...another term for The Drought
-
Ever wonder about the genesis of the term "Bills Mafia"? What it meant at the start, early on, and now? It started as the name Del Reid gave a group of Bills fans (including him) who had been blocked by Adam Schefter on Twitter for flaming him over his continued questioning of Stevie Johnson's crisis of faith because of The Drop. As it grew, Reid wanted to make it philanthropic. Others wanted to use it so they could have their 15 minutes of internet fame for jumping through tables. Now it's all those things and more. https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/01/12/bills-mafia-buffalo-daily-cover

Seems like YOU need a dominating win. THEY just need a win, preferably with no injuries.

Since the passing of Ralph Wilson in 2014, they've only honored the 2 individuals who were left off it by him: 2015 Lou Saban 2017 Cookie Gilchrist Are we done with the "Super Bowl" era? Cornelius Bennett? James Lofton? Ruben Brown? Eric Moulds? Is any player from the drought era worthy? Kyle Williams? Fred Jackson? Brian Moorman? Aaron Schobel? Eric Wood?

Potential decision made for Championship Game location

I think the main rationale for cancelling the game was two-fold: The only way to play it would have been to eliminate the week off between championships and Super Bowl. This would create a week 19 and make Buffalo/Cincy the only game being played giving every other team a week off - basically putting Bills & Bengals at a competitive disadvantage. It also would affect all playoff teams and they wanted to reduce the scope of disruption The outcome of the game had no impact on who was gonna make the playoffs, only on how the top 3 seeds would end up. Did it end up benefitting KC more than anyone else? Yeah. Rumor heard at the game - neutral site game could be played in Ann Arbor. Biggest stadium in the country. -

Mr. Eisen very eloquently stated what many of us are dealing with today. I know I am guilty of celebrating the violence of the sport, literally reveling in the physical punishment our defense inflicted on Mike White of the Jets a few weeks back. If Milano's hit had been a couple of inches further up and to the right, at a specific time in White's heartbeat... who knows? They're human beings.

NFL Network just had an interview with an emergency care dr from LA about this. She said that the first priority is the brain - getting blood flow back and increasing the chances for normal function. So restarting the heart ASAP after the arrest, then sedating & cooling the body to reduce the metabolism and activity of the brain to maximize potential for a desirable outcome.
