  1. We're going to drop the BOOM on 'em!
  2. Ugh, I hate this. They can have preseason games. Or they can try NFL Europe again. This doesn't sound horrible either.
  3. Like the Moore pickup, not crazy about Cundiff. One K will have to go when IK comes back, unless Carp gets IR'd, most likely. Cundiff has not been good. I hope Carp is healthy.
  4. Still waiting to hear what we do about IK. Also hoping Karlos is going to be fine for this week.
  5. Me too. Might not be as good of a blocker as Gray. But the dude's got wheels and I think Roman will know what to do with him.
  6. Boom goes the dynamite
  7. Yeah. If he had a brain he would be the best QB in the game. So much natural ability wasted.
  8. Indeed, but people watching the game thought it looked much more severe.
  9. Kap made Matthews and the Packers defense look stupid a couple times in years past. But hey, it's a new year! Feel a little bad for Kap, I'm sure part of his regression is due to having this new coaching staff, though it's just magnifying the issues we already saw.
  10. LOL guys, looks like it's just a high ankle sprain for old Freddy.
  11. Totally, but for all the issues he has had, it was nice to see him Kay out OBJ like that.
  12. Lions dealing with some injuries, but so far Laken Tomlinson has looked bad, right? We were all thinking he would be our second round pick if we got lucky.
  13. No, you're just stupid! Nobody likes you, Yolo! But seriously, what's with that guy?
  14. But we may also see at the end of the year that the Pats and Giants are two of the best teams in the league and we could still win 11-12 games. Who knows at this point? Let's just wait and see if we can adjust.
  15. Rex likes pre-snap movement to disguise the rush. Sometimes I wonder if that results in the slowness of the snap, or merely gives the appearance of it. Either way, it's not my favorite! And yes, this ties into what Dareus said in that one interview. They want him gumming up the middle. This, unfortunately, sounds similar to what Albery Haynesworth said in that piece he penned for the Players Tribune. "Don't leave the TItans, Jim Schwartz is a defensive genius," etc. Still think Dareus will continue to prove his worth, but I want to see Rex take a page out of Schwartz's book.
  16. Could be. The Giants' trend has been to blow 4th quarter leads though, so it's no surprise. The Giants may have felt lucky the still had the lead that they did, because we should have had 17-24 points by then.
  17. Did mrags change his name? Haven't seen him around here.
  18. At this point it's clear that Rex's scheme is not allowing the D-Line to get much penetration. Their job seems to be to gum up the middle and contain the edges. Hughes, I've noticed, gets to rush more and then Rex often brings at least one LB or DB on the blitz.
  19. Rex said it was a small fracture in his forearm, and he made it sound like it wasn't going to keep him out too long. But we will wait and see what other news and decisions come out this week.
  20. Darby has been our best corner, but you guys are being silly calling out Gilmore. He also had a great game. He allowed two catches out of six targets to OBJ for eight yards, and allowed <50 yards overall. He allowed one TD, but then also got an INT on the goal line. He is an excellent corner. Darby, Gilmore, Graham and AW when he returns could compete with Seattle for the best secondary in the NFL. The former three have all been great in coverage and sure tacklers.
  21. I know. But 1.79 < 2.5. Eli wanted to play the Brady way but was far worse. The defense could have been a little better, but let's face it, the Giants offense was not great and somehow our offense was way worse. The offense should have scored at least two more TDs, probably more, and they failed. And the penalties did hurt us on offense, really in all 3 phases. There are so many different points to address in this game, but without going too far off this pressure topic, I'll just re-state that the D-Line and the lack of pressure was hardly the problem yesterday.
  22. Getting the ball out quicker than Brady will neutralize the rush no matter how we're bringing it. Still, Eli barely broke 200 yards passing, that includes the 51 yard TD that Bradham should have stopped for no gain. The Giants were 3/15 on third down. The defense mostly did their job. I'm as frustrated with the pass rush as anyone, and I still think with the right scheme we can get pressure on the QB quick enough to mess up his flow, but the lack of sacks doesn't tell all in this particular case.
