  1. Cool, thanks. I agree with him. A bunch of guys with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and the impression I'm getting from afar is they're making a lot of bone-headed plays and penalties.
  2. Did they interview Marrone becore the half? If so, was he PO'd? What did he say?
  3. I was thinking either bursa or torn meniscus. I've had both - the meniscus tear required arthroscopic surgery to grind off the piece that was sticking up/out and I was off crutches in about 10 days...
  4. If he's saying that to fans, he talks too much.
  5. ... and The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language says to capitalize it when used as a noun referring to a member of the USMC. http://www.ahdictionary.com/word/search.html?q=marine Either way is "correct" but I choose to capitalize it as a sign of respect.
  6. If he's like Belicheck after a loss, I'm cool with that. In fact, I'd say a Bills coach getting PO'd after a loss is long overdue...
  7. EJ's also been getting much more vanilla looks, Kolb isn't - and it's a lot easier to look good when the D isn't blitzing or disguising things as much, is it not? I think it's nothing more than a HC and OC being smart - they're bringing EJ along slowly, letting him experience success, gain experience and confidence, and gradually ramping up the degree of difficulty to ensure his trajectory toward a starting role is a positive experience. How many times have we seen young QBs get frustrated and start to push too much and/or try too hard? Inevitably, they get even more frustrated because doing that doesn't lead to success, and they try even harder and push even more - it becomes a vicious self-defeating cycle that is hard to break. I'm sure Marrone thinks EJ will eventually be the guy, but I sincerely believe the Week 1 starter is not predetermined. I think it will be the QB that he feels gives his offense the best opportunity to succeed. I don't feel, from Marrone's perspective, that there's some master plan beyond what I outlined above.
  8. This thread is just... surreal. Perhaps challenging Chandler's comments in the relevant thread would have been a better play, no?
  9. In nautical lore they say it's good luck to have repeated letters in a vessel's name. I've long since sold her, but I had 23' deep V runabout, and had she been a bit bigger, I would have named her "Buffalo Belle," kind of a play on our team's name.
  10. Saddened by this news. A lot. Condolences to his surviving family.
  11. The biggest problem with Stevie's joke was that it wasn't one; jokes are funny.
  12. I'd wager it was originally cribbed from Arthur Ashe: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
  13. The club expects that the players will practice hard, that they'll hit the weight room and really get after it, that they'll do their workout routines while home in the offseason, that they'll follow their nutrition plans to the letter, and that they'll sweat, ache, hurt, and sometimes even bleed during their preparation. But if they lose on Sunday, they really haven't done anything. To summarize, it's reminder that they are in a results-oriented business and success is not measured by how hard they try, but by the score when the final gun sounds.
  14. Yep. I knew going in to be patient this year, I expected a few 2nd and few more 3rd level FAs. I certainly didn't expect things to come to a screeching halt. I'm really hoping there's a tangible plan in place and this isn't a sign of incompetence...
  15. It seems like Stevie wants whoever the next QB is to throw to him and Darrius Heyward-Bey... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/13/stevie-johnson-wants-darrius-heyward-bey-in-buffalo/
  16. HIPAA applies to any individual, practice or organization licensed by their state to provide healthcare services. A licensed doctor writes a script for cannabis, a patient takes the same to the OP's licensed dispensary, and said dispensary fills the prescription. How is that different from Walgreen's, CVS, or Rite Aid, and why wouldn't HIPAA apply?
  17. A valid comment, but there are a couple of differences: OJ's alledged crime took place after his playing days were over. And after all was said and done, OJ wasn't embraced as a media darling - unlike Lewis, who will be on a pregame show next year. In fact, it seems that OJ's onfield accomplishments have been/still are largely ignored by most talking heads... EDIT: typo correction
  18. Hackett on Nassib: Q: What about his NFL future? A: I’m not sure about that. You never know. Everybody has their own likes and their wants. If I was in the NFL, I know I would want him. He loves the cold. He’s a tough, tough guy. He took some hits today which crushed me because I didn’t want him to take some hits. http://www.trendingbuffalo.com/sports/bills-oc-gushes-over-syracuse-qb-ryan-nassib/
  19. Good points, I couldn't argue with a single one of them if I had wanted to. When a new coach is hired, I try to find the positives - I look for the reasons OBD thought "This guy'll work." Maybe it's because I can't control their decisions, but I don't get too wrapped up in it. They bring a guy in, and even if he wasn't my first choice (like Marrone), I try to read/hear/learn enough about the guy to get behind him. I did a fair amount of reading on Marrone and what he brings to the table, I liked what I read. The clincher for me was the presser. To me, he sounded like the type of guy Buffalo needs and I'm genuinely looking forward to see what this coming season hold for our team. All that said, I'm a 44 year old Bills fan. I've been through many more lows than highs; my optimism is always guarded, I understand where you're coming from.
  20. Just havin' a little fun with your typos, lighten up. But what does Saban have to do with Marrone? ...Or is it that you wanted them to pick a different guy so you decided to take shots at the guy they did?
