I used to see a LOT of empty seats back in the early '90s when we fielded a winner. The Bills were like the Atlanta Braves where they couldn't fill the stands for playoff games. When the team first started losing in the early '00s after Bruce, Andre and Thurm were given their pink slips all on the same day (it's a wonder we signed Mario) the games were routinely blacked out on TV. Nowadays, though, it seems like the worse the team gets the more tickets they sell. Don't fool yourself, Ralph and his whiz bang CEO Russ would like the team to win every now and then, but they know just what they are doing!

Why do folks think Carrington should replace Dareus? I think if he should replace anyone it should be Kyle Williams. That guy just isn't the same anymore. -
Chances are, the Bills are going to draft a QB in the upcoming draft. Does anyone here have any inside information about what players and schools the Bills scouts have been watching/visiting?

>>>7 200 Buffalo Alec Lemon WR Syracuse God, I hope not. I cannot stand watching "lemon drops." Morrison would have been a good run situation LB. He can stop the run better than any of the LB's we currently have on our roster.

According to Mr. O'Leary, all of the owners had a meeting behind closed doors in which they discussed the consequences of Spygate. Since the NFL employs revenue sharing and several of the teams are worth over a billion dollars the owners allegedly decided to toe the company line and that it would be in their own best interests to make the whole thing go away. Can you imagine the fortunes of the owners that would be lost if the fans stopped watching games? Not just the owners' fortunes but the fortunes of sports networks, news media, players, merchandisers, etc. Also, if the Pats were to have stunk after Spygate, it would have made their cheating look worse. You have to remember that the NFL determined that the taping of other teams signals did not effect the outcomes of the games. The next year, the Pats went 16-0 beating up on teams with huge scores. This may have been done partly because of pampered boy Belichik's arrogance, but it was enabled by the NFL because it helped make folks think "Hey, these guys really are good. They really didn't have to cheat." Since free agency, it has become almost impossible for NFL teams to build long tenured dynasties. The Pats are the only team where it does not seem to matter who their players are or who there assistant coaches and coordinators are. Year in and year out, they achieve the same incredible results. Something is not right. Again, I encourage you to read the book. I am not good at writing book reports, so if you are interested in the truth you will have to find out more for yourself. You can then determine what you want to believe. As fans, we are entitled to our own opinions as to what the Pats did to the rest of the league and what their legacy should be. -

Mr WEO, you really need to read this book. Spygate was, for the most part, swept under the rug by the media. No one wants to see the cash cow that is pro football harmed. It is a billion dollar industry. Belichik and the Pats are still cheating. Roger Goodell is a skunk. The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer. - Edward R. Murrow -

Hey Filthy McNasty (love the name, as I'm a big Horace Silver fan), Thanks for encouraging me to read the book. It was so enlightening. It came in the mail last night, and I could not put it down. I liked how the author used statistics to show that I one would have a better chance of getting electrocuted than the Pats would of going perfect at home during the last five of 11 years. The worst thing is that I feel foolish for having all of those Blue Monday's at work after the Pats would beat the Bills on Sunday. I wonder how guys like Belichik, Adams, Kraft, Goodell and Brady can live with themselves? I encourage every Bills fan to read this book. You will see how the whole Spygate cover-up is still in effect. For if the Pats were to all of a sudden suck, then it would mean that cheating all these years did matter. You may also not feel so down about the Bills after you have read the book. If I did not feel like the Pats cheated in the two matchups that were played this year, we may actually have one or two more wins on our record this year. The Bills (and the Jets and Phins) really don't stand much of a chance of winning as long as "the system" is in place. At no saint, I thought brady's salary this year was more like 7.7 mil? If not, that's good that Kraft is finally paying him. Remember the whole thing when Brady signed his earlier deal for like $30 or $40 mil less than Peyton and Vick during the same offseason even though Brady had already won three Super Bowls and the other guys had not won one? -

