Crowell out for Sunday's game...
jimmy griffin replied to ricojes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not a good point. the injuries may not be related. we have no idea what both are and there extent. more importantly, the bills should have added even more depth at lb. the injury to the draftie hurt - bowers, but still, they needed more depth and failed there. hopefully they can pickup some scubs who can tackle and then rely on our front rotation. our def. is on for a long year. -

Crowell out for Sunday's game...
jimmy griffin replied to ricojes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This LB crew sucks. Mitchell is the real deal. But he aint god. POZ, as you have heard me post before on, is undersized and a chump. No disrespect to you fans who like him, but he is a weakling. Against small RBs he is effective. But I dont want my inside LB to be a panzie. He gets run over every play. Just an opinion, based on my criteria for the position. Now, outside of Mitchell, there is NO ONE AVAILABLE. Crowell was an average player -- as we know, but steady. Ellison is a strong safefty who looked terrible last season. There is no depth. I would like to see a trade. Get on the horn Russell, and snag a LB from somewhere fast or its going to be painful when we face ground games with big backs... -
Paul Posluszny Not Practicing
jimmy griffin replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Should be exciting to see Walter Jones pancake Shoebel and then tatoo Digeorgio Pizza ten (10) feet into the air as Julius Jones gets gang tackled in the second level. Injuries will kill a team. Kevika Mitchell is the only guy I trust of the LBs. He plays a sound overall game. The other LBs are weak weak weak... I'm sure Poz and Crowell will play. I woudl be surprised if they paly 16 games each however -- this season. -
Donte Whitner: "Emerging AFC Star"
jimmy griffin replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before you keep hurling insults around, you should watch some footbal and read some reports as to what players are doing and not doing arond the league. Huff is the next gret safety -- anyone on the west coast will tell you that . Pro personal guys are drooling over his play. HE IS ALL OVER THE FIELD. As far as Donte, he is WAY WAY overpriced. He has not impacted a game a SINGLE play -- in my viewing experience. He is a solid player. A vocal leader. So what? He is not a big play guy - -and was drafted too high. I like him, but he aint Huff and will never be an impact player. Simple as that. Keep reading your stat book and read my posts. You are learning things about the game and enriching your knowledge slowly. I'm kind of like your mentor. -
Recommendations for FF cheat sheet?
jimmy griffin replied to Hardy Pyle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
just follow a cheet street don't look at past injuries, schedule, team or salary considerations. jsut pick right off the cheet street. there is NO science behind it. it pure chance. -

So what has Matt Murphy done to make the team?
jimmy griffin replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he has a pulse and plays left tackle. and there isn't anyone else they have to keep -- the talent is thin on this team...no their cuts were bums -
So Josh Reed made the team
jimmy griffin replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he has matured a great deal. a flats guy or a guy who finds a soft spot in a zone to sit down in. he has NO vertical game. he value is suspect IMO. i mean, i dont think he is a very good blocker down field and i dont see him drawing coverages. hardy should start with parrish as the slot guy. reed, while he is servicable, does not make the team better. dont mean to be pesimistic or negative about the guy, because he is not a bad palyer. he simply does not do anything to enhance the offense. not dynamic. WRs in the NFL all seem to dynamic to valuable. weather it is welker who can run after the catch or vertical guys who block well (mcCaffrey - Denver yrs ago). reed is a flanker, i guess? -
again, both were juniors when they came out. they took extra time to develope. in addition, both got inujured -- and lost a season. as such, they are really 2nd yr guys. both from top programs and schools. both showing promise and play making ability. mccargo di not regress. to the contrary, he showed good penetration and stodd tall on run plays and held his line at the POA. mccargo has learned to play with better leverage and rolls his hips nicely now. stroud will further develope his instincts and refine his hand checks and bull rush. i've posted about ashton. i watched him at camp for a few days. compared to the other defensive guys, he stood out for a number of reasons. he is athletic and the bills and he are starting to harniss that. he is still a little loose. greer, as i have said other, is primed for a very nice season. he looked much bigger and more confidant. look for him to be a surprise. if the fron can get a good push and the blitze packages work -- or stunts -- the corners will look much better.

