  1. True, but it’s just strange he keeps 4 of the same o lineman, but then brings in a below average run blocker. (McGovern) Their pass blocking should be better this year, but you can make the argument on paper their run blocking will be worse.
  2. This is where I’m at. Still a lot to play out but so far we have added an “average to slightly above average guard” by the sounds of it, and a speed receiver who hasn’t accomplished much. Still a lot to go, but need to add another weapon, draft a guard early and a tackle who can compete with Spencer brown
  3. I admittedly am not a huge Edmunds fan, but he’s definitely better than VE. In saying that, Contracts in the NFL don’t necessarily reflect the total body of work. It reflects “what have you done for me lately “ and “is this player trending up or down” Edmunds has 3 massive things over VE. 1. Last year was by far his best year so some Teams see this as “trending up” 2. He’s relatively way more healthy than VE as VE is always hurt. 3. He is younger But also a side note: NFL GMs give out bad contracts all the time. (See Kenny Golloday amongst a laundry list of others)
  4. He’s not a starter, no doubt. But as a depth/fill in guy, he’s fine IMO
  5. I think you can do that. Colorado^ had a good explanation above, but I do believe the bills can sign him to a 2-3 year deal to lower the cap hit
  6. Ahh interesting I didn’t know all of that. Thanks for the explanation buddy.
  7. I like bringing Dane back but at 2.7 Mil? That seems a bit high? For some reason I thought it would be under 2
  8. Can still extend Jones, Taron, Hyde, Restructure Tre and/orDiggs if needed, cut Mckenzie which saves just under 3 mil Still lots of levers to pull if needed, but yes I do think they will wait until the dust settles a bit to your point.
  9. That’s fair but once again… bills are going to the playoffs because of Josh Allen. Not their special teams lol. We had the best punter for 15 years and it meant nothing
  10. I guess it goes back to the same argument with Leslie Frazier. Great regular season coach, but what does it matter if he can’t get it done in the playoffs? Same line of thinking with special teams. Bills aren’t going to the Super Bowl because they pinned Patrick Mahomes to the 17 yard line opposed to the 25, nor does it matter if Josh starts from the 17 opposed to the 25
  11. In the regular season when it’s a grind and you make more mistakes, sure. But in the playoffs when teams are more focused, how often does a punt block really happen? If it does the odd time, I would chalk it up as more luck as it’s very rare. Hidden yardage in the regular season against bad QBs ? Sure that would help. But When you play the elite QBs, 5-8 yards makes very little difference IMO and I respectfully think that’s a very old school/outdated way of thinking . The rules favour the offence and 5-8 yards for elite QBs is absolutely nothing.
  12. Do you think it really matters if you make Mahomes/Burrow start at the 12-17 yard line instead of the 20-25 though? I don’t whats so ever. The way I see it: Have a good kicker, and just don’t be “incompetent “ at kick/punt coverage. Even though I disagree with your points, I appreciate the research/time you put into this.
  13. Cam Lewis. Had to make a lot of space for him
  14. I was looking at the cap hit per special teams player, which they are 3rd. For total cap hit, looks about 6th if I’m reading it right. Which is still high on a team that’s tight against the cap IMO
  15. I think the important stat is “cap hit per special teams players”. So the bills are 3rd? Which is what I think a lot of us were saying, that they pay their special teamers well. The Joe Marino research also had a ton of flaws in it. It goes back to the old “causation vs correlation “. New England won a ton of Super Bowls and always had good special teams which spiked up the “averages”. Did NE win Super Bowls cause of Tom Brady, or did they win because of good special teams? Let’s be honest here lol. Tom Brady won a SB in tampa with the 25th ranked special teams
  16. I think that part is very debatable. If you want to say last year, sure. But in his 5 year career , I would definitely not say Edmunds was a very good player.
  17. Now THIS was the news I was waiting to hear!!!🎉
  18. Us “morons” call a spade a spade. His first 4 years he was an extremely inconsistent player. (Which is why he probably wasn’t signed to a long term extension before year 5) Last year he was good, no doubt. But for 18 mil a year for a guy who is very up and down and doesn’t do much in big games? No thanks
  19. Chiefs have two guys under rookie contracts though that are absolute studs. And Thuney, Taylor they are paying top dollar for .( I think Orlando Brown is a free agent but could be wrong)
  20. Was never a big Edmunds fan. He definitely had a good year last season, but for 18 mil a season? Goodbye..
  21. Miami and KC are two teams I know a lot about and they don’t invest a ton in special teams. They use rookies/cheap vets to fill those slots and aren’t “designated special team players”
  22. I don't know for every team, but I know for a few that I follow and they don't commit those resources to special teams the Bills do. And we are also tight to the cap, so there is also that..
  23. Every team seems to have 1-2 niche special teams guys they pay for, seems like the bills have 3-4 every year
