Rex Ryan middle finger incident
Corp000085 replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Three things 1) its not a big deal. 2) It's not a serious offense that needs to be apologized for. 3) The NFL has all the right in the world to fine Rex. Their league, their money, their rules. The biggest thing here is that its not a big deal, at all. Fine him and get it over with. Next... -

If you want a super thin, portable laptop that can reasonably run productivity software, you should consider a macbook air. It's thin, lightweight, and it will suit your needs if you can make the jump from windows to os x. You did mention a dvd player though, which the air does not have. You'd have to get an external dvd player, or use your home network to your advantage (i.e. using a dvd player on another computer on your home network). The macbooks and macbook pros are AWESOME laptops. I have the 15" MBP. You get the dvd superdrive, but it becomes a little thicker, although not as thick as a run-of-the-mill sub $1000 laptop you can buy at a big box store. Obviously price is a drawback for macs. You pay a premium for the apple brand, but you get what you pay for in this instance. I've never had a problem... Hell, the last time i even restarted my computer was when i was forced to due to a software update, about 3 months ago.

Congrats. As the father of a 5 month old, listen to some of my advice. Give the MIL some rope. She'll want to help out and whatnot because your kid is the child of her daughter. Suck it up and go with it. If she oversteps her bounds, and you'll know when that happens, just remember that you're the father of the child and you have the authority to veto any decision the MIL makes. If she's reasonable, you'll never have to get to this point, but you always have veto options. Use your spouse as a mouthpiece for you. Good communication with your wife will lead to her communicating your needs to her mother. The key here is you have to be reasonable, MIL has to be totally unreasonable, and you have to communicate these feelings to your wife for this to work effectively. I've had a good relationship with my MIL since the birth of my son. I had similar feelings as you have expressed, but it all works out. If everyone is reasonable and level headed, there will never, ever be a hint of a problem.

Anyone notice the Bills coffee mug on the desk with the saints mug? Odd that they wouldn't have used a colts mug. Wonder what the Bills connection is at SNL these days, besides the Reich skit.

Holy double standard. It shouldn't be like this at all, but thus is the society we live in. Give this kid a gold star for effort, and an F for stupidity. Remember kids, if you're bagging your 20something teacher, erase all txt, email, and IM chat logs before your parents find it!

We got about 2" of snow in Fayetteville, NC last night. Just north of us, in the RDU area, they got a few more inches. The problem though is that we're basically having a steady does of freezing rain/sleet throughout the day with temps dropping into the mid 20's. We'll have plenty of ice by the time this is over. As for people panicking, its a vicious cycle. A bunch of idiots make a run on the stores, leaving nothing for us hearty folk, thus forcing us to join in on the rush. Friggin stay off the roads people!

Vanek's goal was pretty. Remember when he scored 40 for us?

If by "piece or two" you mean the balance of the regular season and a playoff run, then yes, you are correct. This is a defense first team that has lots of grit and hitting ability. Just like 99, except they can actually score goals.

Space Shuttle - Anyone gone to see a launch?
Corp000085 replied to gmac17's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I haven't been to the Cape to see a launch, but I have been in Vero Beach, FL with my grandparents on numerous occasions to see a launch. Vero is about 80 miles south so you can't see it close up, but you sure can see the contrail and the yellow/orange flame from the exhaust nozzles. I'd love to actually be on the cape for a launch. I'll wait till they start shooting off the orion with the Ares I rocket. That'll be a show and a half! -
Link, grand wizard?

Whoopee. He got the vehicle to stop. 15 rounds with a rifle is a bit excessive. That dude is no Lee Harvey or Charles Whitman, thank God.
-
He got off 15 rifle rounds and didn't hit the perps, let alone a bystander? Worst. Shot. Ever.
-
Chuck Berry anyone? If a dude could make an electric guitar sing, it's him. Plus, without Chuck, there's no rock and roll today, period.

Why are you guys rooting for the Saints? People, if the Vikings win today and lose the Super Bowl, they reclaim sole possession of "Biggest Super Bowl Loser". A win today by the Vikings and a loss by the Vikings in 2 weeks means the all Bills fans over the age of 25 get to have a small victory.

Fair enough. Also, tom hanks was on piano if memory serves me right.

According to his wiki page, Allen named his son Rowdy Allen, in homage to Rowdy Roddy Piper. I bet he's a "They Live" fan. I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum!

Did you even watch it? He had Ben Harper, Billy Gibbons, Max Weinberg, CoCo, and Beck backing him up. Conan did a sweet guitar solo during the bit. The cowbell thing is 10 years old and stale, however, the entirety of that bit was a masterful way for the show to end.
-
Gotta add Garcia to the list. He had a style of his own. Fused classical guitar, country guitar, bluegrass guitar, blues guitar, and rock and roll guitar to make a very unique, impossible-to-copy style.

Mr. Nix, I speak as someone who knows and understands mullets and first round draft busts. Please trade Aarom Mabin, future considerations, and a bag of pucks for Jared Allen and his luscious hair. Sincerely, The Boz

That is incorrect.