It was very interesting how Manginious' and boy wonder Josh McDaniels' coaching tenures turned out. It is especially interesting to note that Belichik earns more money than Brady. If Brady was so awesome, why wouldn't he go play on another team and make twice the salary he makes now? If he is the best QB in the league, he should be paid like a Manning. The answer is simple: all of the players on the Pats are expendible under "the system." I fear we should not expect much, if any production out of Mark Anderson. I also thought it was funny when Doug Flutie accidently put on Brady's helmet and heard the illegal one-way radio frequency used by the Pats. He has never denied this. No wonder Brady seems to have a sixth sense about when a defensive lineman is coming up on his blindside. It is sickening that Roger Goodell enables the Pats' "system" year in and year out. I guess the New England area must bring massive money to the NFL, and for the Pats to play on the level would be akin to seeing the emporer without his clothes. The NFL is all a big joke, mostly played on its unsuspecting fans. The cards are stacked too high against the Bills each year for them to truly compete. We should have been 10-6 or 11-5 instead of 9-7 through some of the 2000's, and made some playoffs. After reading the book, it's amazing that we did so well against the Pats when we played them in Foxboro this year. I am also highly skeptical of the Pats win earlier this year where they made "adjustments" in the 2nd half and came back after trailing by 21 points. Hopefully, someday all of the Pats continued cheating will come to light. However, I fear that it will not come to an end until Belichik retires from the league. -

I just read 'Spygate' last night. The Pats are obviously still cheating. It really makes me sick to my stomach to think that the Bills should have probably won one or two more games every year for the past 11 seasons. The book has really opened my eyes. I never thought Brady was that good of a QB. If he played for another team, he would turn out to be no different than Matt Cassell. It always struck me as odd that the Pats didn't have an offensive and defensive coordinator. I guess with a Rainman-like football guy such as Ernie Adams in the background they didn't need one. Anyway, it makes sense to me that the Bills haven't been able to win at Foxboro. The NFL is sort of like 'The Matrix' to me now. After reading this book, I feel as though I just took the blue pill. The NFL is maybe one half step above the WWE. The Bills and the two other AFC East teams are essentially playing for second (a wild card shot at best) as long as Bellichik and Adams are enabled to cheat in New England. How terribly sad to think that whatever moves our team makes essentially do not matter. Belichik, Adams and Rober Kraft are terrible human beings. -
Cheer Up Bills Fans! There Are Worse Teams in the NFL
Storm Front replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, being an Eagles fan is way worse than being a Bills fan. They haven't won anything since 1960. Their history of regular season and playoff futility is worse than the Bills. Plus, right now they feel about Andy Reid and Michael Vick like we do about Chan Gailey and Pitz. -

I am basing it on the successfulness (winning seasons) of those franchises, and the amount of season-ending heartaches most of those teams have experienced over the last 40 years. Based on heartache, I think being an Eagles fan would be the toughest team of all for which to be a fan. -
As Bills fans, we have all suffered many highs and lows over the years. However, there are NFL franchises that are worse than ours with loyal fans who stick by their teams through thick and thin. Here are some NFL franchises that have been worse than the Bills over the last 40 years: Philadelphia Eagles San Diego Chargers Kansas City Chiefs Jacksonville Jaguars Detroit Lions New York Jets Cleveland Browns Cincinnati Bengals (at least Ohio has the Hall of Fame) Seattle Seahawks Houston Oilers/Tenessee Titans Atlanta Falcons (although they have been decent in recent years)

I said at the beginning of the season that if the Bills finished at .500 it would be a good year. Despite their record, I think the team is showing progress. The defense is coming together, when healthy the OL is top-notch. We have a great RB. We are a QB, LB and WR away from being a playoff team. If we make it to 8-8, I say Chan and Wannastache should stay rather than to start all over again with a new regime.

I cannot think of one single impressive catch that Jones has made in his whole career! Can someone enlighten me? Jones wouldn't be on the taxi squad of any other NFL team.

Dickerson dropped a key pass right at his numbers. Martin couldn't catch when Brett Favre was throwing to him!

The reason we can't stop run plays is poor play from Williams. A lot of folks unreasonably blame Darius. Go back and watch tape. KW has been terribly inconsistent this year.
-
Why is this guy continuosly trotted out onto the playing field? Has he ever caught a big pass in a game? People criticize Fitz hard all the time, but really, who besides SJ does he have to throw to?

He was destroyed at the line all game. I 'm tired of everyone giving him a pass. He is Terrible.

And the reason we lost to the Colts was.....
Storm Front replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kyle Williams got destroyed at the line on every play. The Colts were able to run past him at will. That was the real difference in the game. -
Kyle Williams was completely neutralized against the Colts. It was the difference in the game. Season over. Bills stink since the 20th century.
