Im pretty supportive of Whaley, but it was a dumb move. Plus, i dont think Ralph would have allowed the trade, making it even more dubious, in my eyes.
I dont think it cripples us, but, trading a future 1st rounder for a WR?
DOH!
The way the Cowboys supported Romo, Kapernick has had tons of support. The list could go on.
Good coaches dont do what Marrone did. I truely despise Marrone for that.
That said, EJ needs to man up, like now
EJ has some skills. I think his biggest obstacale is leadership. Hes gotta prove it to the guys in the locker room. Hes gotta take the Buffalo by the horns, because this offense is screaming for a leader.
Hes got God given talent, and the mentality for it, whether that will ever translate onto the field, i dont know. I do know Marrone wasnt doing him any good.
I also think Bruce Araians wouldve given his left testicle for EJ going into the playoffs this year. With the injury mess Arizona had with their QB situation this year
So you trust Marrone. Got it.
Its been said you better count your fingers after shaking hands with him.
And id LOVE to see a link where other NFL coaches and personnel depts comment on EJ Manuel.
Id be willing to bet Whaley brings in a vet, and drafts a rookie this off season.
Id also be willing to bet neither one will be very thrilling.
As far as a vet, id like to see them bring in a good character guy, someone that fits well in the locker room. Someone to offer significant competition for EJ to hopefully win the job against.
This talk of him being "annointed" is absurd. Hes earned his spot on an NFL roster. No one is "annointed" a roster spot. Hes there because he deserves to be there.
Put Romo on the 2014 Bills. Do we still miss the playoffs? Behind that O line and running game.
Put EJ on 2014 Cowboys, full FO support, behind that O line and running game. Do they miss the playoffs.
A QB needs support to succeed.
I DO NOT trust Marrones evaluation of EJ. Marrone clearly had an agenda all year.
Beyond that i dont think Marrone is even capable of developing a QB, he knew it and was scared to even try.
I said 45 seconds.
Hes got skills, he didnt make it to where he is by being annointed. He may need to mature, and have a reasonable group around him, which he hasnt had.
I couldnt make my point to you anymore clear if i was using crayons and construction paper.
If you wanna hang onto he sucks, thats your bidness, hes a viable NFL QB from where im looking at it.
