  1. Agreed. I asked him to identify coaches hired by Brandon because I'm not aware of any.
  2. Why do you say Brandon was a "yes man?" I mean, ya' know, other than the fact you don't like him. Do you have any evidence he has never taken a principled stand? And hiring "some of the worst coaches?" What does that even mean? Google Harvey Johnson, John Rauch, Jim Ringo, Kay Stephenson, Hank Bullough, etc. Or do you not mean "some of the worst coaches in Bills history?" Do You mean "some of the worst coaches available?" Which coaches did he hire? And who, realistically - don't start yelling Shanahan, Gruden, or Cowher because none of them would've come to Buffalo - was available at the time? Who else did they interview that you wanted them to hire so badly? That's the beauty of hindsight, I guess: Just sit on the sidelines scream bloody murder when people who are trying don't succeed. Well, good on ya' I suppose, but it's not how I roll.
  3. After reading some of his posts a second time, he's gotta be trolling. I mean, people in WNY don't really believe what he's saying... do they?
  4. Me too. He may or may not work out, only time will tell. But he has shown flashes, he seems mature and intelligent - he's an easy kid to root for.
  5. Ralph no longer has to approve things, Russ didn't need to get his approval to make Whaley the GM or Marrone the Head Coach. He didn't have to call him asking for permission to sign Hackett or Pettine. For better or worse, the buck no longer stops with Ralph. It stops with Russ. As most every person who moved out of their mom and dad's house can attest, seeking permission and making your own choices aren't the same thing.
  6. 2009: Maybin (oops), Wood, Levitre, Byrd. I liked that draft, too.
  7. So we're talking about 2008. The Bills selected Reggie Corner, Demetruss Bell, James Hardy, Leodis, and Stevie. I recall liking that draft at the time.
  8. Who cares? Why is it that we need to run around an point fingers about who's to blame all the time? Who's to blame for the government shutdown? Who's to blame for Miley Cyrus twerking on TV? Who's to blame for this and for that? Who cares? What difference will assigning blame make other than make those doing it feel superior and self righteous? I'm a lot more concerned with that he's done since he's been calling the shots. And for the most part, I like what he's done since January 3rd.
  9. Call us both crazy - I'm right there with you.
  10. I think Buffalo rises to the occassion and beats the fish by a good 10-14 points. And I prefer sushi. Go Bills!
  11. I'm not sayng I'll buy one, but I don't think they're that bad on the ice.
  12. True, becasue Stevie is just as much a dynamic playmaker as Johnson. /sarcasm
  13. I know what you mean. About 10 years ago I watched my infant niece's first 12 attempts at walking and just knew she would never succeed.
  14. I agree. He's not really that easy to like.
  15. Think of you and Mrs Westside. Stay strong.
  16. I agree. It's just too sophmoric for my taste.
  17. Stevie is the Fitz of wide receivers: Inconsistent, wilts when needed most, and the embodiment of mediocrity. Dump him and move on.
  18. I'll be watching the game with our Backers club because it's fun to join together with other native WNY'ers and root for our hometown team. It's a little more fun when they win, sure, but it's as much about the people I get to hang out with as it is the football.
  19. We sit here on message boards and scoff at players who are not playing well because they're not at 100%. We wonder what's wrong with them - as if because they are not from WNY they don't love the Bills like we do. When a guy goes down, we yell "get up" at the TV. Sometimes it's easy to forget we're dealing with real people, and that article served as a stark reminder. Thanks for finding and sharing it No Saint.
  20. No, I don't. If I did, I would have said as much. Jerry Sullivan's column is being ardently defended by the user known as JPS. You know, I've never seen them both in the same room at the same time...
  21. If we're putting any stock in what Tanner has to say, read the write up on Geno's "The Bad" and feel 1,000 times better about the Bills' QB.
  22. I thought it was an interesting artice, and t didn't strike me as being anti-Buffalo in the least.
  23. For some people, that may be true. The thing that gets me is that, aside from a couple of columns written a few weeks into the season, it's the same template, it's the same exact thing he's saying - ad nauseum. As mentioned upthread, Buffalo was blessed with two outstanding sports columnists in Felser and Kelley, and while they had days that were better than others, their columns were a must-read. Even in years when the Sabres and Bills struggled, you wanted to see what they had to say. Sully, unfortunately, is just really, really predictable.
  24. No argument there.
