IT will be a high 2006 draft pick and a low pick tomorrow, if it goes down... if not, travis for a couple picks next year and we get shelton anyways when he's cut in june.

After some thought about my emotions, and the reality that the house WILL NOT(!!!!) sell to anyone not paying straight up cash, i'm fairly confident that they'll either accept my offer after some weekend discussion, or they'll reject it and i'll submit another offer in a month if we haven't found something else before then. Their loss, not mine.

And i'm sure being tied with tim russert as the two biggest bills homers on national tv doesn't hurt either?? My vote is for salsbury, tom jackson when he's in discussion with michael irvin, and hodge. -
bad time to update my house thread, but here we go. Market value = $98,000 Their listing price = $110000 their 2002 purchase price = $90000 My initial offer = $100000, they pay $3000 for closing, we get $3000 for carpet allowance. Their counter offer = $108500, $3000 closing, $2000 carpet My FINAL offer = $105000, 2000 carpet, 3000 closing. According to everyone involved, they're either not willing to sell, or in denial. I should have included in the counter offer that they would be forced to use the contract as toilet paper. Ok, i';ll be looking to see if they accept in a couple of hours.

Cell Phone Service - Keeping the same number
Corp000085 replied to #41's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went from sprint to verizon and ported my number. It's free of charge (by law, i believe) and simple. I just had to provide my sprint account #, telephone number, billing name and address. It's way easier to port than to remember and give out a new telephone number. You're an idiot if you don't port. Edit: i have a motorola v710... awesome phone. -

I'm waiting on a counteroffer... For the first time since about 1979 i'm thinking about something other than the bills on a football weekend. -
Where's the choice for stress related brain aneurism or uncontrollable diarrhea?

I tend to agree with you on this... There is no way he could be talking about the man who's dad runs parenting with dignity. For god's sake, mac and drew were on the today show last year!

duey, i'd go on record for saying that kenny davis was the best backup RB of all time, but i won't since i lack the energy to research all time backup RBs since 1920. -
Yes. I have sufficiently covered my butt with the offer. I'm just in a holding pattern now to either receive good news, no news, or a counter offer. I hate doing crap on a friday!

Hey, what kind of software could i use to download dvd quality movies? Also, what program could i use to burn the files onto a dvd, and possibly what program will bypass copy protected dvd content?? fezmid, help me on this! I'm a pre K teacher in a public school for kids with developmental and learning delays (think short bus, and yes we have a sense of humor about our jobs!)

I believe they'll be in control. I met with the wife the other day. She explained the new lots that were being cleared for houses, but mainly talked about school. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher, so they were discussing that test i was talking about. We're not lowballing them in any means. It's just the initial offer that will get tinkered with slightly and signed unless someone else comes into the picture.

congrats

Well i know it won't close for a while, but it might be squared away quickly. Dad is already at his new base and mom is 7 months pregnant. One kid is in 3rd grade (the big testing year in NC), so they're going to be staying in town till at least may 25th. I'd be happy going back and forth with the contract a few times till we agree. This is just the first offer. As for contingencies, the bid will be accepted and the good faith offer given to them with the condition that it would be rescinded and we'd be paid back fully if the home inspection is unsatisfactory.
-
Well, the bid is in. We bid above the market value of the house, but below what they were asking. Also, we bid about $500 more for the carpet allowance than the estimates we received. Hopefully after some dickering on the two prices, i'll be set to close by monday or tuesday.
-
this is what i have done. The seller is using a different agent, so we don't have to worry about the dual agent agreement. And guys, my realator won't hand me a contract without a provision for a home inspection. For all that i feel about picking a house quickly, we did our homework with the real estate agency selection.
-
thanks, we've lived here for 2 years so we know the area. Ok, my kids are here so i have to go teach. i'll check my thread around 1. thanks for the input everyone!
-
I'm going to bid under, but ask for less on the carpet allowance. I'd be the only bidder currently. Also, the owner decided to stay outside while we were inside. Her husband is military, already at his new base, and she's about 8 months pregnant. The agent seemed pretty confident that the bid she drew up would work, as the asking price is slightly higher than the neighborhood average. She's going to do more research on things today while i'm at work. She already stated that this would be a standard portion of the bid. It might even be NC law, but i'll have to ask. Either way, she'd put it in the bid.
-
Well, i'm about 99% sure about the house. I just would like to go back and check out plumbing, the crawlspace, attic, foundation, garage floor, roof, etc. carefully before i put a bid down. I will know by the end of the day though!
-
This is more of a rant, so hear me out... We've known we'd move this spring/summer, since we were married last summer. We currently rent, never owned a house before. Anyways, we've only been formally looking with an agent for the past 2 weeks or so. Yesterday we found the perfect house. The only glaring needs would be a refrigerator and new carpet. They're offering a carpet allowance/discount. So, i'm going back today to do a more detailed lookthrough before we put down a bid. So, for experienced homebuyers, is this the time to start losing sleep and becoming excited, or am i getting ahead of myself?? I have a mortgage approval and funds for the down payment/closing costs set, so unless i see a crater under the house, or something to that effect, i could potentially have a bid worked out by tonight. I've just never done this before. My parents are telling me to slow down and look more, but i've already looked at every single house in town at our price range. They keep using their example of looking for almost a year, and bla bla bla. We're in a military town and houses go extremely fast, so this house could be gone by monday. Yes, this should be in a blog, move it if you have to, but at least i'm using the ot icon!!

My sister has the standalone tivo, and it has a wireless nic built in. I thought that was sweet... As for me, i have the dtv tivo connected to an AC telephone bridge (talk about unsecure!) All is well though. I'm moving in the near future so i'll just wire everything to the back of the tv, like it should be!
-
thanks for the heads up... I guess i will have to search for the next showing... (They need to put out a remote access tivo so i can set the thing to record from work)
