  1. All of that is agreeable. But I'm just saying, it's very possible Roman prefers the less physically gifted passer who can make quick decisions and limit mistakes over the big play guy with worse field or whatever else. That first season in SF the Niners methodically moved the ball with creative schemes, power running and dink-dunk passing. Maybe Roman likes that consistency over the ups and downs that came with Kap.
  2. I agree. They are mobile QBs, but you never see them running read option or whatever. It's probably because their arm's are far more useful to the offense than their legs.
  3. Not as mobile as Kap or Taylor. Smith is mobile in the way that Aaron Rodgers is mobile. Certainly something you have to respect, but he's not going to outrun defenders or juke them out. And I was still speaking more to the type of offense Roman ran with him under center. He did not call nearly as many QB keepers/read-option plays. I'm just saying that we have no way of knowing, presently and beyond doubt, whether he would rather have a QB like Kap or Smith, Taylor or Cassel. It could be fully true that Kap was Harbaugh's guy and Roman was forced to use him after his breakout game relieving Smith.
  4. Yeah, it could be that Roman likes a QB like Smith/Cassel for his system over Kap/Taylor. I was just pointing out to those who link Roman to Kap need to remember he ran a very different offense with Smith under center.
  5. His offense was pretty boring before Kap came around. Very creative and effective, but not flashy. They won games with great D and pounding the rock. That game where they beat New Orleans in a shootout was stunning in part because they never looked like that before. Then Kap came around with that big play ability and we saw the somewhat mixed results that came with it the last couple years.
  6. Yeah, the report that Roman wanted Cassel now, not that he called for the trade. Could still be the case, though doubtful, but that wasn't part of the report.
  7. An inside source has apparently said so. It is being discussed in one of the other QB threads. More mobile than Cassel, that's for sure.
  8. Andre Davis is a likely PS candidate.
  9. Bryce would have had the best opportunity to play his way back onto the roster this week. I think it's a close call right now. Not necessarily him or Boobie, either. We have shown now that 5 RBs may not be enough depth, haha.
  10. Andre Davis should definitely be on our PS. I like Deonte to make the 53. Hogan has either played his way off the roster, or hurt himself off of it at this point. I like him, but Deonte has really made a name for himself so far.
  11. Yeah, I was very frustrated with that. It would make sense to give the guys some game time to run some of the playbook, but Rex did also say the D was vanilla. So I don't know what to make of it.
  12. Agreed. Goodwin is an extremely useful role player for us. He has shown toughness this preseason and has looked good these first couple games.
  13. Apparently a lot of people.
  14. I wouldn't worry about this too much. Kujo has shown improvement and I think if Glenn or Henderson went down, he would be fine. Now, if both went down, sure, we're screwed. Certainly every player gets dinged up often. I think Goodwin just reacts to about every little one of them.
  15. Gragg looked good last night. He is the 2nd best receiving TE on the roster and I have to wonder if it's worth looking at other roster cuts for an alternative, as the post suggests. Lots of edge rushers on that list. Did not notice Buchanon at all last night.
  16. Hogan could be headed to IR. No word on his injury yet.
  17. We don't know what Hogan's injury from last night was, but it looked serious. Could be IR'd. If not, I guess we'll see!
  18. "I feel like they don't really want me here" is such an immature remark to make.
  19. Which of Manuel's passes on that TD drive today did you watch?
  20. Eh, if I had the chance to practice with an NFL team and even suit up for preseason, I would take it.
  21. That was last year, apples and oranges lololol.
  22. Is this spinning the original quote a little, Vic?
  23. I would say Fujis and Galas. I am happy with either.
  24. ESPECIALLY after we let him be featured on our new "Cribs" special.
  25. EJ has the work ethic and demeanor I want in a franchise QB. He also has the size and natural ability. He is inching closer to being the guy. I'm seeing it. The adversity he is facing is crazy.
