  1. He's trying very hard - and by all accounts, succeeding - in building a culture of high expectations. I don't think that's bad thing.
  2. Not much, which is significantly lower than what the front office has invested in him and is the reason it's EJ's job to lose. Personally, I think EJ has a much higher upside than Lewis, and I'm not as confident as you appear to be that Lewis is the better QB right now.
  3. I want to scream every time I hear/read that because I believe you put the ball in the hands of your playmakers and trust them to make a play and get first.
  4. A completed pass inbounds requires two points of contact. Today, the Miami receiver's foot and knee made contact with the ground inbounds so he had two points of contact. With Chandler's a few weeks ago, he had one foot, but no knee or elbow. His butt eventually hit but it wasn't until his foot was out of bounds.
  5. As far as I'm concerned, the only rankings that matter are the NFL's. This whole "Power Rankings" things is joke played on the simple minded. Don't be simple. I mean really, who cares about arbitrary rankings?
  6. Why? I mean, if they're 4-1, things are looking pretty good and they'd have little reason to change, amIright? Stevie's the best number 2 in the league. Too bad we rely on him to be a number 1.
  7. You don't think learning 15 plays in two days and throwing to guys whose names he didn't even know played a part in any of that? My biggest concern is that he appears to lock on to his primary receiver. If people complained about that with EJ, I'm afraid it'll be almost unbearable with Thad. But he's still a better option than Tuel right now.
  8. They said they'd look outside of the club and they did. They evidently didn't find anybody they thought was better than Lewis. And don't get too wound up about Tuel's confidence being damaged. He's a career backup (if he's lucky), and I think he probably knows that. I'm sure he's not too psyched about not being names the starter, but I don't think it'll wreck his ability to carry clipboards for the next 2-3 years. It's entirely possible they felt it was easier to sneak Lewis onto the practice squad than Tuel who got a lot of reps in preseason due to injuries to Kolb and EJ, and it's entirely possible they thought Lewis was better than Tuel all along. Who knows? The coaches have found themselves in an undesirable situation, and they're scrambling to be sure. But what NFL team wouldn't be if they were on their 3rd string QB? For all the BS about Bflo being a tough, blue collar city, some of you carry on like teenage girls. You're embarrassing your city, your fellow fans, and yourself. Just. Stop.
  9. I'd like to see them bring in a few guys for a look-see, eg, Josh Freeman, Vince Young, and Pat White. In other words, anybody but Tebow.
  10. So you don't think it's possible it got worse in the offseason when training? Is that an impossibility? I wish he was playing, don't get me wrong - that is unless his injury would keep him from playing at an acceptable level - but here's the catch: I'm not a doctor and I have not seen him workout. But those that are, and those that have, keep ruling him out. That's enough for me...
  11. It seems that many posters are ignoring the fact that he may very well have enough discomfort in his feet that he's not able to play at anywhere close to an NFL level. In't that a possibility? Calling him a disgrace and a wuss seems a little overboard when you really don't know what's going on with him and how he feels. If he's out there, great, and if not, then he's not. But let's not get stoopid about it.
  12. Not a fan of the genre but I will say this: It takes a fair amount of courage to create and share something - especially on the internet where there isn't much empathy. Thanks for letting us check it out. Go Bills!
  13. As a Christian, certainly you know you are not required to adhere to the Jewish Law in Leviticus, don't you? I mean, you must know that Jesus' teachings, and His very existence, entered us into a New Covenant with God, right? But don't take my word for it, read Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, Ephesians, and then this: http://www.christianbiblereference.org/faq_OldTestamentLaw.htm As for EJ's tats, I think he covers them up to reflect a more professional image. He certainly has no gang affiliations, of that I am sure. If I had to guess, covering them was advice he got from his mom and/or dad...
  14. What's lost on me is how the talking heads seem to have forgotten about Sam Wyche and the Bengals doing it in the mid 80s - before the Bills' K-Gun....
  15. A couple of weeks ago I looked in that: Sunday 1pm & 4pm games are available immediately after the Sunday night game. Monday games are available on Tuesday, and I forgot when they said the Thursday night games are available, but I think it's on Friday... Edit: It's at the bottom of the webpage linked to above
  16. The Don Beebe Theory - that's pretty good. We used to call it "falling in love with your players." The thing with Beebe was that he added real value. He stretched defenses vertically with his speed. And I think one of the reasons he was so popular back then has less to do with chasing down Leon Lett than it does that one play where he got up-ended and landed on his helmet and still held on to the ball. I want to say it was a big play - like a long 3rd down in a tight game... But I'm not arguing with you; we fall in love with players based on a couple of good-to-great plays they've made when their overall productivity simply doesn't merit such praise. And yep, I'd put Moats, Carrington, and Roosevelt in that category, too.
  17. Not execs, but when they go before the cameras, they are the faces of the franchise. I think it ties in well with Marrone's desire to have Buffalo viewed as a professional, first class organization in everything they do. It's a new era, and I'm all for it.
  18. Didn't they do all those things this offseason? Those players didn't work out as well as hoped, but that happens a lot in free agency. If you don't believe me, ask somebody from DC.. Besides, it's not like you're the one signing checks at One Bills Drive, so who cares how much money they got paid... I agree with this paragraph. It was frustrating to watch, but I'm encouraged that they finally seem headed in the right direction and hopefully they'll turn it around. And writing that the players on 2013's team are somehow impacted by the 2000-2012 versions isn't fiction? Marked improvement this year, playoff contention next year... But I might be different than most Bills fans - I don't need or crave the validation of my team winning. I watch because it's fun, it entertains me; I love being a Bills fan. I obviously want them to do well, but since it's out of my control, I enjoy it for what it is: a good time with friends. Defending the article is essentially defending that notion that a 24 year old man who was driven enough to set and achieve a goal millions of others can only dream of, will suddenly cave because of his team's history. About the only thing this incarnation of the Bills has in common with any of the teams over the last 13 years is the name and stadium. GO BILLS!
  19. I'm not seeing where he said anything that anybody who follows the Bills didn't already know.
  20. I posted the following on facebook back in April: Years ago I subbed at Bayside High School here in VB. Mr Bearclaw, the security guy, introduced me to an up and coming phenom freshman QB named EJ. As it turned, EJ was in several of the classes I covered over the course of those two weeks, and he and I joked about him one day playing for the Bills. I doubt he would remember it, but part of me hopes he does because I explained what the Bills mean to Buffalo and how hungry Bills' fans are for a Lombardi. I hope he "gets it," I want him to know what it means to be a Bills fan and I want him to understand that this matters to us. He was mature beyond his years and he was a leader - not because of his status as stud frosh QB, but his overall mannerism. Whether the traits I saw in a 15 year old boy still exist, I don't know. But Lord knows, I hope they do. Welcome to Buffalo EJ. Pack some wool socks and get after it. Go Bills!
  21. Not trying to start an argument or anything, and you're right - facts don't lie. But they are wholly and totally irrelevant when talking about how the Pats* have had the Bills' number for X number of years. There is no Bills-Pats* history with this staff, with these offensive and defensive schemes, and with what, by all accounts, is this year's attitude.
  22. Oddly enough, I don't disagree with the author. I wouldn't be stunned if they lose, but I do sorta expect the Bills to come out and light them up. (Of course, I'm a fan, so I think that before the opener every season!) Go Bills!
