  1. I think on this board it's been a mix of guys who think Hogan is underappreciated and guys who think the opposite. We certainly talked about him a lot. He did have his moments of obvious heroism (2014 Minnesota game, 2015 Tennessee game), but did also seem to have a knack of coming just short of the first when we needed it. I do think he will impress in New England, and I think we would have liked to match his offer sheet but just couldn't afford the extra couple mil.
  2. Haven't heard anything, but if we aren't hearing anything bad, we can probably chalk it up to being good.
  3. Let's go JW. Excited to see what he's got.
  4. I think the perception shifted after last season. I think Dareus might be the only "star" on that side of the ball, while more serious football fans could at least cite our CBs, Hughes and Kyle, but in a down year and with new talent coming in to start, this makes sense. It's interesting to me that Richie is not being slotted in many top 5's. Based off last year, at least, he was one of our top 3. Obviously that position is not held in as high of a regard as most other offensive positions. My list would be: 1) Sammy Watkins 2) Marcel Dareus 3) Richie Incognito 4) Ronald Darby 5) Jerry Hughes 6) Stephon Gilmore 7) Tyrod Taylor 8) LeSean McCoy 9) Cordy Glenn 10) Charles Clay
  5. You know, I originally phrased that as it "kind of proves the opposite," but for some reason I edited it to be more matter-of-fact. That's my bad. I think most of us here are arguing the exactness of the numbers being thrown out which is silly. Top 5, 7, 10, 11, whatever the number is, your point is that good teams pay top corner talent. You're not wrong about that. Even the Packers, with the almighthy Aaron Rodgers, won their title with two pro bowl corners, giving undrafted & outperforming Tramon Williams an extension mid-season. Gilmore could be entering his prime. I'm not as well-read about our cap situation as others here, so I don't want to speculate too much with #'s, but it does seem like we can be competitive, with our newly drafted D starters replacing some more expensive ones, and value pickups this free agency.
  6. It does, though. If Seattle never wins another championship after having paid Sherman, it proves the exact opposite of your point. But of course it's all a balancing game with paying your top talent, drafting new talent, values in free agency, etc. If you have two young guys performing comparably or maybe slightly worse and you're looking at paying your franchise QB, you have to let the CB go if you're choosing between the two. But if you have the money and the corner is at the top of his game, sure you gotta do what you can to keep the guy. I still think we can come to some reasonable agreement with Gilmore, but I would be shocked if we offer him top 5 $$ to stay.
  7. The Seahawks. Sherman was extended after they won. Maybe even the Broncos. I don't think Talib or Harris were top 10 last year.
  8. It does seem like very few CBs maintain elite performance beyond a 3-4 years.
  9. Allen Robinson is very good, but it's pretty clear (as I've stated before) that the Jags players came out to vote. I think Dareus could be considered a top 30 player in the league, but I don't think he had a better season than last year and certainly it wasn't his flashiest. But hey, these lists have been unpredictable.
  10. So is it safe to assume there are no Bills left on this list? I was holding out some hope that Dareus was gonna get on again, but he wouldn't be top 30.
  11. Haha, I hope it is. I need one of these.
  12. I'm sure karlos just misunderstood what Rex meant by #fullypregnant.
  13. I think with Gronk the concern was that he wouldn't be able to play long term with a bad back. Of course they were wrong, and kind of ironically the guy we picked instead of him is out of the league because of a bad back.
  14. For sure. I think we'll see him start camp as the third RB at worst but if he gets in shape quickly he'll regain his spot at #2.
  15. I love that he's wearing the "All In" hoodie.
  16. Agreed. That being said, I do have a big flag with the grazing Buffalo logo. I like both.
  17. Think the Dareus deal paved the way for this a little bit.
  18. This was supposed to happen last season. EJ did not start a QB controversy then either. But to be fair the defense lost those games just as much as EJ.
  19. Pretty clear the Jags players came out to vote.
  20. He's probably a lot more comfortable in his current position.
  21. Precisely one yard short of the marker.
  22. I don't know what ESPN does with PFF's stats, but you can see the projected starters with their grades from last season at this page: https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-pff-offseason-grades-buffalo-bills/
  23. I'd like to see the whole breakdown of our roster, but I do not care to pay for insider.
