Stadiums Of The Future
BillsFan130 replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You want the Bills you get a new stadium? I love the Ralph personally. Will be sad when the Bills change stadiums -
There are more problems than just losing Dareus but losing him for sure hurt. I listed the stats plenty of times so won't list again lol but it's pretty crazy the difference when he's in the lineup vs without and the same for Jacksonville. But yes there are other big problems as well outside of losing Dareus
-
Ya Lawson has set the edge well for the most part, but I still think he needs to generate more pass rush. Hughes has been average this year as he is very streaky. And yes the interior line is getting no push at all. I love Kyle Williams but it looks like age may be finally starting to catch up to him
-
Lol yep. Next week is when Brady will start pulling away in the MVP race lol
-
Lol ya pretty similar actually. The only difference is the offence and turnovers were winning for the Bills that year, this year was strictly defence Great read thanks for posting. This is what worries me about McD as a defensive coach. Pretty easy to be a good defensive coordinator when you got an all pro in Kuechly running all around the field, and checking in and out of plays putting his defence in the right spot almost every single play. I'm sure the Bills will upgrade on Brown going forward, but going to almost be impossible to get another Luke Kuechly type of player
-
Lol yep. I am not even looking forward to watching the games against the Pats. Going to be so miserable
-
Well him last year is hard to compare cause I'm pretty sure the Bills only had 10 players on the field half the time... haha. That was a clown show all around under Rex. I think you are right about the other factors for sure, but the numbers are staggering when he was in the lineup vs. without him. And the same thing goes for the Jaguars. Dareus missed 2 games earlier in the year and both games Denver and ATL went over 100 on the ground. The games where he was in the lineup? Under 100 every single time. The once exception where the Bills did well without him was the OAK game. Probably due to the fact the Raiders are a terrible rushing team and Lynch wasn't playing. Like I said, there are other factors besides Dareus for sure. But I still think losing him has hurt them big time in the run game
-
I think its a combination of a lot of things. The Bills were giving up lots of yards with the exception of the Jets and Panthers game, but the difference is the Bills were getting tons of turnovers that lead them to 5-2. They aren't getting those turnovers anymore. Losing Dareus for sure hurt the run defence. Scheme I believe has been figured out. Teams just aren't beating themselves and are attacking the linebackers in the passing game. Linebackers have taken a huge step back the last few weeks. And pass rush. The Bills were getting after the QB with 4 or 5 guys consistently but now they can't even come close. Add all those thing together and you get a recipe for disaster

Not all first round picks pan out of course to your point, but obviously if a guy is drafted in the first round especially first overall, they have a much higher skill set. Think about it this way. Was anyone doubting Andrew Luck after his first game? Hmmm probably not. Nate Peterman on the other hand? Of course because he is a 5th rounder and has a very limited skill set. This is not to say he can't be successful, but the odds are heavily stacked against him compared to a QB who is drafted first off the board Exactly this^

I don't know enough about college football. Whoever the best QB is, draft him lol

[Please Change Title]Anthony Lynn
BillsFan130 replied to harv shitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reason I wanted Lynn was because Gus Bradley and Whisenhunt were packaged with him. Especially Gus Bradley People say Lynn blew games. But is it his fault his kicker missed a 40 yard field goal to beat Miami? And is it his fault his running back fumbles when they are killing clock against Jacksonville? -
Fair enough man. I personally am very dissapointed in the lack of talent, especially young talent. The bills are going to hit absolute home runs on their next 2 drafts just to be descent. That's very tough to do. If you're happy by all means, but I can't say I am at all right now. I thought if anything the Bills should have a respectable defence. You know, since we apparently hired a defensive coach..
-
Exactly. For me I could care less they are 5 and 5. I would rather them be 3 and 7 and actually look like they are coming together and playing better as the year goes on. But they are in the opposite trend and to your point, have been historically bad the last 3 weeks.
-
If you're happy just because their record says 5 and 5 then by all means. But everyone knows that 2 or 3 of those wins were extremely lucky where they got virtually every break. That's just not sustainable to force 3 plus turnovers a game The reality of situation is they are 5 and 5 with the 27th ranked offence and the 30th ranked defence. They are on a sharp decline and look worse by the week. If you're happy that they won 2 or 3 of those 5 games by great bounces and a massive turnover differential then fair enough. But I can't see how that will benefit them in the future because it's an unsustainable method of winning. As we are now witnessing

I'll say 1

It shouldn't take 3 to 5 years to turn around a franchise. Want a few examples? Seahawks in 2012, chiefs in 2013, Rams this year. I didn't expect the bills to make the playoffs this year but I also didn't expect them to regress massively on both sides of the ball including having one of the worst defences in the league with a "defensive head coach"
-
Lol how's that working out for them so far?
-
21st is for defence? I believe they are 27th in yards and 30th in points. If you are referring to 21st I'm guessing that's total defence when they were getting tons of turnovers the first 6 weeks. Obviously not sustainable The defence is getting worse as the year goes on as well. Which tells me teams are figuring out his scheme and the Bills haven't adjusted. Very low talent like you've said, but this is the defence him and Beane are making and it's simply terrible right now
-
Let's be honest, whoever has watched the Bills this year knows that probably 3 of those wins were very lucky as so many things went their way. I don't agree with all the trades but they did it. For them to be successful in 2 years they are going to have to hit home runs on the next 2 drafts. Very hard to do. And I didn't expect the Bills to be good but I thought I would at least see improvements. They are getting worse as the season goes on. If they started slow and reversed the trend, I would have a lot more faith in him. But it's the opposite and it really makes me wonder what exactly this guy has accomplished/built That's how Canadians spell it lol. Its not wrong for us
-
Both of them. From my understanding McD has a big say on personnel moves. And he is a defensive coach, (well supposed to be anyways) so I can almost guarantee he had a big influence on some of the players he traded away/brought in
