  1. I'm a big believer in team guys, team chemistry, players that love the game, always play hard, etc. I don't think that was McGahee. Those things may describe Chris Brown. I thought I'd read he was difficult to deal with in Tennessee. It seems I'm wrong. I think I feel like the Bills are actually going in the right direction offensively. I love the upgrades to the O-line, I don't care what people say about the cost. I like moving McGahee before there was an issue. Losman and Evans are poised to have a very good year. Obviously having a strong RB is going to be critical for us. I think I'd just prefer to find someone that was less of a gamble. It seems Chris Brown is a very large one.
  2. If that is the case, then wouldn't bringing him to Buffalo imply that he's going to be our starter? Doesn't that seem like a step down from McGahee? (and I'm no McGahee fan)
  3. I think my point is there is no market for Chris Brown. He's just watched the teams looking for a RB shrink from 10 to 2 (GB, Buffalo - are there others?) I simply think he needs Buffalo more than Buffalo needs Chris Brown. The only thing I ever hear about Chris Brown is that in 2004 he rushed for 1,000 yards in 11 games. I'm being serious - is that really what supporters are looking to as a reason to bring him in? It just doesn't seem to be enough to me. I'd much rather hope that the Bills have another game plan to address the RB situation. If he really doesn't have character issues, I don't see any problem with bringing him to Buffalo on a small contract to compete for carries...but I certainly don't want him as a starter for next year.
  4. Alright, that's an interesting way to put it. You're right, I'm sure there are teams out there that wouldn't mind Chris Brown playing for free. The following teams just signed a running back without even bringing in Chris Brown for an interview: Denver Baltimore Cleveland New York (A) New York (N) Houston Oakland 25% of the league was in search of a RB and didn't even look Chris Brown's way. If your theory of contractual issues was true, you'd think teams would at LEAST interview him, no?
  5. Honestly...imagine you're a Ravens fan and someone sent you that link. You'd laugh at the Bills fans. There would be 10 page threads taunting it. 5 out of 10 is very kind. I give it a 2.
  6. I don't understand the reports of "the Bills and Lions are the top two teams in the running for Chris Brown." There's no running. Nobody's interested. The Lions just took DUCKETT over Brown. I've been annoyed at Michael Smith all day for trashing the Bills and their horrendous offseason. If we signed Chris Brown, I'd have to admit he was right. I don't really even understand the discussion. It doesn't seem that Brown is the type of character guy Marv is looking for, and he certainly doesn't have the stats to suggest he's remotely worth the headache. Why is he even in the picture?
  7. right. um. that's what i said.
  8. Yeah, I guess - but in realistic terms Cleveland DOES have that choice...and I cannot even imagine them announcing Lynch instead of Peterson.
  9. Cross him off the RB hit list. Not that he was really on it.
  10. I'm a little confused - this discussion seems to imply we might have our choice of RBs at 12. It would seem we'd need to trade up to have a shot at AP, no? In this case, there's no way I'd rather give up draft picks to get AP if we have a shot at Lynch at 12.
  11. Yes! Exactly! Thank you! Ah, more bad memories.
  12. It might have been the right decision, but I think it sits easier for everyone to have made the attempt. I mean, take Vinatieri kicking the ice ball against the Raiders for the win a few years back. Most people assumed he'd miss, but somehow it went through. I'd much rather have seen the attempted FG than a poorly designed 4th and 5.
  13. Yes! That's it! Someone going to hold it up and they dropped it trying to gloat about it. That was price against jacksonville?
  14. No actually I seem to recall it now as someone starting celebrate and then that caused the mistake... I'm sorry, I'll think of it. Royal failing to make sure he got his feet in reminds me of it, I just can't quite place it.
  15. ah, take the lower pick anyhow so the media doesn't have to bash us for "reaching" (whitner)
  16. There was a pivotal play in the last few years when I believe another receiver failed to get two feet in...maybe it was Price? I can't quite place it. I'm thinking it was maybe against the Steelers the last time we had a chance to make the playoffs? Does this ring any bells? I'm sorry this is so vague.
  17. clown uniforms? wait, are you sure you weren't watching sabres highlights?
  18. I love reading about the conspiracy theories...while I really can only speak for PTI(&ATH) I assure you there are no conspiracies. If the Bills are newsworthy, they'll be in the breakdown. If not, they won't be. It's truly that simply.
  19. I think they should allow players to leave their feet on extra points/field goals. You'd have to time this just right...but teams would be able to "launch" their smallest player into the air to attempt a FG block. Imagine the excitement of every extra point as the 135lb 4th string punter gets hurled 20' in the air in an outrageous attempt to block the kick. I'd be glued to the TV for every PAT.
  20. Says Ravens said they were going to pick him at 13, and expected the call from them today....but also says about an hour ago the bills told his agent they'd be taking him at #8.
  21. interesting comments on both shows, I'm going to pass them on for you. thanks.
  22. it's only applicable for the week though. obviously he's not going to be liked this week.
  23. I punched my keybard and nw my key desn't wrk. seriusly.
  24. haha, right, should have read that....
  25. Amazing how many people on the board seem to live right around the corner... Nobody has mentioned the Metro as an alternaitve to driving - if you're working in DC that might be a good option. I get to downtown DC from Alexandria in roughly 30 minutes, daily. It'd be difficult to do that driving.
