  1. I think it may be a common practice with a few franchises. Or maybe a few players. The NFL has caught someone in the act. It's all out there and a lot of people are upset. Now is their chance to make it right. Sterorid use was common in baseball, and is a serious mark on the MLB. Records are tainted. Everything from the sterorid era is questioned. The NFL, at the peak of its popularity, doesn't want that.
  2. The title of the article even defines the act as cheating. You can do better than that.
  3. This whole rubbing thing is just bogus. Brady said himself that he picks the balls and then they go. They don't mess with the surface after he picks them. There is no way that the balks would hold onto heat for the entire time that he picks them, and then they go to get checked. That would have to be a really quickly executed process.
  4. So if what he is saying is correct, then wouldn't the colts footballs have had to have been ABOVE the upper limit when checked two hours before the game?
  5. "I've handled dozens of balls over the past week." -Bill Belichick
  6. Did anybody else's feed just disappear on nfln?
  7. This statement confirms that the footballs were in fact messed with purposely. So all they have to find out now is who is guilty. Here's my "theory:" Indy informed the league about their concerns with the footballs after the November game. The league never followed up with checking the Pats* balls (hehehe...) at halftime or after the game in any of their following games. The AFC championship comes along and pits the Colts against the Pats*, and the Colts make sure that the officials check. Oops, looks like there is a problem. Of course, I am assuming they have been doing this the whole time, which may not seem fair to some, but I couldn't care less.
  8. I really thought that one of those links was going to be Peter Pan.
  9. I went to Costa Rica for a whole month, saw every sight they plan on seeing and then some, and only spent 1800 including airfare. No thanks.
  10. If a league official checks the balls to make sure they are acceptable, then turns them over to a team employee for the game, and the rules state that they must be within a certain tolerance, it seems to me that, yes, they are responsible for them.
  11. I don't understand this whole "burden of proof" garbage. If I get pulled over driving and there's a pound of dope in my glovebox, I'm in big trouble. I can say all I want that it isn't mine, and I don't have to be under the influence (didn't affect the game) but I'm in deep doo-doo.
  12. If it turns out that Brady is behind this, he should face suspension.
  13. He looks and sounds scared AF.
  14. This is all too believable. I've seen Brady freaking out on the sidelines after losing a lead, practically foaming at the mouth. I don't find it hard to believe that this guy is the type to cheat to get ahead. That doesn't mean that I think Belichick is innocent.
  15. That story about Brad Johnson just proves something we suspected from the beginning... ...that dude wasn't really good enough to actually win a super bowl.
  16. More-of-the-same-gate
  17. If it were due to the weather, then wouldn't the Colts footballs be under inflated as well? I would watch a ten second video of an apology on a three hour loop during the SB.
  18. looks like ol bobby has rebounded pretty well from the death of his wife.
  19. Interesting developments tonight. Eleven balls? That's not a fluke. And the Ravens game? That was a close one with Baltimore up two scores at the half.
  20. Uh, phrasing?
  21. I think ones position on that depends on whether they see PED use as an individual action or an organizational effort to get a leg up.
  22. Eh, I kinda like the seahawks. I'm a big fan of Russell Wilson. And there is no team I hate as much as the New England Patriots*. Zero dilemma here.
  23. OR he may have been even worse in the first half. There is no way of knowing. I, for one, don't think it would have made much of a difference. The problem is that they repeatedly show no respect for the rules and the game.
  24. The steelers should file a tampering complaint over the whole Blount thing.
  25. Our D gave up 13 to the pack. Just saying.
