It's not about "Carrying us into those playoffs?" OJ gained 2003 yards in 1973 but he didn't carry us to the playoffs and he was one of the best slashers in the game. It's his value on the market and when you take a look at his stats when he was a STARTER I think most teams would put him ahead of Atrain and the old Bus. How do you know what Travis will do with his next team, their is no way anyone knows that. Of those 3 players it's Travis that has the most upside. The guy played threw a broken leg for half a season and gained 3000 yards in the last two seasons he started. Some team most likely the Cards will get a very good player.
I think KJ was a very good WR with the Browns but fell out of favor by asking for to much money....saying that I didn't see him at all last year so I don't know what happened in Baltimore.
I've looked at Stamer on ST on a tape of the Jets game in Buffalo and the Cards game and he's impressive. I dissapointed in Jeff Posey but I'm just not sure if Stamer would be better. I'll say this in that Stamer has a nastiness and has more aggression than Posey but your right the No 1 priority on this defense in the offseason should be finding a real LDE who can rush the QB. I like Kelsey but he does not get to the QB enough at this point in his career but that can change at any time.
He just had the 3 best years of his career and now wants big money so why should we help NE out again? Please don't get me wrong he's the best in the league and would be an upgrade over AL but he'll kill our cap. We've already did this wth Milloy and Bledsoe. Does anyone know his age? I just can't see paying huge dolloars for a kicker when we might be able to find a quality kicker for much less. JMO
I totally agree Bill. I think he's done very well in free agency, but like Pittsburg his drafts are not all that good. He did well in 2001 and taking a chance on Willis but the 2002 draft is a disaster. The Vikings also have a big dissapointment with Mckinnie so it wasn't like we should have taken him but he totally whiffed at Reed and Denny.
I saw that comment also and laughed. They need to go back and take a look at some games. In no way would they come back with that same comment. They need to look at the Steeler, Raider, Jets (In New York) and of corse both Patriot games.
I believe the main ingredient for an FA is cash. It all comes down to what a GM is willing to come up with and how it figures into the cap. Their are other facters but a player will look past that if the bling bling is right.
