So, when they play loose, do you expect an all out passing effort? Edwards going 31-49 for 371 yards and 4 TDs? If so, I'm hoping for the same!

Two Things I Has Happy to See Today
Corp000085 replied to BillsNYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A) I really do think that the Bills need to show some horrible effort in some key positions. QB is not one of them. Say what you want about TE, but he is the QB of the present and future. He started off horribly, but he ended up playing a very good game. I wish that some of the playmakers like lynch, evans, and reed had TDs, but whatever. TE is finishing what he started. After this disaster of a season, you can't really ask for more. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
Corp000085 replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, I know it's all over, and I'm sad about that now. But for 3 hours this late afternoon, I was so so so proud to be a Bills fan. No matter what happened or what will happen, on 12/20/08, I can proudly say GO BILLS!!! -
I started this thread a few days ago and have gotten some good input in it. Let me clarify myself: DJ has sucked goat balls as a head coach. He has had some success throughout his 3 years here, but all in all, he sucks. HOWEVER, keeping DJ and restructuring the football department would be light years ahead of firing everyone and starting over from scratch. The only way I could see DJ being fired is if they could score a championship caliber coach like cower, holmgren, or even billick. My opinion could change today though. I don't really know if i can go through another gutless performance today.

Bills special tems once again special...
Corp000085 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think about it logically though.. You have a guy in a mid management position who has bounced around from company to company in the same position. He's very good at his job. Chances are, he simply enjoys his job. You've got an IT guy who has worked for 5 whatever companies and he has not ever been promoted. He's very good at his job. Chances are, he simply likes the look on the morons' faces when he makes their taskbar "reappear" or gets their printer to work. You have another guy who has bounced around but is very bad at his job. Chances are, he just sucks so that's why he hasn't been promoted. -

I'm not Lori, but I'll try to answer it anyways! I'm fairly certain that he doesn't want to advance to head coach or into the college ranks as a HC. Usually guys who jump around because they don't get along with management, regardless of the sport or profession outside of sports, well, they almost always suck. Not here. Chances are that Bobby is content doing what he's doing for the salary that he's making. Can't blame the guy for avoiding the criticism that guys like Jauron get 24/7. -
I may only be playing the devil's advocate here, but after a few days of thinking, but I truly believe the Bills simply cannot fire DJ and be successful next year. Now, the coordinators, that's another story. I believe that DJ has sucked this year as a head coach, but it would far far worse for the franchise to start over than it would be to have a sucky head coach. Ralph needs to invest in some strong coordinators and hire a GM to run the football operations. They do not need a micromanager type in Donahoe, but they do need someone to run a wise draft and to check ralph wilson when he wants to draft some random running back. Jauron CAN be successful, and to some extent, he was earlier this year. Why did the wheels fall off? Was it DJ simply being a bad head coach? Was it DJ allowing too much power to his coordinators? Was it DJ taking orders from ralph himself? Nobody really knows. All that matters is that it gets fixed in the off season. Remember, back in september, this was arguably the best team in the league. You can't start over from scratch next year. A major overhaul, yes, but canning DJ is not the answer.

And after watching t hat video, I do not want any California QB ever again. Give me a texas guy (except for vince young). They sure don't make them like that any more.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3776838 He didn't invent the passing game, but he definitely revolutionized it. Guys like Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, Jim Kelly, and yes, JP Losman and Rob Johnson can all thank their lucky stars for slingin sammy. Without him, the face of football would be vastly different. He was 94 and died from complications of Alzheimer's and pneumonia.

Ok, here's what I really think happened: a) DJ signed his contract in october b) it has a clause in it only guaranteeing the contract based on a certain number of wins or making the playoffs this year. Hey, if this happened, it was a good idea. The bills were 4-0 and looked like they were in command. the opt out gave some insurance to ralph and the bills. c) the legit news was leaked in october, which is why we started to talk about it then. d) after the swoon, the taxi driver "leaked" the story to get everyone fired up so that ralph can swoop in and make the save the monday after the pats game. If my scenario is right, honestly, neither side messed up too bad. The bills had t heir winner coach in october and now that hindsight has come, we see that he wasn't really a winner so ralph can fire him without penalty. The only bad thing about this story is the misinformation being leaked. One think i'm 100% sure of is that this is a great soap opera for us.

I dont want to see Losman on the field again
Corp000085 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't it scary that we're all counting out Edwards for the season? Unfortunately, its probably the reality too. -
If I can remember correctly, he didn't exactly knock him over with his arms, but he didn't exactly hold back either. It's a gray area that will probably go against the bills due to the fact that the play will be showed ad nauseum on sportscenter for the next 24 hours.

A) that ref got PWNED B) he was shoved by Duke Preston, which may lead to a suspension. This is good news because it means that Preston won't be able to play for the bills!

BTW, is anyone still down on McKelvin?
Corp000085 replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is very quick. I wish he'd play tighter more often though. I hate that this defense, in general, seems to give a 10 yard cushion on seemingly every pass play. -
Anyone else see the hold in the endzone on the punt?
Corp000085 replied to ofiba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the ref got his when he had his nose broken as a resut of setting a pick on preston. -
So when did Trent really injure the groin???
Corp000085 replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
was it in the KC game where he ran for a first down or possibly that TD late in the game? I don't remember the exact circumstance, but I do remember him getting up and hobbling a little bit. -
PFT reporting Jauron may be gone at season's end
Corp000085 replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I too like Jauron. He's a good guy and seems like a decent head coach. I think he relies too much on his assistants though and does not have a grasp for the offense at all. I do think that someone stronger must be brought in as a GM. Let's leave the russ brandon COO foolishness behind the bills. Bring in a strong GM/vp of football operations guy like Cower or someone else and run with that. I'd be ok if jauron were the coach next year, but there has to be a better offensive philosophy and someone to check Jauron in the football department. I know, I know, ralph tried and failed with the donahoe experiment, but there has to be someone to run the football operations who is completely separate from the business side of the operation, and that person must insist that ralph stay out of their way. However, if Jauron must go, then either give the illusion to the fans that ralph cares about winning and bring in a big name like cower for the head coaching position, OR, go with my GM idea and bring in some other patsy head coach to answer to the strong GM. -
its tivoing now. i'll check it out tomorrow morning.

Dude has a point... Bob Kalsu, remarkable human, unremarkable football player, on the wall. OJ. Remarkable football player, horrible human, off the wall!

The funny thing about this play is that it friggin happened last week against the 49ers too! -
we need a DE or two to generate some pass rush. Other than that, you can't really fault the defense for these losses.
