  1. Yeah, my main concern is that he'll need a couple regular season weeks to get back to form. Man, Whaley is doing everything he can to break TT and give EJ another chance to start!
  2. That was his point. Had the Bills successfully signed McCown (he was released in Februrary so he would have been signed before free agency), they wouldn't have signed Taylor at all. So we should be thankful that the Browns beat us in the race for McCown.
  3. Think they meant last year.. Remember how we were trying to bring McCown in?
  4. I've been questioning them since last year!
  5. Would love to see some sort of miraculous comeback for RG3 and his career, but at the same time I do not want Cleveland to all of a sudden become a great sports town. And of course, all the talk about how good he's looked only lasts as long as his knees. He still looks really fragile out there.
  6. I saw what I said I saw! I'm not disagreeing with your overall impression that Goodwin can't cut it at the NFL level, but I don't think we know for sure just yet and I don't think it's because he has poor hands. I think his speed is deadly enough, especially in our offense, that he may warrant a spot over a guy like Boykin. Plus, reports are that he looked great in the scrimmage. As far as I'm concerned he is still somewhat of an unknown. If we cut him, another team will pick him up for his raw abilities alone. Maybe he gets hurt again, maybe he stays healthy and plays a few more years until he loses his speed. We'll see.
  7. I believe RT is going to be a priority next draft, but for now I'm happy with the continuity. Who knows? Maybe Mills will show improvement.
  8. Or to get through preseason. Can't see this dude seeing much playing time without more injuries.
  9. For all the talk about how bad Spikes is in pass coverage, I cannot remember a single time when he was with us that I yelled at the TV "that's what happens when you put Spikes out in coverage!" Meanwhile I do remember yelling about how beastly of a hit Spikes laid on a QB or RB multiple times.
  10. The health is obviously an issue, but I thought Goodwin actually had pretty good hands. Such a small sample size since his rookie season, granted, but I recall him making a few godo catches away from his body and in traffic in that one Jets game he started. It seems silly to bring up a three-years-past game to make a point, but I remember it being the game where I thought to myself "maybe Goodwin really is a football player." Anyhow this 53 is already off because of the Spikes signing. I rather liked Butler last season and it sounds like Corey White struggled. Maybe we'll see Butler keep his spot.
  11. For Dalton, I am looking at his emergence last season before that injury. He was a totally different QB. I could have lumped him into the "Show Me More" category, but I gave him benefit of the doubt because he's got more on-field experience and I see it as a continued progression. Carr maybe I'm a little bullish on with less to go off of, but I like the guy. Matt Ryan in a little puzzling where he was playing lights out to start the season and then got really loose with the ball and we saw the Falcons slip. I attribute a lot of the Falcons struggles the years previous to poor defense and coaching. That said, he could easily fall 10 spots on the list if that trend continues next season, but right now I think he's a guy that most teams would be glad to have at this point. Same thing with Luck. Bad season last year and while his play is erratic we've seen him able to dig himself and his team out of holes in big games (like that KC playoff game a couple years back). It's always tough with these lists because you have to determine how much stock you are putting on their past season vs their collective body of work vs their future projections and it's never going to be perfect.
  12. Palmer was incredible last year and really has been one of the league's top QBs in his time with Arizona. Health is a concern, but with him at QB all season the Cardinals were 2nd in both pass yards and points scored. And if you watch the games, he is surgical. Larry Fitz, Michael Floyd and John Brown may be one of the best threesomes in the NFL, but I think Palmer makes that group better more so than the other way around.
  13. To quote A$AP Rocky "It must beeeeeeeee." This way we have an awesome run thumper in Spikes and a good coverage LB in Z. Brown. Good patch for the time being. Hope to see Reggie come back sooner than later, but we can get it done with these two. Spikes actually played decent coverage the one year he was here. And as I said above, Zach Brown excels in that area so I expect them to split the load.
  14. I tend to agree with matter here. Middle of the pack with significant upside. If I had to do it right here and now, this is what I came up with: "Elite" 1. Rodgers 2. Brady 3. Big Ben 4. Cam 5. Wilson 6. Palmer 7. Brees "Great" 8. Romo 9. Rivers 10. Ryan 11. Carr 12. Dalton 13. Luck "Show Me One More Year of That" 14. Cousins 15. Bortles 16. Tyrod 17. Winston "Adequate/Reliable" 18. Alex Smith 19. Eli Manning 20. Joe Flacco 21. Teddy "Erratic/Unreliable" 22. Stafford 23. Cutler 24. Tanny 25. Fitz 26. Bradford "Unknown/Question Marks" 27. Mariota 28. Sanchez 29. Osweiler 30. Gabbert/Kap 31. RGIII 32. Goff/Keenum Some # rankings are loosely ordered and I've tried to organize it into tiers that god beyond the "elite/very good/good/not very good" framework. You have your elite QBs, your great-but-not-world-class QBs, and then after that it's really subjective how you want to rank them. For me, I think the QBs that have shown they have the skillset to enter the upper echelons but had some inconsistencies in the early goings deserve a higher rank than the reliable, decent guys. Flacco and Manning are good enough to get you a ring with a sturdy defense and have shown the ability to turn it up come playoff time, but their regular season performances, especially the past couple years, leaves much to be desired. After that it's a mix of erratic but talented QBs and a pool of unknowns or guys who have looked bad recently.
  15. Haha, well put. I say not a legit threat. Philbin wanted to dump him for Derek Carr in 2014, and I'm really glad they didn't.
  16. Whoa, thanks for filling me IN on all this!
  17. IK better not make the team. He is bad.
  18. Love the title update. Much clearer now, thanks.
  19. I like the both run and the hit. Glad to see AW back out there.
  20. No surprise there. I think he'll be an adequate starter if Ragland has to miss time. Just no depth beyond that.
  21. NOOOOOOOOO I think that was just warmups.
