  1. Just a thought - buy tix before you actually drive up there Next time up, check out District ChopHouse. It's close to the MCI Center and has the best pepper steak I've ever had.
  2. I read that yesterday (Wed) there were about 4500 left. But if I'm not mistaken, the TV blackout deadline is today, Thursday.
  3. True. I grew up on 19 in LeRoy, and they'd go 390-63-19 too.
  4. You mean socialized, not communist, correct?
  5. That's what matters most.

  7. Beautiful part of the country Mark. You owe it to yourself to check it out.
  8. Guess they feel that just living in PA is taxing enough
  9. Cost of living in south eastern VA is very comparable to WNY (oftentimes less in the more rural areas - VA counties Isle of Wight and Surry vs Genesee & Wyoming in NY). VA sales tax is 4.5%. WNY will always be 'home,' but it's no secret that NY'ers get hammered with taxes.
  10. Suffolk, VA - suburb of Norfolk/Virginia Beach.
  11. I'd believe it. He told me when they played the Bears once, there was a T (I've since forgotten his name) that was getting the best of Deacon through the first quarter and a half. He unloaded a head slap, and the guy finished the quarter with his eyes crossed. Deac said it was all he could do to keep from laughing when they lined up. He said the guy was replaced in the second half, and Deacon guessed he had about 4 sacks in the second half. But just one of the thing that really impressed was that as funny as seeing the guy try to play half a quarter cross-eyed was, he never played another down again. Deacon was so remorseful - especially after laughing at him - that he sent the guy some money to help him start his life after football. I use one of Deacon's lines to this day: "I was trying to 'kill' the guy, but I really didn't want to hurt him."
  12. Mammoth. When we shook hands, mine disappeared. I know I'm setting myself up for the inevitable "not that there's anything wrong with that" comments, but the guy is just big everywhere. I'm 6'2", and he's at least 4 inches taller than I am, his legs are much longer than they seem on classic highlights, and his wingspan has gotta' be above average for a man his height. But I was much more impressed with his attitude than his physical appearance. He's a genuinely good man, and there's no doubt he loves life.
  13. I had the opportunity to sit with Deacon at one of the Bruce Smith Celebrity Golf Tournaments (our Backers club were event volunteers for many years). He was blown away that someone of my relative "youth" had even heard of him, much less recognized him. I explained that he was my dad's favorite player, and related some stories about him that dad had shared. Needless to say, I had a friend for the evening! Deacon's a class act. Too bad they didn't track sacks (a name for tackling the QB he actually coined) back in his time - one of the all time greats.

  15. Fox is a day late (go figure) - that article actually hit the AP wire yesterday. Here's today's AP article by John Wawrow: http://cbs4boston.com/localsports/FBN--Bil...urces_news_html
  16. Where did you hear that? If it's the practice jersey theory, it's not accurate. He's been wearing 48 since he was issued his practice jersey (same with McGahee and his 2).
  17. When they started workouts this summer, #21 was taken, so McGahee was issued #2. After 21 became available for gameday, he jumped on it, but they won't waste the money to issue/buy new practice jerseys.
  18. Awfully difficult on a laptop touchpad... I'll have to give it a shot from the desktop (with mouse). But what's up with that button on the bottom left? "Start a League?"
  19. She's a good-enough looking girl, but nowhere near "hot," much less "hottest girl ever to walk upon this earth."
  20. Cardboard boxes don't melt.
  21. True, but life in Indy just might be slow enough for him to keep up.
  22. So if a player isn't a ProBowler, he shouldn't be considered a #1? Perhaps the team you should be rooting for plays one game per year - in Hawaii.
  23. Thanks for the update.
