  1. I'm glad he's starting, I think he brings more of what we need to the O, but I thinnk its wrong that he announced it Tuesday afternoon on GR. For starters, who's to say MM has had the opportunity to sit down with TH and inform him that he'd be relegated to 2nd string? Secondly, it wouldn't be good for the team, facing a very challenging time right now but still doing a praiseworthy job of sticking together, to think that they may be embarassed publicly in the media by a teammate - intentionally or otherwise, and you just don't do that. The rosters, starting lineup, and injury updates are announced by the coach during his Wed p.c. MM has the opportunity to explain/justify his moves. Me thinks Willis jumped the gun, and while he probably didn't make many enemies, my understanding is that the players have alot of respect for Travis. I can imagine the vets thinking "shuddup rook." If I'm MM I'm having a chat with our boy Willis about discretion. We know you're excited Willis, we are too, but let the coach handle such things in the future. It's his job, not yours...
  2. OLBs generally are better coverage guys. London, or any other MLB in a 4-3 that is required to cover anybody is generally due to a quirck generated by mismatches from a called blitz, or more frequently, a zone. And I don't care what team you look at, they're schemed to give the MLB help, usually by making his zone shorter, allowing the DB's (usually a S) to help him over the top. If the DBs aren't avialable for over the top help, the offense won the chess match that play with a good call, and good read by the QB. But I can't think of any MLB who can run with any but the slowest of TEs or RB's... I'll agree his penalties in the first couple of games were bone-headed, but the flags he's drawn over the past 2 or 3 games are more due to his new QB-roughing reputation, which is BS IMO...
  3. Great report Lori (for a Habs fan! ) I agree with Howard, although I'm usually dubbed a GW-clone, but it really does come down to the players executing the play, something we haven't done very well in the red zone I'm afraid. I'm glad to hear someone else sees it that way too. And I'll go on record that I see nothing wrong with Tasker's commentary when he does Bills games. Anybody who's ever talked to him, or even listened to him, knows he a Bills fan. His attempt to remain objective is obvious, same as Paul's done on Sunday night games, but they're both "Bflo Guys" at heart. Thanks for taking the time to let us know what went on.
  4. So it's a Dolphins' Training Camp simulator?
  5. I appreciate your your point Mike, but I think Willis has a tendency to pop an 8 or 13 yard run with more frequency than TH - and I'm no TH basher, it's what I've seen. He also has that "thing" that some backs do to take a negative play and pick up 3 yards, something that TH, unless he can run over the guy, just doesn't have. Travis just isn't as elusive. WM's also a better technicial pass blocker, and his blocking reads are superior. He's also much more slippery in the open field on dump offs to the flat. It's no coincidence that the O is more productive (look at the 2nd half of the last two games) when WM's on the field. The difference between 2nd and 2 and 2nd and 12 is huge. I'm still a fan of TH's, but right now, WM is better suited to help our offense.
  6. I'd add Fletch, Vincent & Campbell to that list too...
  7. Didn't he trade him because DB was making too much money to sit on the bench?
  8. Don't think we're ignoring you: http://205.134.161.85/forums/index.php?showtopic=7648
  9. Of course he will - he's Flutie-incarnate
  10. Perhaps. Perhaps not. But in any event, hardly a mutiny...
  11. As evident by all the finger-ponting and bickering in the media I suppose.
  12. I think it might be due to the coaches believing that Drew gives us a better chance at winning than Shayne, ticket sales be damned.
  13. Go ahead and flame, but others who love the X's and O's (like Simon) would probably agree that any list of the top 5 Bills thus far that doesn't include London Fletcher is worthless.
  14. That would pretty much contradict everything that from Ralph down to the coaches have said since TD get the job, that all of the player decisions are made by consensus.
  15. Looks like a good time Rich. I trust you gave the Ravens fans the "You're in Bills Country now!" jeer!
  16. Not only did he knock it down, he prevented the Ravens from getting a big fat juicy rebound by steering it away from the crease. Great save, and he cleared it out of the zone!
  17. They checked my binocs at The Ralph to make sure they were legit. I'd say don't bother, but if you want to give it a shot, check Spencers Gifts. The local one has/had them.
  18. Their D has slipped alot this year, I'm not talking stats, I'm talking that Jason Taylor is too light to take on the double and triple teams. Last year they got a lot of production out of Ogunleye (sp?) and that helped free-up Taylor, but he's gone, and opponents can now focus on Taylor. It's been working. Junior is a shadow of his former self, but he still dances well, so they keep him around. Zach is undersized, and with only one effective DL, the OLs are getting hats on him and taking him out of games. Their secondary, at one time dominant, is old and prone to being lit up. Their WRs aren't terrible, but it's hard for them to make plays while in the training room, which is exactly where they've been for 2 years. Their OL blows. Their QB situation is a joke. One of the few bright spots has been the play of Sammy Morris. They won't make the playoffs next year, end of story.
  19. I've been to two Bills games at M&T (although it was named PSINet for the first one). I had the good fortune of tailgating at a warehouse that held a Bills Tailgate, and at Sliders, which is a bar that RRich & Glenn worked out an arrangement to hold a Bills "Tailgate" before the preseason game last year, so I'm not terribly familiar with their tailgating. But I agree as far as your assessment of the stadium and its fans. Cookie-cutter with zero character. Very similar to Charlotte's in that regard. I guess our perception of what gameday should be "all about" is skewed.
  20. I admire their enthusiasm, albeit somewhat misguided...
  21. As fans, we're getting screwed to an extent. But as the article rightfully claims, it's people like your uncle who are truly being shafted, and therein lies the tragedy Yeah, I know, the owners locked them out, the NHLPA didn't call for a strike, but I lay this at the feet of the players. One of the things I always loved about hockey players was that they were a down to earth bunch of guys. To a man, I still believe that, but collectively, they need to wake up and face the realities of their sport: Very few of us care, and those that do are the losers in this whole mess.
  22. I think I read in The Hockey News a couple months back that the NHLPA requires them to get insurance when they play for a non-NHL team. So a knee injury could end or shorten a career, but he'd be fine financially.
