  1. I don't know if I've ever seen a center push a QB before. Like Herbie just said, the center shouldn't have done that, and McCarron shouldn't be getting in his face like that...
  2. What does Saban sleeping through an advanced art class have to do with his failure in the NFL? And what do either have to do with Marrone?
  3. He was making a comment based upon what you said, I don't see where he was arguing or debating. In other words, your response was kinda dickish. Relax, have a drink, smoke something, do whatever it is you do to take the edge off...
  4. The Irish "fans" have certainly come out of the woodwork this season. As obnoxious as they are, it'll be nice to see them all disappear after ND returns to irrelevance next season. Roll Tide
  5. Evident to you, me, and (most) other Bills fans, but it probably doesn't hurt to make it known to prospective coaches that they will not be handcuffed when choosing their staff.
  6. I got about two sentences into the original post and just stopped. I just don't see the 'Skins trading him before next off-season, and even then, they might not.
  7. Marrone wouldn't have been my first choice, but I decided to keep an open mind. And after hearing his presser, I'm on board. The guy just sounds like a football coach. Have any of you changed your opinion based on what you heard?
  8. Retatta - a meal a former poster would talk (rave) about. He contributed the recipe to the TBD/TSW "cookbook." Rosened - a board crashed by Jay Rosen Belinda - when you don't have much to say on a given topic NJ Sue's Homework - She was taking college classes and made the mistake of asking for help/thoughts/opinions on her assignments and was teased needlessly and mercilessly. (I'm not a big fan of teasing people - but then again, I'm an adult)

  10. It didn't strike me when I first watched it, but after reading your post and re-watching some of the video, there are a couple of plays where an argument could be made that he's somewhat Kelly-esque. To my eye, it was on 3-step drops in the way he planted his back foot and then his follow-through motion. That said, it may have less to do with him than it does with us watching Fitz's convulsed throw over the last few years!
  11. "The Browns landed in Arizona and spent valuable time zeroing in on their No. 1 target. Meanwhile, their No. 2 target, Doug Marrone, became the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills. The Eagles also were interested in Marrone" http://www.nfl.com/n...k-at-square-one
  12. I don't know who this SDS guy is, but he nailed it! (By the way, good job on WBEN this morning Scott!)
  13. Any given Sunday is fair enough... Especially in a league where the level of talent across teams is, for the most part, fairly close. And while I'll readily admit that Marrone wasn't my first choice, he did field winning teams for a college program that was coming off of consecutive double-digit loss seasons in a relatively short period of time - and by no one's account did SU have a particularly talented roster. In fact, from what I've read about him so far, he sounds like a guy who is highly respected throughout the league - and he does have NFL experience as both, a player, and a coach. Drew Brees seems to think more highly of Marrone than you do. You don't know me from Adam, nor I you, so understand that it's nothing personal, but I find myself valuing Brees' thoughts on our new coach much more than I do yours. Will Marrone lead Buffalo to a Super Bowl win? I hope so, but given that only 1 in 32 coaches each year leads their team to hoisting a Lombardi, the odds are certainly against him. That being said, wouldn't you agree that it's a bit premature to bury the guy and claim his hiring is "the worst possible thing that could have happened" before he's even held his first minicamp OTA?
  14. If that's the case, I'm assuming you believe every opponent the Bills play in 2013 will have an exponentially better coach. And with coaching as bad as Buffalo's, they'll be lucky to win 1 or 2 games this season, does that sound right to you?
  15. Really? Saying the Bills' hired a coach who wasn't the guy you wanted to get the job was "the worst thing that could have possibly happened" is not hyperbole? Here, maybe this well help: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Hyperbole
  16. I was hoping for Mike McCoy or Lovie Smith but will certainly pull for Marrone. When Marrone's name first came up, I did some googling. And after reading the Pitoniak's blog post above, I'm getting much more comfortable with this hiring. Per Pitoniak, Drew Brees said he “loved working with Marrone because Doug knew offenses inside and out, was meticulous in his preparation and was a great leader.” Whether you like or don't like the hiring, I'd suggest you click on the link 26CornerBlitz posted, it's worth the two minutes...
  17. It may not be applicable to your life experience, most well-adjusted adults can get along well with somebody not the same age, not from a similar geographic region, and do not have the same employers listed on their resume'. While it's doubtful Nix will be around in a few year's time, the Marrone hiring is by no means confirmation of it.
  18. I'm expecting a coach that will run the ball more, make better personnel choices in specific situations, trust his placekicker, and demonstrate better clock management. I'm expecting a QB that can manage a game but has the arm strength to throw downfield. I'm expecting better play from the LBs and continued improvement from the DL and DBs. And I'm expecting that, if those things happen, Bflo will be good enough to contend for the playoffs. To start looking at next year's opponents now and trying to figure out who will win and who will lose specific games strikes me as more than just a little inane.
  19. I was in my early 20s, and it was 8 days after my mother lost her battle with cancer, 36 days after my father lost his life in an auto accident. My parents were both big Bills fans and I couldn't help but think that maybe, somehow, they played a role in the outcome of that game, if for no other reason, to provide me with a few moments of joy in what had been a pretty crappy holiday season. I'm not saying they did, but back then, thinking they may have certainly gave me some comfort. I know, strange, right?
  20. Not knowing the off-season moves of the Bills (or of next year's opponents) and you're making predictions for next year? Seems legit.
  21. Yep... Fate comes a-knockin' Doors start lockin' Your old time connection Change your direction You ain't gonna change it Can't rearrange it Can't stand the pain When it's all the same to you, my friend
