  1. Having lived in Hampton Roads for 17 years now, methinks you may have forgotten that the area has produced some stand-up athletes. Aside from that minor point, I agree with you 100%. I love the life I've built for myself here in Va Bch, but WNY will always be home.
  2. It was Lynch, not the the NFL, who screwed us this time. He already had the hit-and-run, that should have been his wake up call. Ignorance can be cured, stupid is forever. I hope he's the former, but afraid he's the latter.
  3. I'd be OK with a move to TO - it's still in the neighborhood - but anywhere else, there'd be no reason for me to watch football.
  4. Probably, but not me. I was among his biggest critics - and also among the first posters to call for Trent to start over him. That said, I have no problem with JP. He, by all accounts, is a stand up guy. He poured his heart into the community and had it yanked out by being benched. His response was to ask for a trade - once. Since that time, you haven't heard him complain or try to divide the locker room. He's handled a very difficult and likely humiliating situation very professionally, and I'm of the opinion he should be appreciated for doing so.
  5. I'm with you, drg2021. It would be the greatest season, but not the greatest team IMHO.
  6. I also wrote that "I'm not saying a guy dealing coke by the kilo, or a rapist, or any other violent criminal shouldn't go away for a long time" in the same post, so I guess we're in agreement there.
  7. I can appreciate the points both you and scribo are making, and I can see where both of you are coming from. I'm not saying I have a solution or a fix, but I did have a thought while reading your exchange with scribo: Stiff penalties don't seem to deter criminals, unless they're the types of criminals who are thinking they'll get caught - a type which I don't believe exists. Again, I'm not saying a guy dealing coke by the kilo, or a rapist, or any other violent criminal shouldn't go away for a long time, but it just seems like stiff penalties as a deterrence aren't as effective as we'd like it to be.
  8. I'd say it's much more favorable of the need for a salary cap in baseball than it is of the Bills. In fact, other than stating that the Bills will finish ahead of the Pats* because of free agency and the Bretts because of the Madden Curse, and pointing out that Dallas currently has more losses than Bflo, it doesn't really say much about the Bills at all. "As long as a salary cap means teams like the Bills can someday top the Patriots and the standings, it will be good for baseball" is nearly insulting to Bflo...
  9. There are a lot of reasons to be critical of Mort. I'm not sure his comments about the D are one of them. Just my 2¢...
  10. I kinda' like that most "experts" and fans seem unaware of what the Bills are doing.
  11. I didn't hear the trade rumors about him, so I did some poking around and found this from Pro Football Weekly:
  12. Gettin' after him, eh? Well, I can't claim to speak of Kiffin's character - and not being there, who's really to say? That said, we do know Al Davis...
  13. I think he might be so frequently overlooked because of a hangover from the disappointment and frustration we all felt after his first few couple of seasons. There were more than a couple of raised eyebrows around here (mine included) after he was re-signed. Maybe the guys at OBD really do know something we don't?
  14. I'm impressed you recognized it although it's not so much "historical" as it is clan lore. But it's also quite current. It's still in use by the clan, of which I'm a member. EDIT: I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that my avatar is a celebration of the clan, not some pity party. It's not about how the English crown used members of the clan, setting them up to take the fall for Glencoe. No crying or whining, just pride - just like the 90-93 Bills.
  15. For the url challenged... Link to their main NFL page. Link to their Power Rankings.
  16. Nor am I. After all, these are real people and not Madden avatars.
  17. Since you live in the Bay area, what do the fans think about this? Last time they fired a coach at week 4, it was Shanny. While he's not my favorite coach by any stretch, you can't argue with the success he's had in Denver. Are the fans getting closer to turning on Davis, or are they resigned to the fact that it's just business as usual for the Raiders?
  18. Gainzo, Look, with the exception of that ridiculous accent you likely have, I'm sure you're a decent enough person. If any of us were to bump into you at a random pub in a random city, we'd likely get along. But here's the catch: It's a Bills message board. If you want to talk football, especially Bills football, that would probably be better received. Instead, you chose to post about us. And deep down inside, we really don't care about you, your feelings, or your opinion of us. The reason for this is simple; You're not one of us. Please keep these truths in mind during your next visit. Warmest regards, Us.
  19. I'd rather see ugly throwbacks one or twice a year than the hideous road jerseys we see 8 times a year.
  20. Are you trying to put her between Scylla and Charybdis?
