Was up ad watching CNN in my apartment in pembroke meadows, penfield, ny when it happened. Very tragic event. This event really marks a bookend in my life too. Soon after the Columbia disaster, we (my fiancé at the time) decided to visit our friends in nc. We moved here 4 months later. Now, 10 years later with 20 years teaching experience, 1 marriage weekend, 1 house, and a healthy 3 year old in tow, STS-107 was the end of my time in Rochester and the beginning of my adult life. You all can call me soprano all you want, but I have a very reliable source to me that is involved with research on behalf do the nfl to link brain trauma throughout careers to the post retirement affects of concussions. Basically, they're trying to prove that trauma suffered before the nfl, plus trauma suffered under nfl contracts equals the long term suffering. If they can prove damage before the nfl, that will help mitigate the damages paid by the nfl. Most importantly, this implies that the nfl is going to pay up, but not 100% of the damages.

Yes, he's HOF worthy, just like bonds, McGwire, Clemens, and oj Simpson. But a message will be sent if he has to wait 6 rather than 5 seasons.

I just sent that link to my wife to decipher. It's WAAAAY too soap opera for me to even begin to understand. I do like the angles that could happen in the near future. A) This has already been initiated... The damage control angle, where Te'o gets ND to back him and they both claim hoax. This is a great angle, because if he is lying, then he also drags ND down with him. B) Te'o is gay and this is all a big cover to hide his true lover. The Catholic university as well as his own and family's Mormon faith play a large role too, especially since his father is now either in on the coverup or is being used by his son unknowingly. C) Te'o and his co conspirators made up the whole thing to enhance his position. D) Te'o was hoaxed, he found out, and was blackmailed. this could tie into the gay angle. I don't watch too much in the way of soap operas, but this is like a February Sweeps storyline here.

I saw that show when it was on a few years ago... I will get shredded for this, but its very tough to not root for the guy. I can't stand him cause he constantly beat the Bills but he effectively started out as a complete scrub and is now considered one of the best ever. I happened to sit next to his family at the first or 2nd Bills game that he played in 2000 or 2001. They were very normal people and were just rooting for their son. Yes, he comes off as arrogant now, yes he's the son of satan because he dominates, but seriously, how can anyone not respect what he's done. One of the best ever, if not the best ever, from very humble beginnings. Dude looked like he should have been playing Everquest in a Michigan dorm room all day rather than working out for an NFL team's draft board back in the day...
