  1. Uhmmm, OK. Sorry to hear of your difficulties, I hope things improve for you soon.
  2. It sure as hell wasn't the National Fascist Pinko Party!
  3. I guess the same place Neil Diamnond did on his Christmas album. What's up with these conservatives knocking people who see a demand and fill it? Isn't that part of the whole capitalism thingy?
  4. Hi Bill, I trust you're having fun! Travis has been a real pro. He hasn't said one negative thing, and when he went in for a few carries to spell WM, he ran hard (just not very far )
  5. I got a visual - That's the funniest post I've read in quite awhile
  6. Nope. I'm a registered independent, I tend to lean more to the left than most here seem to, but as Darin has observed, I'm more of a "pissed-off centrist." Truth be told, I can punch holes all day long in either party, and occasionally, I'll take my shots at Dems. On PPP though, there seem to be many who believe that everything GOP is somehow divinely inspired, I do take more shots at them, and as I diplomatically respond to those who ask, "I'm not a real big fan of the current administration." But I certainly have no major grudge with the GOP, in fact, you'll probably see me take many more shots at the more vociferous uber-conservatives on this board than the party as an entity. FWIW, here's a few beliefs/opinions: I believe people should be provided opportunities to help them succeed and/or get on their feet, but I also believe their success is ultimately their responsibility, I've never asked for, and don't care for, handouts. I don't like abortion as birth control, so I wouldn't condone it, but it's not my place to interfere in the rights of others (it is legal-for now- afterall). It's not my place to tell terminally ill patients they can't end their suffering, I haven't the right, so I believe in assisted suicide for them if they so choose. I dislike guns and flag burning, but I'll ALWAYS support the rights provided to either one by the Constitution, although I don't dislike gun owners, I do dislike flag burners. I think two people of the same sex who fall in love and make a commitment to each other should have the same legal rights and protections afforded to heterosexual married couples. It's none of my damn business. I think the PATRIOT Act needs to be modified to ensure that rights provided to us by the Constitution are not enfringed upon. I think it's silly for Christians to get their panties in a wad over "under God" in the pledge. If they're relying on that to introduce the love of God into their children's lives, they really have bigger issues to worry about. I don't think all Muslims want to blow me up. If the above makes me a lefty, so be it. B)
  7. Good point(s). There's no doubt we'll take Fallujah, but obviously we're all hoping our guys get out with as few casualties as possible. Part of me wonders if they were able to escape before we sealed the city, and that's the reason for the less than expected resistance? I sure hope not. It's either that or they're preparing to meet us in force, and we just haven't come across them yet.
  8. I'm not sure what that has to do with Barbara Streisand's career... Or have you been under the impression that I'm a Democrat?
  9. I saw a - *gasp* - soundbite - earlier today from CNN about Fallujah. They were saying somebody (I missed the part where they identified the source) alluded to the amount of resistance they've met up with was lower than expected, and that enemy casualties were higher than expected. Not sure how to reconcile the two, but it sounds like things are going much more smoothly than they had planned, thank God.
  10. I still see alot of W'04 and Bush-Cheney bumper sticlers around here- Probably because I live in a red state. You probably see alot of Kerry-Edwards stickers because you live in a blue state, but both share the same human trait of laziness, IMO.
  11. Only when their wealth comes from the fruit of their own labor and not from exploiting those who are disadvantaged. In Bab's case, even though I think she sucks, she's had a successful career as an actor and singer. Nothing wrong with that, but I do find it interesting to see how many "conservatives" are all pissy about her ticket prices, or the number of houses she owns. She wasn't born with a silver spoon, and I think that she would be an example of what hard work and determination can achieve. But that's just me...
  12. I guess the new breed of conservative doesn't like to see people succeed, much less see the trappings of success.
  13. But, But, What if that gets in the way of a partisan rant? Good post Tom... but you're smart enough to know that already
  14. That's rich. RMPL.
  15. Babs may have said it, but she'd be quoting a letter written by Thomas Jefferson after the Sedition Act was passed into law in 1798. Why don't some of you crack a book every now and then? For chrissakes people...
  16. I think we caught a glimpse of the man behind the curtain!
  17. They make as many invalid points as they do valid. Their "sneer" seems more like vitriol than anything else, and will surely serve to alienate the vast majority of Americans, regardless of political slant.
  18. Good point. I do think that if the Bills move the ball effectively on the ground, NE won't have as much time to dink and dunk us. I'm not as concerned with defending them, we did well in Bflo for 3 Qtrs, and we've improved with the addition of a PO'd Milloy. I'm more looking forward to watching McGahee run roughshod on them, and enjoying the Bills eating up clock and yardage.
  19. Other than the ramblings of some "experts" like Jerry Sulivan (lol) and some here, there has not been one shred of tangible evidence pointing to this mythical ego. In fact, I would argue that the evidence points to him being a consumate team player, as most managers and leaders are.
  20. You may or may not agree with his decisions, but IMO using the tired "ego" mantra simply isn't based on reality, it's based on an inaccurate bias.
  21. No, I'm a "fascist pinko." We're altogether different. I think.
  22. Gimmicks and gadgets won't beat the Patriots, much less a QB who isn't at 100%. Running the ball and playing nasty football beats the Patriots.
  23. Did I say you did? I see one of those neverending circles coming- "Did I say you said I said you said I did?"