giants were on life support half season. lost shockey to injury. jacobs injured game one. then they lost buress. then that epic game vs. the redskins. they saw and learned a lot. their offensive line was terrific. and of course their front 4 def. line. good pickup = kavika

harvey williams had the longest neck i have ever seen. he was a RB for the chiefs. shifts. merton hanks, safety for the niners, had a long neck too.

buffalo is located next to niagara falls. now i have posted something obvoise too.

they canplau anyoen into that system and win. belichek knows how to protect them. nice when you have 4 all pros rushing the passer each play -- and vrabel blitzing. the corners have an easy day at the office.

that chic in ur avantar is cute. who is she? tell us about her. -
ASHTON IS still a little loose. he was also a junior when he came out. so he is right were mccargo is -- both a yr behind. marv knew what he was doing and got very green value from top schools that would develop later on. these guys would have been 1st rounders. ashton has a knack. in watching hin at camp, he and greer looked very active and athletic. nice balance, playn with sound leverage and smarts. they made james look like terrible and slow. greer also looked bigger and more physcial. i think he will be a special player this season. from rags to riches. lets hope eugene parker doesn't solicit him.

Donte Whitner: "Emerging AFC Star"
jimmy griffin replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
donte is an above average player. he is nowhere near as good as huuf of LA however =the other safety taken in that draft. i dont know what ot think of donte -- especially aft he refused to tackle jacobs on the bog TD run at home last season. i watched that play over and over. done had the angle and jacobs ran right past him. donte looked scared to challenge jacobs -- a hulking freight train running a 4.5. 40. but still, i'm miffed. we shall see, he sure talks a big game. and his salaryh is HUGE! HE MAKES way too MUCH MONEY FOR HIS VALUE RIGHT NOW. -

Demitrius Bell wants a new contract...
jimmy griffin replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
next season, i can't wait to see bell dominate the front -- like his dad, karl malone used to. good for bell making the team! -
while the others have struggled, billy mcmullen has been great. he looks huge out there and was pushing, when skiins /bills played, leonis around like a rag doll. he has offset the rookies proplems. billy can also block downfield like a wildman. lomis swed is silky smooth. he runs good routes and will be used this season. hardy is powerful.. for a tall guy, his lower body is huge and developed. this helps with his balance and change of direction. anyone will tell ya that these guys have to be able to block downfield. hardy has that power

edwards will be the next brady/roethlisberger
jimmy griffin replied to robert's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
totally disagree on brady. he worked on hus release seasonn 3 and now thorws with his legs and has a very hard throw. he can make any pass. and some would say has a strong arm. his body has also grown. he has added ab out 20-30 pounds since mich. edwards is attempting to do this. brady has a great def wh ogives him good field position. he also has an OL that is a wall to throw behind. creative off. coor helps too. -
edwards will be the next brady/roethlisberger
jimmy griffin replied to robert's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
aikman had a gun son. montana and young were limp wristed. quote name='robert' date='Aug 29 2008, 11:15 PM' post='1109911'] u forgot to mention that walsh traded up 4 jerry rice.... and that all of the qbs mentioned had great talent and hardly anyone around them, also plummer was pretty damn good in my opinion, a franchise qb, no. a good qb yes.... thats all walsh said. i dont recall walsh ever saying this guy is the next montana. walsh specifically told levy to draft edwards based on walsh's evaluation and scouting/coaching roots at stanford. the guy went under the radar at stanford because the team around him was horrible. trust me after this year people will b saying edwards is the next great efficient qb. like brady, manning and aikman. by the way anyone on this board that thinks manning and brady r known 4 there arm strength doesnt know that much about them and where there strength is, its there brain!
