  1. Agreed that Russ sucks, but don't know if putting in Dart against a Spags defence is the answer for his first nfl game. Realistically , Jameis probably gives them the best chance to win
  2. I got to say. That was an unreal play by Mahomes. Obviously horrible play to do that to begin with, but that awareness and instincts were insane
  3. Andrew Thomas is the new Jason Peters for Collingsworth
  4. So you're saying- You would rather have last years playoff offence compared to 2021 playoff offence? Please tell me you actually don't mean that. Yes by far the biggest problem in the playoffs is the defence . No denying that. But 2021 playoffs- New England perfect wild card game/13 seconds game, is absolutely peak bills offence in the McDermott era and there really shouldn't even be a debate about that
  5. How many blocked kicks have there been today? This is insane
  6. So you're going to look at 27 points and just conclude the offence was good? Defence didn't force 3 turnovers to help them on the plus side of the field to set up those points right? lol.. The peak bills ceiling to me for offence was 2021. And it was more pass happy. They had the chiefs beat in arrowhead with 36 points until the defensive and coaching meltdown. For some reason the bills wanted to change to more ball control , limit mistakes and to run the ball more with heavy sets. Where in reality if the defence was even competent, they would have at least 1 Super Bowl from the Daboll years Now- I am not saying that they should go full 2021 and just pass it 40 times a game as I do think it's good to have a bit more balance. But I feel like the bills made too dramatic of a shift. It’s like a pitcher who throws 100mph who can't be hit- But instead of adding a change up to complement the fastball, they tell him to to throw 90mph and just focus on location. Doesn't make sense to me
  7. It was actually the full game outside of the 1st drive. And ya I'm going to mostly judge them what they do in the playoffs, not the regular season. The "floor" will always be higher with the power game approach. It's the "ceiling" I'm worried about , and we saw the limitations first hand in the playoffs last year I was referring to the playoff game last year against them
  8. Agreed that the problem against the chiefs wasn't the offence. But against Baltimore it was, as it took 3 turnovers and huge dropped passes by Baltimore to win by 2 points . The bills offence could not move the ball, especially in the 2nd half
  9. The ravens beat themselves. I think even if you ask McDermott he would admit that. Bills offence was awful that night
  10. Yep and I personally disagree with the overall philosophy. Trying to be a power run team while minimizing risk wouldn't be the path I would take when a unicorn like Josh Allen is your QB Is your "floor" going to be a lot better? Absolutely as you're not going to have multi turnover games that cost you. But the ceiling is also going to be limited. We saw it in last years playoffs, especially against Baltimore
  11. Maybe. But since late 2023, this is basically what the passing game has looked like.
  12. I don't want the bills to "chuck " the ball downfield as I understand teams play a lot of cover 2 and 4 against the bills. But ya I do want more intermediate passing. Just because a team plays cover 2, doesn't mean you aren't allowed to throw the ball past the line of scrimmage lol. Theres the honey hole between the safety and corner (see the Dalton Kincaid TD), middle of the field is also open because of the 2 split safety.
  13. Today I just learned that Zay jones is still in the NFL
  14. I hear your point. But sometimes you just got to put the game in Josh Allen's hands. (See the ravens game) Even on the Hawes TD. Nothing was really open. Just a special player making an amazing play. Josh Allen is a unicorn who can make things happen even if WRs aren't open right off the bat
  15. My apologies, you're right as yes it was a swing pass. Running 2nd and long into a crowded box will never be a reasonable call in my books though when Josh Allen is your QB and you're playing the worst secondary in the NFL
  16. At this point I would almost rather Frank gore than Ray Davis. Hes done absolutely nothing the first 3 games
  17. They did give him the ball and they got stuffed twice in a row because the whole world knew they were running it, especially on 1st down. Not going to nitpick too much as it's impossible to be perfect as a play caller. But I just think a play action in that situation should have been a no brainer, and it goes back to to the root of Joe Brady does not use play action nearly enough
  18. I know you really like Joe Brady and that's fine, but I think you would even admit this- He criminally underuses play action at times One of the lower play action teams in the league since he took over in 2023, and Josh Allen has some of the highest metrics when using play action. On that particular time with those two corners being out, and Miami playing a crowded box on top of it? Play action should be an absolute no brainer play call there
  19. But to the posters point- The dolphins just had 2 injuries in a row in their secondary. Why not test them right away? Instead they run into a crowded box twice in a row to set up a 3rd and 8. That to me is nonsensical, given the situation
  20. Yep. It kind of really flipped the game as well. Looked like bills were gonna go up 21-7 and start pulling away. But they get stuffed on that sequence that you're referring to, missed the kick, and then allow the long TD drive. "Complimentary" football at its finest lol I think the play calling at the end was fine. Those runs basically were the icing of the game. Even if prater misses, Miami has to go 65 yards in 25 seconds with 0 timeouts . Extremely unlikely, especially with a noodle arm QB
  21. 6 pressures for Greg Rousseau? Who's keeping track of that stat, his mom? Haha on a serious note it definitely didn't feel like that live as I don't think I noticed him once
  22. I thought the defence played pretty bad when watching live, but the stats are actually pretty damn good.. 1. 21 points to Miami. I'll take that any time 2. 275 yards given up . Holding a team to under 300 in the nfl is hard to do 3. 1 turnover. I think the big stat that made it seem a lot worse than it was, is the 3rd down defence. (10/15 which is unacceptable)
  23. 1. I never said the offence is a problem. I don't think anyone has said that lol 2. I said the PASSING game has been an issue for most of the year outside of a couple quarters. In particular The Baltimore 4th quarter, and the 2nd quarter of the dolphins game. Do you really disagree with that?^
  24. We will see I guess. Last years playoff offence seemed pretty similar to the 2024 regular season , if not even more conservative
  25. I don't expect perfection. But when Miamis defence got carved by Daniel jones and Drake maye and they are on a short week coming to buffalo with their secondary decimated, ya I had extremely high expectations for the offence and I didn't have 3 punts in a row on the bingo card
