  1. Who cares? A "less-than-stud-lineman" from a low-tier arena league is there for a reason, so I'd say no, the guys we have on our roster, guys who've made an NFL team, are better than the linemen from the Moonsocket Shriners of the Mass semi-pro league.
  2. I'd say he has better command of his faculties than the majority of TSW posters. We're a 1/2 game out of first place in week 7. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have to admit that I'm not too terribly upset by that...
  3. If they lose against NE, I think they'll give JP the start after the bye. If they win, we're in first place and they stick with KH.
  4. Yup. Because there are bunches of bona fide stud linemen just hanging out by the phone waiting to be called 7 weeks into the season.
  5. Wow. 59 points and they still covered by more than 2 TDs. That's some stuff right there.
  6. Just shouting it from the rooftops I guess.
  7. It looks a lot like you're saying you are more concerned with a societal attention deficit disorder than you are a fabricated cassus belli. As evidenced by his coordination of the 9/11 attacks? Or was it the WMDs? There are two ways to look at that. It could be that the GOP and Dems in Congress had planned on using the resolution to demonstrate strength in a diplomatic setting. The cynic in me just thinks that they were trying to win votes in the next election. You're not saying that only Dems are guilty of political double talk to get elected/re-elected, are you? I would love to get into shrub's flip-flops if you'd like... Assuming that diplomacy and sanctions were ineffective (which they oftentimes are when US contractors subvert them), the concept we'd "have to deal with him eventually" was only used in the context of his non-existant WMD program. As there was no WMD program, it becomes moot. "Peddling influence to potentially resume fun and games? Or perhaps the sanctions were based upon certain criteria, like WMDs, that he obviously was meeting. That's a pretty !@#$ed up thing to say. Just because some of us oppose the war, or because some of us are able to admit that some of our nation's leaders and their policies are flat out wrong for the country (if they're not illegal), does not mean that we want our soldiers, our fellow citizens, to be killed. The world isn't black and white. Just because we oppose the war doesn't mean we hate America. I guess the right-wing's media rhetoric has convinced you otherwise. And that's just sad.
  8. I'm not quite as concerned with the $9 spent on a certified letter as I am the the $1829 per household spent in Iraq. That said, it is pretty dumb that they'd invest more than 12 seconds discussing The Onion in the White House.
  9. Stick to hockey dave Considering they played and lost to the Pats by 10 (in wk 1 before their injuries), Eagles by 3, Chargers by 13, Chiefs by 6, I think what he's saying is that the Pats, Eagles, Chargers, and Chiefs played them better than Bflo did. He's also hinting that the Pats, Eagles, Chargers, and Chiefs are better than Bflo. Hardly an earth-shattering revelation IMO.
  10. Bad coaching? They haven't changed coaches, yet Brees seems to be OK. What, exactly, did you see that led you to believe that Brees suffered from bad coaching?
  11. He chose the guy that was graded highest by what most people believe is among the league's better scouting departments. I think he knows what he's doing, despite the protestations of all of the second-guessers and message board experts.
  12. I agree, but a difference is that I have faith that TD is smart enough to not re-sign Clements - especially for top CB money.
  13. For some reason she became a media darling. I guess she must be fairly charismatic too - her message resonated with many people. So let's review. You have a person with an agenda, a person who can get the major news outlets falling all over themselves to cover her, and that's the best she can come up with - tie herself to a fence on Penn Ave?
  14. BillsBackersofVirginia.com. Scroll to the bottom of the page to "Bills/Saints Coverage."
  15. Taking one's own life by sheer stupidity isn't tragic, it's Darwinism.
  16. I've learned a lot about eye problems over the past year... You're right that most people present symptoms earlier in life, but it's not entirely unheard of that it develops in older people too. It's called "myopic creep" when the eye slowly elongates from front to back. It's no biggie, you're just nearsighted. Like most medical thingies, if it worsens quickly, go see your ophthalmologist. In the meantime, wear your glasses, go for annual check ups, and don't sweat it.
  17. There is none higher. Sucker MCs shpuld call them "sire." I can't believe I actually remembered that.
  18. Why was he in the shotgun? Oh yeah, to buy him time. Thanks again, OL.
  19. Willis has started, what, 16 games? Thus far, his stats are better than Thomas' were. Will he end being as good, or better than Thurm over the course of his career? I'm not holding my breath, but I hope so.
  20. Yeah, based on what I've seen of his play, that was pretty uncharacteristic of Holcomb. In fact, it was downright Losman-esque.
  21. I don't think "their" done at all. There aren't too many LBs in the league that can make plays when they have OL in their face. Unfortunately for us, our DL oftentimes seems unable to keep opponents' OL off of our LBs. With a solid run-stopping DT to play alongside big Sam, out think our LBs would be fine.
  22. I'd be more inclined to vote for a QB switch if I thought Holcomb played poorly. He still made good reads and good throws, and IMO, is the least of our worries. If the OL and DL doesn't step up, having Johnny Unitas back there wouldn't make a difference. I think that Holcomb should get the nod next week, but if Bflo loses, let JP get some OTJ training the rest of the way - and pray he doesn't get killed playing behind our OL.
