  1. Players get hurt all the time. You draft a guy in the first round hoping he comes out and produces year one, but sometimes that doesn't happen due to poor performance or injury. I'd rather it be the latter than the former. A pre-existing shoulder injury is not a huge concern like the situation with Myles Jack.
  2. If this fixes the problem for the long term, I'm totally fine with this. We still have a formidable D-Line without him for the first few weeks.
  3. Mett and EJ both looked great this preseason. While EJ was maddening in his regular season play, he still made some good plays. We can talk about how EJ lost us that Jacksonville game, but I remember him taking back the lead before our defense gave up a quick TD to finish the game. Mett, on the other hand, just looked plain bad. It was boring to watch.
  4. He would effectively play both positions. With a good camp, he could become the Bruce Miller in Roman's offense and we can drop Felton for $aving$.
  5. But first, make sure he is standing in bounds.
  6. We all know where you're reading, TT.
  7. Well, either Sam thinks he is way better than he really is, or he doesn't care about winning. Either way, I envy him for having so much wealth he didn't earn.
  8. Thank you for this post. This thread needed it and everyone ignored it.
  9. I'm curious to know what Whaley and the Bills staff thought about Jack and if he was ever in play for them.
  10. Sherman and Peterson have more INTs than Gilmore. It's splash plays, combined with being in a bigger market that keep Gilmore out of the general public's discussions. Same reason Peters beat Darby for DROY.
  11. I agree when comparing them, but given how unceremoniously Sammy's season began, I get the ranking. Can we keep a running list in the OP please?
  12. I'd be elated to see both tonight, as I was kind of thinking they would miss the cut. Gilmore is especially under the radar. I am thinking none of our guys crack the top 50 on account of the underwhelming season, but if we get 4 players on the list that would still be neat.
  13. Could be an injury complication, but I think it has more to do with scheme fit, combined with the drafting of Lawson and Washington.
  14. He's no Leodis McKelvin!
  15. The NFL draft is certainly a different affair, but it makes perfect sense why the NFL has war rooms and the NHL doesn't. I like most of the drama and intrigue surrounding the NFL draft. Assembling an NFL roster is more complicated and without a farm system you really have to make each pick count, where as with the NHL after the big prospects get scooped up the prospects are afforded the luxury to develop at their own pace and hopefully you get productive players in short order.
  16. Wynn was a great rotational player under Schwartz. Maybe the current staff doesn't think he's a fit. The move to OLB made little sense in the first place and since they got Shaq and Adolphus they won't be needing him.
  17. Yeah, I remember a lot of mocks giving us Tavon that year, but I was glad we traded down instead, even though EJ didn't pan out.
  18. Eh, he's a little old now.
  19. Whaley places a huge value on team chemistry, leadership qualities and the like. I think we have added a lot of good personalities to the roster over the past couple years.
  20. I agree. Dareus is too good to just eat space. But looks like they will be lining up all over, which makes sense in a Rex D.
  21. And he'll get paid to fill this hole, rather than the other way around!
  22. This article does not list Buffalo as a good fit. Don't our scouts do their homework!?!?
  23. Combination of injuries and lack of depth. Didn't really see Carrington, Wynn and Kyle all going down, but we definitely weren't cutting it with who we had.
