The issue for me personally isn't necessarily the quantity- It's "when" they rotate. Ravens game for example- When they scored that final TD, bills had Solomon, Jefferson and Epenasa out there. And this was 2 plays after coming out of a 2 minute warning, so it's not like the starters were gassed or anything . I get your overall point- Like the bills CB2 in Douglas struggled this year. I would definitely invest in the position and spend a day two draft pick there. But having almost 40 mil tied up to two corners, not too mention Taron Johnson having one of the higher nickel salaries, is just too much IMO.

13-15 seems low for Reed IMHO. I would be shocked if it isn't at least 17 mil. I think the combination of him and Benford would be around 40 mil Mcdermott historically pays one corner, and then the 2nd one is a JAG or a draft pick. (EJ Gaines, Levi Wallace, Dane Jackson, Benford on a rookie deal etc)

The problem is the contract situation. Benford has one more year left You can't pay two corners 20 plus mil

That's fair and I see your points. I'm not absolving the offence as they had a chance to score at the end and didn't. But you did mention the bills strength of their team is the offence. I agree. But the chiefs strength? Is their defence. That's a top 3 unit in the league, and at home. If it was an average defence or below average, then I would fully agree with you. In regulation time, these are the points the chiefs have given up their last 5 playoff Games 14, 19, 10, 24, (bills Game last year) and 7 I think asking 30 plus points in arrowhead is a lot. If you're gonna beat KC, you have to hold them to 24 points or under IMO. As the strength of their team is no longer the offence, it's the defence

I guess it depends on your expectations. If someone told you before the game that the bills got almost 400 yards of offence and 29 points - On the road against a Spags defence , would you have taken it? For me the answer is yes in a heart beat If someone told you before the game the chiefs got 32 points- Would you have taken it? For me the answer is easily no. Fair, but just saying they played 6 more man snaps has to have context as well. If let's say 5 of 6 of those extra man snaps were on 3rd and mediums/long, then I would say that's a big change.

No team plays close to 80 percent man though. 46 percent is very heavy in the NFL. Only 3 teams in the nfl played a higher percentage than that in the regular season . So going to one of the most zone heavy teams, to a top 4 man Team in a playoff game, is a very big change. Point being: Andy was ready for it the 2nd time around and called man beaters all day long. (Including the final play that iced it)

Part of The original post was something along the lines of the bills being a good regular season defence, but struggles in the playoffs. My point was I think the bills caught Andy off guard by mixing in more man in the regular season .(in which it worked) And he predicted the bills were gonna go more man heavy in the playoffs and was game planning more for it. (Unlike the regular season) You disagree with that?

I'm not disputing that. I'm just stating a fact that bills ran a lot more man coverage in the 1st regular season game- Andy was ready for it in the playoffs, and made the necessary adjustments

I think we like to pick talent OR coaching to the reason why we can't get over the hump. In reality to me it's both. The bills front 4 doesn't disrupt enough in the playoffs. But at the same time I think part of the reason we do well in the regular season and flame out in the playoffs on defence, is because of adjustments. Bills played a high percentage of man the first time they played the chiefs. Which I think caught Andy off guard a bit as usually they play zone. The Bills continued to play man a lot in the playoffs- Andy was ready for it and dialled up man beaters all game long

In my opinion by far the biggest difference between the bills and chiefs is Chris Jones. (Outside of coaching) You put Chris Jones on the Bills and ed oliver on the chiefs this past game, and the Bills probably win And tying it back to the thread now- This is why the Bills got to do what it takes to get a Maxx crosby or Hendrickson
