  1. Sorry, I've got a hard time changing the channel from the Grateful Dead station. That is, when my radio works. I've got the sirius sportster 4, and the unit works great, however, the car installation is literally a piece of crap. Sirius puts out an excellent product, and i'd recommend it even above directv, the internet, or even the bible itself, but the car installation kit is a very sorry product.
  2. are you with those g uys who waited in line for a day for the xbox360 only to smash it with a hammer after you get it?
  3. I am not, but i'm curious as to who may be camping out tonight or early early tomorrow morning. My big phone day is saturday, when my new every two is due for verizon. I'm dumping my razr and getting a blackberry curve.
  4. I'm with you. I can't stand arena football. It's just too cartoony for me.
  5. relax people, he's not guaranteeing that the buffalo bills will make the playoffs, he's guaranteeing that he expects the bills to make the playoffs. Big difference!
  6. hey, i don't get any e-mails from netflix besides the ones telling me when they've been shipped... under the e-mail subscriptions, would the e-mail that you got qualify as "netflix news"? i'm signing up for it as we speak. Also, I just got off the phone with netflix, and they said that the add profiles, for those of us who don't have them yet, will be reapplied to the website in "the next week or two", so check back in mid july if you are like me and are without subprofiles.
  7. I'm a huge bond fan. I can't wait to see this on November 7th!
  8. "to tell a family secret, my grandmother was Dutch."
  9. Peters will get paid soon, before the season starts and hopefully VERY early into training camp. He's turned himself into a dominating LT, he's however getting paid as a RT currently. He'll get his raise.
  10. Good writeup Lori. I hope you enjoyed your Chautauqua experience!
  11. It's easier to keep the PETA people out of this thread if the word "cage" isn't used.
  12. Lori was scheduled to go. I'm sure she'll have a rundown when she's able to post.
  13. WTF... I'm pretty sure I know the 60 year old technology teacher that ruined everyone's day.
  14. Goodell is a long time Chautauquan. His speech will hopefully be posted as a podcast within the next day or two. Frank Deford's podcast is up from earlier in the week. http://podcasts.ciweb.org/
  15. My dog still does the submissive/excitement peeing if she's crated and we either a) have friends over, b) i come in from the front door instead of the usual garage door, or c) i come to her crate excited, singing, or talking loud. She hasn't done it in a couple weeks, but i've not tested to see if she's broken yet.
  16. link? Back to the dog thing, it sounds like your making a lot of progress with the dog. IF you have her crate and its too big for her, put in a divider. She should have just enough room to turn around and lay down, no more room than that. It seems horribly cruel, but they take it as a positive thing and they will associate the crate with their nest/home. Crate training and housebreaking go hand in hand because she will instinctively be housebroken in her crate.
  17. we have storm doors, so that's a no go, unless we decide to take the storm doors down. her going in and out doesn't really bother me though. My one friend has 3 beagles. She trained them to ring a bell hung on the door to go outside. That's a pretty slick idea.
  18. since you only have the dog for a few days, there's really nothing you can do. Long term, you'll need to set up a schedule and adhere to it strictly. You'll need to start with commands, rewards, and toys for going outside, ingoring and anger when she goes inside. I got a beagle puppy at age 7 weeks in early may. Just in the past week or so have we noticed that she's pretty well housebroken. She still won't tell us when she needs to go out, but she's got enough control to hold it inside, and s he's associated inside with her home and outside where she needs to go to the bathroom. We're just waiting for the day when sh e'll go to the back door and bark.

  20. Just to add to what Lori was stating, anyone of you can go. Just get a gate pass and show up at the Amp. It's general seating, and its open early. You can usually sit down around 8 or 9 to read or use the public Wifi (great for posting a PbP of what's going on). Just a note about the Q and A, generally, questions are submitted in writing and a few good ones get asked. One of the chautauqua officials on the stage will sift through the questions and read them. If you go there expecting to raise your hand and to ask Roger about Lynch's punishment, get over it now, cause it's not happening. Also, I have deep sources from within the organization that tell me that Roger is a Bills fan, however, don't expect him to sing the shout song. Another thing to note, there's NOT going to be 8000 screaming bills fans there. Chautauqua pulls its summer population from all over the country, so even though its close to Buffalo, generally somewhere in the 50-60% range are bills or sabres fans. Last year, Ronan Tynan came and did a speal about the Sabres and he got a little more than a golf clap. Some more notes on Chautauqua, get there early and stay late. If you have a gate pass, you're free to experience the entire institution, not just the hour long Goodell lecture. It's a totally different place that to most people sounds interesting but "its not for them", however, i've never once met a person who has actually been there and not liked it. If you go, you'll be hooked, i promise that. Last note, www.ciweb.org posts podcasts of most of the lectures. I'd be shocked if Goodell's speech isn't podcasted for all of us to listen to after the fact.
  21. My wife flew home to youngstown ohio today for a week. I can't go due to my s ummer classes, but when they're over, we're both driving to buffalo and chautauqua in august.
  22. I wonder if Rob Johnson was in on the attack.
  23. I am aware that there is no cure for emphysema. I was stating that a 20 something year old body that has suffered years of abuse has a better chance to compensate than does a 60 year old body suffering from decades of abuse.
  24. If she gets herself clean, as of this morning, and stays clean, she can live a long life. She's young enough to live through this health scare. Unfortunately, she's an addict, and if she goes back, it will kill her quickly.
