turns excess depth into picks--I think its a better strategy than losing core players for a third rounder.- 97 replies

I was a grad student at Biscayne College/St. Thomas University. My graduate assistant job was supervised by a priest who said daily mass in the chapel. I rolled out of bed twice a week or so to make daily mass. Don and Dorothy were always there. He loved Fr. Gerry (the priest) and so I got to ride coattails in post-mass conversations. He gave me some great jabs during the losing streak but a man of faith, grace, class and generosity.

RIP Coach Shula. Loved the fact that he migrated from Crash, Bash and Dash with Csonka, Kiick and Morris to Air Marino.. Favorite Shula quote was from Bum Phillips: He can take his'n and beat your'n and he can take your'n and beat his'n

Final result of the Marcel Dareus trade for Buffalo:
JoeF replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is currently an unrestricted free agent, giving him time to work on his boating and drag racing hobbies while practicing proper social distancing. Being serious for a moment, he did a lot of good in Haiti with his money...he had a lot of tragedy in his life (ESPN would have filled up two draft slides for him) and a lot of mental anguish...wish him the best. https://www.jacksonville.com/sports/20180627/marcell-dareus-donates-125000-to-help-build-classrooms-in-haiti -

I know they are father and son, but damn the apple did not fall far from the tree. My temptation to boo and shout F bombs rose a lot when I saw this still shot in the video. If there is a training camp, I may go a day just to "boo" him. "Hey kid, this is for your dad, 25 years later..." -
My pure speculation....Belichick is going to bottom out the team this year and retire. The Pats will do everything they need to do to get Trevor Lawrence. Josh McDaniels will be the HC. Belichick cares about McDaniels too much to start him off with a crap team with no QB -- that's why he is coaching this year. McDaniels has been exceedingly loyal and Belichick feels the need to repay that loyalty. Loyalty is a honor code with Belichick... With my amazing track record of speculation -- this means tomorrow NE trades for Dalton or signs Newton...

I loved the Zay pick.....We will get a reminder of how wrong we were in the 5th round of the 2021 draft...
