NFL Training Camp & Preseason Injuries
Corp000085 replied to LB3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The video replay was awful looking. Looked like a lame horse on the track. Foot was just sideways. You've gotta feel for the guy. -
I see what you did there.

Blondie at 1:34... That had to have been a set up. There's no way she said that legitimately. -
Tim Graham article on Aaron Maybin
Corp000085 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybin seems like an interesting guy. Also, I wonder how much truth there is to the way the Ralph Wilson bills were run. If this is some of the truth, it's no wonder we haven't made the playoffs in a generation. -
I have a five year old and he is generally well behaved in a restaurant. We give him the iPhone, make him talk to us, and he sits there like a very small adult. He's a kid though. He's allowed to be a hellion in my house, throw things, and goof off. But, he's also a kid who knows to shape up when we are out. This is a valuable life lesson that we have taught him. He's generally been well behaved, but on the rare occasions when he hadn't been great, I yanked him out very fast. It's just not fair to others around me to listen to him get upset. It's also not fair to him to NOT be taught valuable life lessons. Last time I yanked him was at least 2-3 years ago. He's still got a "kid" diet, but we can essentially take him anywhere with us and he's good to go.

Van came into Red Lobster once with his big fur coat on, along with his wife. I was about 16 or 17 at the time and I gave him my star struck "i appreciate you..." BS speech after delivering some food. He got angry at me and said in a stern voice "Do you know who I am? I'm Van Miller, sports director for Channel 4 and the voice of the Bills, I'm to be left alone when I'm out and I demand my desserts for free!" I wasn't 100% sure that he was joking, but I fired back with "I'm XXXX XXXXX, alley coordinator at Red Lobster. I'll give you free dessert after I get mine!" He laughed really hard, gave me a tip, and said good job with the joke. That dude was funny, a really cool guy, and he will forever be the voice of the Bills in my head. When I think back of all those Super Bowl memories, I don't recall the TDs, sacks, and wins without sound. I recall them with Van's play by play and that makes those memories even better. Rest in Peace Van, you can eat all the free food you want now! And, you can call our Super Bowl victory from the best seat in the house when it happens (hopefully very soon).

Well it turns out if I cut the yard, lay down fertilizer and big poison throughout the yard with an aggressive posture, lots of yelling and stomping my feet, they will leave you alone.

Over the past week, I've had a group of 2-3 mockingbirds take up residence in a bush at the corner of my driveway. They are notoriously territorial and will even attack humans if they are a perceived threat. With that said, I'm public enemy #1 to them. Besides killing them or re landscaping, anyone got any suggestions to ward them away or at least stop the dive-bombs? On a side note, these birds set up in military like positions using roof peaks and a streetlight. They're actually rather interesting creatures if not really annoying!

Well, I took the MSF Basic Rider Course this weekend and it was very enjoyable. We had 12 people, 11 guys and one lady. One father/son combo, one guy who was 78 years old, and the rest were guys like me, 35-55 who just wanted to learn before buying a bike. Friday night was a classroom course that evolved into an online training. Day 2 was 8am-2pm on the course and 3-6 in the classroom. Yesterday was 8-1 on the course and a classroom test. The end of the 2nd day course was the skills test. The road work was all low speed stuff: turning from a stop, u turns, sharp right and left turns, speeding up, shifting, and slowing/cornering, and hard braking. I did fairly well. If you want some youtube enjoyment, just search for "MSF box". I actually thought the box was the easiest. I lost points on my skills e v a l by stopping mid turn and putting my foot down because a cop came out of nowhere and told the instructor something. I suppose I could have argued for a redo, but I was only dinged there so no big deal. The lady was asked to leave prior to the skills e v a l because she kept stalling and just wasn't getting it. They were pretty hardcore. They asked her to go to the staging area, had a 2 minute talk and she just left. One of the guys was excused because he failed the skills e v a l. He didn't bomb out or drop his bike or anything, but he accumulated errors enough to put him over the "fail" threshold. Long story short, I'm finished now. We go to Disney World next week, so after that, I need to convince my wife that I need a bike. That course made riding intoxicating. It's VERY VERY fun, and once you get the hang of it, the basics come very easy. Sorta like riding a bike.... That's my mini update... Next one will come sometime later this summer with a bike!

Obviously... Didn't he make the exact same statement about a D player early in the season? I can't recall the specifics, but that guy's stupidity is completely mind blowing. forgetting the fact that the Bills have a real coaching staff now, just losing DM probably earns us 2 additional wins this year. -

Brady to be SUSPENDED next week according to report
Corp000085 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and that's what interests me the most. Yes, Brady is the best QB in today's game, so his loss will sting... But, that entire organization has been running a sham for over 15 years now. If the league comes down on the entire organization, and they are actually a middle of the road team when run on the up and up, Belichik's and Kraft's legacies will forever be tarnished. Think Lance Armstrong, or the 1919 Black Sox, or the Steroids Era sluggers. In the context of "sport", I can deal with the Ray Rices, OJ Simpsons, and Gregg Williams of the word. Rotten human beings, but for the pure sports aspect, I could care less. I cannot stand when the sport is compromised, which is why I can't stand guys like Pete Rose, that NBA ref guy, and the Patriots organization.
