  1. Gave CPR to a drowning 4 year old. I guess agents have hearts after all. Who would have known? Good for him! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=2111853 edit: crap, i'm off of my game... thanks for combining threads.
  2. maybe he's a fan of a certain team
  3. that too.
  4. Randy should definitely be on there. For one, he's in the top 60% of receivers, plus he shows that characteristic cred' that ESPN is looking for, Fo Shizzle. ESPN always weights their polls and commentary towards the guy/team with the most popularity/ street appeal over the best. Players from small market teams like the Buffalo Bills, sabres always get slighted in those polls. I can think of one exception to the rule: Mario Lemieux with the pens. During hockey season, you'd think that ESPN was a religious channel and their diety was mario lepieux. Like all forms of media and entertainment, ESPN is slanted towards one direction instead of being in the middle.
  5. sterling sharpe over andre? i think not.
  6. That's where you're wrong. As far as i'm concerned, Travis Henry left the team last offseason, the day that willis proclaimed himself ready to practice. Remember two years ago how travis said he'd get 2000 yards?? Remember how friggin hard that guy ran up the hole?? You saw zero of that talent last year with willis breathing down his back. Talent is only half the issue. One can only look as far as RJ for that. I saw RJ, as i saw travis as being extremely talented at their position, but look what happened when real life took over?? RJ sucked, and so did travis (to a lesser degree of course). Travis couldn't handle that willis mcgahee was the real deal. He didn't have it in him to shake that when he got on the field. That's why he tripped against oakland. That's why he didn't get into the end zone that same game. That's why he simply couldn't gain sh-- on the ground. I'm glad he's gone, and i'm more glad he went to a hated team. In travis' defense though, he was a workhorse for his first 3 seasons here. That dude ran hard, never complained about injury or anything, and simply gave it all. Unfortunately though, we weren't seeing his true colors.
  7. I must have drunk myself silly... its a dead link.
  8. A new car!
  9. I agree. For as much as we hated the guy for fumbling, pass blocking, catching, bi+ching, and for being an all around moron, he delivered in the running and heart department. I think we tend to overlook the fact that the guy ran for 1300 yards with a broken leg and ribs. Say what you want, but travis henry still is a GREAT first and second down back. He had a really terrible year last year, but who knows what that was from. Just as i expect bledsoe to throw about 2500 yards before week 9, i expect travis to get his 1000 by about week 10. Good luck, and i wish you luck attempting to make it out of the backfield in next year's bills/titans wildcard playoff game.
  10. wasn't his name red cashen? I wonder how that guy is doing these days. http://www.google.com for me please?
  11. 2001 3-13 2002 8-8 2003 6-10 2004 9-7 total 26-38 I'll give you that we were losers from 2001-2003 with gregg williams. But things seem to be turning around. You're right that the bills are losers with TD, but that's just cause MM and co. have only put in a year. I give TD an incomplete. He did some good things in the draft, like selecting parrish to compliment reed, dumped phat pat and jennings to save cap space, drafted everett, and traded henry. I will be able to grade TD on this offseason after parrish has played a few games and everett is back from his injury. We'll also see how the defense holds up without williams, or if the left side of the line takes a hit. I do not think TD is done with the o line personnel though.
  12. In this case, you don't need hindsight. The bills got a great trade for henry based on what was offered before today. arizona for a fat slob??? a 4-5 round pick? i'll take a high 3rd rounder anyday. Good things come to those who wait.
  13. I think TD got what he wanted in the first place. Now, instead of trading travis for an underachieving fat slob of a LT in arizona, he gets another draft pick next year. I just hope that the 3rd rounder could bump to a 2nd rounder based on performance. I haven't read if that's the case yet. Either way, i'd take a high 3rd rounder for a RB who's intelligence rivals a concrete slab.
  14. I AM A DIVISION MANAGER!
  15. no, but i heard thurman like his drinks stiff.
  16. I want to know what everyone here drives. Make, model, year, color, upgrades, tweaks, links to pictures. I'll start: 2000 Volkswagen Passat GLS silver exterior, black cloth interior. No mods, with the exception of using mobil 1 15w 50 oil, which actually makes a HUGE difference with the engine temperature and smoothness of the drive.
  17. I have no problems bragging about the number of homers i got back then!
  18. you know, i heard the exact same thing from my teammates about my cup.
  19. the andy milikakis (sp?) show is by far the worst on mtv right now. The show is based on the man show boy from 5 years ago doing stupid 15 year old things. I am dumber for watching that show.
  20. i absolutely love mythbusters. I remember having a mult-page thread on cooling beer with ice/water/salt/fire extinguishers/etc. a few months ago. Great stuff, plus the two girls are cute.
  21. http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/13/reh...alth/index.html when news of an important old guy going to the hospital with failing health, one can only recall the final months of pope john paul ii. I don't mean to politicize this thread or anything, but maybe there's a reason (i.e. you have 1-3 months to live) why he didn't resign at the end of the court session. Just thought more people would read this here than in PPP. get well soon william reinquest.
  22. that's incorrect: The Blackbear has the most balls.
  23. read FFS's post. Yes. Management is competent. I do tend to part with FFS's assesment of quinn though. During quinn's first go-around, the sabres were moving into a new building, lost both of their original owners, lost their captain to injury, had the ted nolan/john muckler/[insert name of team president here... i totally draw a blank, but he was that weasel with the red hair]/dominik hasek power struggle, had regias, etc. I give quinn's first go-around an incomplete. Same for his second go-around. Although, i know for a fact that quinn has learned from his mistakes to leave the hockey department to run things, and he has a financially sound and smart owner to check him if he makes a mistake. The sabres still have a very good farm system, good scouts, they have a solid checking line, great defense (assuming Z signs), and towards the end of the 03-04 season, were able to put the puck in the net. Satan is still on the edge of the 50 goal plateau, we have 3 starting goalies (yeah yeah, no playoff experience, but that didn't really hamper nikali khabibulin, that unknown from the flames, moose from the pens a few years ago, etc.) This is a playoff team with stable ownership, good coaches, and yes, good management.
  24. and we still have regier, ruff and an owner who doesn't launder money through the team. While they're not a lock to compete for the cup this year, they're definitely a lock to at least be in the middle of the pack....
