"Florida's Emmitt Smith may be one of the first backs selected" It's funny to look back with hindsight goggles on and read about the all time leading rusher that wasn't a sure bet to even be the first back selected... -

There was a rumor that he had died and it spread through the bills message boards rather quickly. It was deemed false after about an hour and a few thousand views/replies. The original message has been deleted here.

Those of us who haven't fretted too much about losing 30% since last summer and have no interest in moving out of the market will laugh at this in 10 years...

Need some advice for my little 2 1/2 yr old girl
Corp000085 replied to HelloNewman's topic in Off the Wall Archives
set a timer for 30-45 minutes. Every time it goes off, she goes to the bathroom and tries, no matter what she's doing. Eventually, you'll catch her during a time when she wants to keep playing rather than go to the bathroom. She'll probably tantrum, but send her anyways. If she goes, reward her. If not, make her stay for a few minutes (or till she stops tantruming). She'll realize that she needs to use the bathroom when she has to go rather than when she's forced to go and you'll break the cycle. I don't have any kids of my own, but i did stay at a holiday inn express last night. -
correct.. the key is good for one year, then you just resubmit another registration form and they e-mail you another key.

so who wants to petition the IRS or the ND secretary of state office for wire fraud on this great website's behalf? -
According to the jim ross website, test did take up the wwe rehab program last year, so it seems as if he had some demons. I do sincerely hope, for his family's sake and for the sake of pro wrestling that he died naturally or of complications of past drug use rather than an OD of some sort. It's sad that it has long been cliche for a young pro wrestler to die alone in his apartment or hotel room only to be discovered 12 hours later. I'll withhold judgment on this one till the toxicology reports get released, but RIP Test.

I use firefox with adblock plus, which does an excellent job of blocking spyware. I use defender and the windows firewall which comes with vista. I use avast for my antivirus. I have not tried avg 8, but i've heard that its sluggish. Avast is not. I know for a fact that norton is very sluggish. If I were you i'd roll with a free AV solution and just use the built in windows firewall.

Seriously, enough with the renewal threads! I live in NC and I want nothing more than enough money to fly home every weekend to use season tickets. I'd give my left nut for season tickets and would never even consider dumping them, ever. I am envious of anyone with season tickets and I think its a joke to even consider dumping them!

silly question, but did you take off the keyboard top off or did you physically unhook the keyboard circuit board from the motherboard? I have seen laptops that have a single keyboard unit and some that has the actual plastic keys and the underlying circuit board as a separate unit. It probably has a tiny 4 pin connector or something.

Went to high school with those kids. Horrible. Still trying to contact friends and family in the immediate area of the crash.

As per a request, I have revived this thread. I have now had the car for roughly 4 and a half months, and it still is awesome. I would specifically like to comment on how the engine has faired now that it is well underway to being broken in. I honestly can't really notice a difference in how the engine runs now compared to when I first got it. It does not run smoother, more harsh, or anything. You can't even really tell its a diesel at all if you're behind the wheel unless your windows are rolled down or you're under an overhang at an ATM or drive through window. You really can hear the whirl of the turbo and the diesel clatter when you roll the car forward, but it's incredibly mild and honestly, if you're not a car person, you wouldn't know the difference between the sound of this engine and a similar gas engine. I have noticed that my mileage has increased ever so slightly. I don't have any raw data yet, but I "believe" that I've been able to stretch a tank slightly farther than I was able to in november or december. Believe it or not, I have yet to fill the tank up under normal driving conditions. I filled the tank up in november in Buffalo, back here near fayetteville, and that tank lasted till I had to fill up to drive home for christmas, and the tank that I filled up driving back just ran out a couple weeks ago. This current tank of diesel will be the first complete tank burned on city driving. I've gone back and forth to college, which is a 15 mile round trip drive, plus work and here and there and have gone 260 miles on between 3/8 and 1/2 tank. As for the cold weather winter conditions. The car itself runs just fine in the show. I've driven jeeps, explorers, trucks, even school busses in the snow and crappy conditions, but the best cars that I have been in have been various audis and VWs. The engine itself? Well, the weekend before christmas, the air temperature was -8 one morning in Youngstown, OH. The car had been out all night. If this were an older diesel, it would have literally taken minutes to get the glow plugs warmed up and the engine cranked. This car? The glow plug light stayed on for about 20 seconds, and the engine cranked like it did when it was 70. Needless to say, I was impressed. One last thing: gas prices have gone up over the past month. Diesel, here at least, has gone down. I think gas is about $1.91 and diesel is about $2.15. It's very cost effective, and clean. Call me a hippie, but I fully endorse this car, and I fully endorse the auto industry getting on the environmentally friendly diesel bandwagen, pun intended!

My dog now is an 11 month old beagle. She's a normal, happy puppy, and I don't even want to think about the day when I have to make a choice. As for my old pets, my cat had cancer and my parents were toying with the idea of taking her in. They were going to bring her the next day, simply because it was a snowstorm and the vet was 10 miles away during this particular evening. Well, the cat simply fell over paralyzed, but still conscious. They sat with her for a couple hours before she died. They tried to get up and leave her in peace, but she had a distressed look and tried to meow, so they just sat with her. Luckily I was at college. As for my old dog, a sheltie, he had been suffering with bladder cancer for about a year. He'd get bad and rebound, and that cycle continued. One bad day, my mother said she just knew. She took him in and literally had zero regrets from the second she put him into the van. Sad yes, but regretful, no way. Another sad story which will be appreciated in the future... Our good friend at work had a german pointer which had a bunch of various ailments. She had been wrestling with the idea. One morning, she knew it was time, so she called the vet to come to her house to do it (which is a really good vet... that's who we use for our beagle). Well, the dog laid there for a while, sat up, looked at my friend, who was sitting next to the dog, and then it died, AS THE VET WAS RINGING THE DOORBELL. The vet came in, sat with my friend for a few minutes, and took the body to be cremated. It's been a few months now, and she's finally coming around to saying that thisi was the best thing that could have happened. Why did I write these three stories? a) all former pet owners, and most current pet owners, have gone through this before. We know how it goes. b) In all these stories, either the animal or the person just knew. Movinon, I think you already know the answer to your dilemma. Just remember, we'll all be here after you have done what needs to be done.
