so far, Goliath is falling hard. 14-0 steelers. The game is not over by a longshot, but indy's secondary is taking a beating, and the indy offense looks like the bills offense in pasadena.

Don't you think that Belichick could...
Corp000085 replied to stephenjames716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL will let BB wear a ripped up sweatshirt, but the guy from the 49ers was denied wearing a suit to honor his father. Go figure. -
surprised-no talk here about marv's first screwup
Corp000085 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is he was keeping all options open and it just came out bad. I have not lost one bit of faith or respect for marv. -
good rule... I never did understand how an offensive pass interference was a 10 or 15 (i forget what it is) penalty, but a defensive PI call can go anywhere from spot of foul and auomatic first down to a 99 yard penalty. Seems a little skewed against the defense.

I'd be willing to bet that ralph doesn't talk back to marv.

To live in Boston... and be @ a sports bar

that was one old, tired, beaten defense last night. The winds of change are starting to churn in the AFC east -
champ and boss bailey? Somewhere there's a mother with an inferiority complex.

I think we saw the true grit of New England
Corp000085 replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first thought that came to my mind was how much class our Bills had. When one of your proudest moments of your team is an undersized white receiver causing a fumble in a 60-10 blowout, you really know you had something there. The pats are crybabies. If belickek were the genius that he was supposed to be last night, he would have had that under control. -
Bruschi (genuflect) may be Omnipotent

Jesus vs. Bruschi? Bears vs. God? My pick would be with God, but it would be in overtime. -
Donahoe is spinning the national media
Corp000085 replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would it really matter if he returned to ESPN? They're such a farse. People who watch ESPN for facts, truths, unbiased news and scores are like those who watch WWE because they think its real. I'll admit to watching ESPN, but i know its fake, just like i watch WWE. It's mindless entertainment that i take with a grain of salt. It is pathetic that the only true sports news i receive is box scores and official press releases from teams and leagues. I would not be suprised with doanhoe returning to espn and the anti-bills reporting or complete non reporting of the bills to continue. Could you imagine this board if he's a draft analysist for ESPN in april? Hystaria!! -
Levy's first 2 BIG mistakes
Corp000085 replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL is snickering at us because Wilson stepped in and fired the media loveboy TD. They'll continue to laugh till the bills are 7-1 or 6-2 by halloween next year. -
One thing in favor of hiring Haslett
Corp000085 replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm all for hiring hasslet to coach the bills. It's his second chance, with his favorite team. I have a feeling he'd do things right here. Hire good coordinators (not his friends). With that said, it was not hard to gameplan against the 8th worst team in the NFL this year... Hell, our offense barely beat the texans. Getting new orleans to .500 over a 5 or 6 year period is pretty good. I'd take hasslet in a heartbeat, but i still think marv will be the coach. -
nooooooo! - is the writing on the wall?
Corp000085 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that whole minority rule is so stupid... It's counterproductive and hypocritical. Not to make this a PPP thread, but it's the same as this example: One result of the application of the No Child Left Behind laws actually leaves children behind. I just have a hard time buying that every team has to have a token interview with a black guy, no matter his coaching skill, desire, or chance to have the job and call it legitimate. You've got a guy like Marv or Hasslet who openly WANT to coach the bills and would be good at it, but you have to interview Gray, who sucks and has no chance at the job, because he's black. Stupid. With that said though, interview gray, cottrell, or some other token black position coach and get it over with. On a side note, does a team have to actually interview a minority, or do they just have to formally invite a minority to an interview? If i were a black coach who knew i'd have no chance at being a head coach, i sure would turn it down on principal. -

Who WILL be the Bills next head coach
Corp000085 replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
levy, but haslett will come to the bills as DC. -
I did not watch or listen to the PC, but i do know that wilson has contradicted himself before in the past week. I'm trying to have an open mind with the most likely scenerios, and not my dream scenerios. I'd love tressel too though (my wife's family is from younstown. The guy makes Jesus #2 in that town.

have you been peed on lately?

Head Coach/GM--Marv Levy Asst. Head Coach/DC--Haslett OC--[insert names of available oc's] ST--Bobby April Listen, i'm all for bringing in a guy like Mike Sherman or jim tressel to be the head coach, but we all know that's a pipe dream... I do wish tressel would come, then i could wear a work appropriate bills sweater vest... Marv is coming back to be the head coach and haslett as the DC to redeem himself with the chance to succeed marv in the next couple of years, ala joe gibbs and greggg williams. as for the front office: Leave it as it is. Marv is a figurehead GM now anyways. If things go well for the bills in the next couple of years, marv can retire as coach and stay on till death as the leader of the bills and figurehead GM. Again, I'd LOVE for sherman or some other proven guy to come (not that marv's unproven, but it is time to look ahead and quit reflecting back), but my scenerio seems like it might be what's coming. edit: I hope this doesn't get burried in the head coach threads, since i actually put more than 3 seconds of thought into it.

2 points about MM firing
Corp000085 replied to ROSCOE P. COE TRAIN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
give gray his token interview. the guy is black so that fufills that thing, and he sucks, so it will be a quick interview. get it over with and hire a real coach. -
BIGGEST MISTAKE LAST SEASON: ADAMS OVER WILLIAMS
Corp000085 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hindsight... at the time, adams looked like the guy to keep over williams, plus edwards was really showing what he was made of last year. Unfortunately for the bills, adams showed his true colors and edwards got hurt and made us all forget that hte guy was good last year. To add insult, williams had a pro bowl year with the vikings. This team had zero heart at all positions on offense and defense. The end result would have been the same right now had we kept williams and cut adams. -

Carson Palmer - potentially career ending
Corp000085 replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like John Clayton anymore, but it is a schitty situation with carson palmer. -
maybe marv's greatest gift as GM will be to convince ralph to open the checkbook for the coaching staff.
-
We'll see what happens at the press conference tomorrow, but this has embarrassement written all over it. All i can hope is that scott berchtold puts ralph back in the freezer and only allows mic time to marv levy. I've got a bad feeling about this because of the way its gone down. If he were just fired last week it would have been ok, but this? I guess stay tuned. 11am tomorrow
