Back off stat man. I root for the players on the team. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong, its no more complex than a guess or gut feeling most of the time.

Russ Brandon: "Marrone Has Changed the Bills' Culture"

I gotta think Whaleys not going to stand for this roster hes put together to be trashed by a two win, i mean three win team. -

Did you read the whole paragraph, or just those four words? -
My hindsight senses are tingeling I still dont fully accept the reasoning behind the QB switch. EJ would have probably netted us 7-8 wins this season. Its baffeling to me. Like the Mike Williams thing Like the Urbik thing What the hell is this staff thinking Now im gonna go watch what a real coaching staff can do with a 3rd string QB.

Can Khalil Mack play QB?

I like this Sanchez, butt fumble and all!

Been saying this for a year and a half. Same goes for Russ Wilson/Pete Carrol -
Arent you the guy that said something about personal insults and attacks? Follow your own advice. You post how you want and ill post how i want. X's and O's, nah. Just trying to hone my skills as a wiseass instigator.

Just hope im not jinxing myself by talkin so much smack!

What i should have meant was that i feel that the higher round draft talent was better spent on offensive weapons. Not trying to say ignore the defensive side of the ball. Defense has more salary and talent invested so work on offense. Now, in hindsight we may have gotten similar production out of other offensive pics, but... Hindsight man.
-
I dont normally do this, but im gonna come back to this thread and call all you guys out when Spiller breaks one tomorrow. So have your "its just Oakland" arguements ready
-
Well Spiller has the speed to leave a Defense in the dust on longer runs, where i could see Dixon being able to be caught from behind by the faster DB's and safetys. Dixon probably fits the mould of what the coaches are trying to do though. And sweet turnstyle btw (:
-
Dixons a different kind of runner though. A bigger powerback id say. Spillers a faster shifty more elusive type. Both are weapons. Both are assets. I just wanna see us beat NE
-
His reputation as a home run threat wasnt built on running up the middle out of i- formation. If the coaches use him with creativity hes a threat. If the opposing D coordinators dont account for him theyre fools. Every time #28 gets the ball i get ready to jump up and start cheering. He will be highly motivated tomorrow, against a weaker opponent, hopefully get in a groove, then on to NE. thats all i was getting at in my original comment.
-
Im not much of an i told you so type, im just excited about the win at GB, and excited about getting one of our better offensive weapons back for the last two games. And yeah, your original CJ mythology comment i just took as a bit of negativity towards a good player. Stats can be manipulated to show a one sided arguement so theres that. So its senseless to go around in circles. I like CJ, you do not. I get it.
-
My original point was just that CJ brings a unique aspect to the offense thats another layer to gameplan around. Picking and choosing specific stats to argue against that is insulting. Hes a dynamic runner and if you and Mr Weo dont see that then thats how you chose to look at his game. I aint gonna change your mind and im not gonna try. I dont quite know why youre getting into it when he took the first jab at my original comment, but if youre sticking up for your guy then woohoo for you And he absolutly cherry picked by posting the stats under the conservative game plan since Marrone/Hackett been running things. Which i stated in my original response to him. Now one last thing, stats are for geeks. If youre not jumping up on your couch and yelling at the screen when CJ's got the ball past 4 yrds with daylight you aint got no heart, that guy's electric when he breaks 'em!

Consider the fact that Brandons success in marketing and regionalizing the team came during a span where the entire league has skyrocketed in value. The value of franchises has blown up, and fan bases have seen enoroumous growth in Brandons tenure. So maybe its not that hes doing anything right or wrong, but enjoying the success of an entertainment industy that just simply appeals to people. I think Brandon fit an ageing Ralph Wilsons MO perfectly, as Ralph knew he needed someone he could trust to work in his parameters, which was keep up with the demand for what they were supplying. Ralph could have done Brandons job himself when he was younger, but you know, Ralph got into his 80's, had the cash, and wanted to semi retire. In walks Brandon. I suspect the Pegulas will keep him for a bit, but i dont see Brandon here past next season because Kim will either be able to do that job herself, or theyll get their own guy. The Pegulas are billionaires, i dont see why they would want some other billionaires guy. Brandon reminds me so much of Andrew Cuomo -
Someone that wants to win a football game, thats who. But cherry pic meaningless stats from an ultra conservative offensive game plan 6 game stretch if it makes you feel smart.
-
Youre livin in the past man, look to the future. CJ brings mad skills to the game. As a defense, if you dont account for him he will hurt you. A powerback he is not, but if he can break through the front 7 hes dangerous as hell

Youve got tha all 22 and you still cant tell what defense theyre in. And you say Manuel is slow... I kid, i kid I read somewhere that we were out of position on that play b/c it was one of the only times in the game where we were trying some kind of defensive trickery. Wasnt blown coverage at all, was designed that way -
Khalil Mack is great, but dont forget, we thought wed have Kiko this year. We just didnt need anymore linebackers no matter how good, we needed offensive weapons. I think Whaley made the correct descision

To be fair, Rodgers does have 4more games this season (: -
CJ is always gonna be a home run threat that other teams have to game plan for. Let him get his game legs warmed up against a bad Oakland team that will be running for the buses. Then give NE another dimension to our offense to have to worry about, then he'll be ready and important piece of the puzzle for our playoff run. (:

Which QB would you like in the draft?
TSOL replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who the hell can evaluate any of these guys? Teams spend hundereds of thousands of dollars on big scouting departments, professionals whose entire lives are devoted to figuring out who the next great QB is and they still get it wrong more often than not. Its a guessing game. Speculation and a good healthy arguement is always fun though. Carry on!
